I understand your thoughts but a promotion with Kamala and Taylor could also give a writer excitement. I will give everyone plenty of notice prior to Dec 11 draft on my decision. This has all of a sudden become not fun for me.

I find the last comment ridiculous and out of line. Nobody has the right to question others deals. I have gone out of my way many times to help others in this game. I just sent Gene Mr. Wrestling II who he can use as a manager or wrestler along with Shane Douglas for Scott Armstrong. 2-1 and no comment. I went out of my way to send Central States over 10 wrestlers some of which were his top wrestlers and no comment. I have moved from Memphis when Gene came back the first time because it was his favorite. I left Sherri Martel in Lutte for nothing because he had use for her and now I make a trade that you don't like and you mouth off? Terry Taylor for Dick Slater is pretty even and I believe Kamala for what will turn out to be something like Brian Pillman who had 10 wins in 1986 and Jimmy Valiant is a win for MACW! In terms of Baby Doll, the following was your quote Spaldoni was nice enough to say that she could come back to UWF which you said was fine and I agreed to send him something in the future if he wants it. This is more than I needed to do since he said he was fine with her coming back to the UWF which Patrick also said was the right thing to do. It seems like you are just pushing me to quit and I have no idea why? I will start to investigate other booking options if that is what you want. This is supposed to be a fun game for all involved but I am not feeling that of late.

UWF sends MACW Terry Taylor and Kamala for Dick Slater, and MACW's first and second round picks in the 86 Fresh Face Draft. Baby Doll will also be returning to UWF for future considerations.

Bam Bam is a force here and it works perfectly in Wild Island Wrestling.
-
I am confused. My trade with Gene was a separate trade from the one with Patrick. What I did after that would not effect Gene. Why would it go back to Gene or Spaldoni. The following is from Patrick. I am unsure why this would change.
-
I believe it only to be fair, since I lost out on a trade to move from 5 to 6 with MACW in the draft in exchange for Baby Doll, that she be returned to UWF since I can no longer benefit from that trade.
-
Oh the choices you have. Who will be that heel champ the WWF fans so badly don't want to ever see. Between Gino, Dibiase and Savage it is hard to see the future here and that is what makes it a fun read. Keep it up!

World Class Championship Wrestling: November 1985
kevinmcfl replied to GeneJackson95's topic in Promotions
WOW, WOW, WOW! I thought Rick Martel might take the NWA title but now this! Truly love it. Texas and Montreal seems like a strange pairing but it is working nicely. Garvin and Embry are perfect heels and the fans must have went nuts as Bad News connected with the Ghetto Blaster. What is Fritz thinking? The VonErichs without a title? He must have a mega plan in the works. -
Love the Lutte/World Class interaction going on in the game.
-
WOW, the AWA always has such great cards from the top to the bottom. Keep up the great work!
-
I am a big fan of tournaments and really enjoyed the tag team event in Salt Lake City. Good work!
-
UWF has Robert & Ron Fuller on the trade block along with Jimmy Golden

The MSG show was great with a lot of turmoil between managers and wrestlers. This gets the new set of angles going for the new year! Also like the introduction of Survivor. Wrestling is a creative sport and you have done such a great job with it. Wrestling is also a copy cat game. Might just see one of those reverse battle royals and survivor cards you used in the South land in 86!
-
You are making stars out of people we couldn't figure out how to use like Al Madril and Carlos Colon. Keep up the great work!

MID-SOUTH COLISEUM NOVEMBER 28,1985 (AIRED AS PART OF WEEKLY SHOW ON 11/30/85) POSTED EARLY AS I HAVE A BUSY WEEK Welcome to Thanksgiving Thunder in the Mid-South Coliseum. I am Jim Ross and my partner for this UWF special is the one and only Lance Russell. What a night we have for you as we have 10 amazing matches that could very well change the landscape of UWF Wrestling as we know it. Six title matches, a strap match, a UWF career vs career match and let’s not forget, the Anthem match where the American Dream will battle the Russian Nightmare for the right to play their countries national anthem. Lance Russell: This is going to be one of the biggest shows ever here in the Mid-South Coliseum and I am most interested to see how Jerry “The King” Lawler is able to deal with the Nation of Domination and Hacksaw Reed. I mean this could be really great or really bad. We might just leave here tonight with the Nation of Domination in charge of the UWF Title and being serenaded by the Russian National Anthem as well walk to our vehicles. Let’s get to our first match. MATCH BATTLE OF BUCKSNORT THE DIRTY WHITE BOY WITH RON FULLER VS JIMMY GOLDEN This had little to do with wrestling and seemed like a family brawl. When Ron Fuller tried to get involved, his brother Robert came to ringside to take care of him. In the end it was the Bucksnort Driver beating the Bucksnort Blaster as Golden hit the piledriver on the DWB for the win. MATCH TERRY TAYLOR VS SHANE DOUGLAS Terry Taylor basically takes the youngster to school here. Without Mr. Wrestling II by his side, Douglas seemed a little lost and Taylor was always one step ahead. Douglas had a few minutes on top here but Taylor came right back and just outwrestled Douglas. The end came in about 7 minutes with the Cross Face Chickenwing. MATCH STRAP MATCH COWBOY BILL WATTS VS SKANDAR AKBAR Crippler Rip Oliver, the newest member of Devastation Inc. came to the ring with Akbar in this wild brawl between the two old timers. As this was a no DQ match, Oliver decided to hit the ring to cause some chaos. Akbar had taken a beating to this point as Watts had whipped him like a dog with that strap. Oliver trips up Watts and the strap falls to the ground. Oliver picks it up as Akbar holds Watts. WHAM! Watts back kicks a low blow to Akbar and then charges Oliver but is caught with a knee to the head. As Watts goes down, Oliver picks up the strap and whips Watts over and over again. Watts looks is in bad shape and Oliver scoops him up and with the help of Akbar, delivers a Spike Piledriver for the win. Akbar and Oliver are laughing it up all the way back to the locker room as Watts is left lying in the center of the ring. 6 MAN WORLD TITLE MATCH TOMMY RICH, AUSTIN IDOL & BUDDY LANDELL WITH RON FULLER VS THE ROAD WARRIOS & THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR WITH PAUL ELLERING A match that is used to begin the push of the Warrior and to continue to keep the Road Warriors as one of the top teams in the UWF. Warrior is still raw but the potential is there so 6 man matches with the Road Warriors will allow him time to keep growing. Ron Fuller tried his best to get involved here but the power of the Warriors was just too much and in the end, we see Idol hit with the Doomsday Device and we have new 6-man champions. CAREER VS CAREER MATCH JYD VS MR. WRESTLING II The crowd is on the edge of their seats for this one as they prayed that this would not be the last of the Dog. JYD was off to a fast start but Wrestling II is just too much of a veteran and uses some questionable tactics to take the momentum. It looked all over as JYD was nailed with a Loaded Million Dollar Knee Lift but to his luck, he fell out onto the arena floor. JYD made it back in on the count of 9 and hit a should block as he re-entered. From there, the Dog went wild and connected with a few headbutts followed by a Big Thump for the win. The crowd went wild as JYD gets to stay but after a few moments, something strange started to happen. They started to chant II, II, II over and over again. While he has been such a heel of late, the fans can’t totally forget what a loyal soldier her has been over the years. JYD actually goes over and gives Mr. Wrestling II a big hug and they walk out together. UNITED STATES TAG TEAM TITLE BOB ARMSTRONG & RON GARVIN VS THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS WITH JIM CORNETTE A match where both teams are looking for revenge. Amrstrong and Garvin for the fireballs thrown at Armstrong’s son and Garvin himself by the Midnight Express and Cornette’s team for Garvin hitting Eaton with the Cornette’s tennis racket to “steal” the titles. A nice 15 minute match here where the fan favorites dominate the beginning. Next, Cornette with the trip, allows the Express to get on top, and finally a nice hope spot by Armstrong only to be takin down by a low blow by Condrey. Armstrong now plays the face in peril and eventually tags in Garvin who comes in like a house afire. The action tumbles out to the arena floor where we get a double count out. Armstrong and Garvin hold on to their belts but both teams are not satisfied with this finish and we will see more of these two teams down the road. UWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH THE ROCK n ROLL EXPRESS VS IVAN & VLAD KOLOFF The perfect good vs evil match up here where the Express get another chance to play David vs Goliath. It could easily be argued that there has never been a team as over in the UWF as the RnR Express are and that there has never been a group as hated as the Koloffs here. The Express try a little running of the ropes in the beginning to offset the power of the Koloffs. Eventaully Vlad catches Morton and we get to the face in peril segment. The end sees Ivan clamp the Bear Hug on Gibson but Morton comes off the top rope to break up the hold. It gets wild for a few minutes as both men tag in their partners and Morton goes toe to with Vlad but Vlad is too strong. After a big right hand, Vlad whips Morton into the ropes and goes for the Big Back Body Drop but Morton leaps over and tries a Sunset Flip. Vlad is too strong and Morton can’t pull him down. Gibson hits the ring and dropkicks Vlad right in the jaw and over he goes. Gibson hits Ivan to ensure that he can’t make the save and the ref makes the three count. As Lance Russell and Jim Ross are hyping up this title defense Nikita comes down to the ring. Jim Ross: Here comes Nikita and business is about to pick up. The Rock n Roll Express better watch out. WHAM… Nikita levels Vlad with a Russian Sickle and Vlad is left flat on his back, Ivan and Nikita walk off and the Rock n Roll Express just seem to stare in confusion as does everyone in the arena. The only thing Lance Russell can think of is that this is the second time Vlad has been beaten and maybe Nikita doesn’t accept loses. NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH DR. DEATH STEVE WILLIAMS VS HAKU WITH SKANDAR AKBAR It doesn’t take long here for Akbar to get involved. He seems a little slow after the beating he took earlier tonight in the strap match with Watts but a wounded animal is dangerous. Watts can only stand so much and comes out after Akbar and Akbar takes off up the aisle. The problem is that it might be too late as Haku took advantage of Akbar’s help and has the Tongan Death Grip locked on Dr. Death. It looks like he is going out from the pain as the ref raises his arm up and drops it 2 times. The third, Williams stops the arm mid-way and shows signs of life. Here he goes. Williams is shaking all over as the adrenaline starts pumping. Williams and Haku trade blows and Dr. Death comes out on top of this exchange. WHAM…. Football Tackle by Dr. Death WHAM…. Oklahoma Stampede! 1… 2… 3. Jim Ross: Bah Gawd! Dr. Death has survived but I am sure Akbar and Devastation Inc. will be back for more. ANTHEM MATCH DUSTY RHODES VS NIKITA KOLOFF Just what you would expect, Nikita controls the beginning and then Rhodes comes back. Many near falls by both men and Nikita is on the edge of defeat here. Bionic Elbow by Rhodes … 2 ¾ count. Bionic Elbow … 1 ½ Count Bionic Elbow … No sell by Nikita Lance Russell: Oh my, Dusty better watch out! Nikita with the Irish Whip …. Russian Sickle and Dusty flips on his head and seems to be unconscious. Nikita with the cover. 1… 2… 3. Jim Ross: It can’t be! Dusty has lost and these people are going to be asked to stand and pay respect to the Russian National Anthem! This is the worst thing I have ever seen. This is the worst moment in Dusty’s long and illustrious career. He may never forgive himself. Nikita Koloff takes the microphone as the people are booing and throwing things all over the ring. Nikita Koloff: Hold da music. We wait to Dusty to get up and pay respect to Modder Russia. Dusty eventually recovers and sees what is happening. He takes the microphone. Dusty Rhodes: Nikita Koloff, you can’t do this to these people. I admit that today you are the better man. Since you have gotten to the UWF, you have been the better man. Do not make these proud Americans suffer for my failures. There must be something else we can do. Nikita Koloff: You leave. You leave UWF for good, we no play the Anthem. You American Dream walk out now and no come back. Dusty Rhodes is so emotional and weeps a goodbye to the fans and makes the deal with the Devil in order to save the fans from hearing the nation. The fans are begging him not to do so but he can’t help himself and does the slowest of all good bye walks up the aisle in the Mid-South Coliseum. UWF TITLE VS UNITED STATES TITLE MATCH JERRY “THE KING LAWLER VS HACKSAW BUTCH REED WITH ERNIE LADD Even though it is the King, it takes the crowd in Memphis some time to get over the last match. This match was awesome with every big move possible. Press Slam by Reed, Royal Backbreaker by Lawler, Double Underhook Suplex by Reed, Middle Rope Fist Drop by Lawler, were all executed to perfection but only ended in 2 counts. Finally, Lawler throws punches so fast it looked like Sugar Ray Leonard. Lawler is able to follow this up with a Piledriver and it looks like he has the match won and he is going to hold two titles. WHAM… Big Boot by Ladd. DING DING DING! Lawler wins by DQ and like lightening. Bill Dundee has hit the ring and is going wild in aid of the King. The night ends with Lawler and Dundee in charge of the ring and with an embrace as the fans go wild! Lance Russell: What a night of wrestling it has been and the UWF will never be the same. We have seen the last of Mr. Wrestling II and Dusty Rhodes. JYD is here to stay and Jerry Lawler is still the champ. So long from Memphis.

11/23/1985 MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA Hello again everybody. Welcome to UWF Wrestling, coming to you from the Civic Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. I am Lance Russell and my partner today is Dave Brown and let’s get right to the video tape from this week in Atlanta. We see a video tape of Jerry Lawler defeating Nature Boy Buddy Landell in his World Title Match with Superstar Bill Dundee as the special referee. When the video is over the Lawler is at the interview desk where Russell asks Lawler about his current relationship with Dundee. Lance explains that last week in their tag match the King accidently hit Dundee and then as we all just saw, Dundee slow counted the pin of Landell. Jerry Lawler: I can’t speak for Bill, but I think our relationship is fine. I mean he might have been a little upset that he wasn’t strong enough last week to hold Landell causing me to accidently hit him and he might be a little upset with himself that he was out of position to make the three count as the special referee. I mean, I understand, he is getting up there in age and isn’t quite what he used to be. Lance Russell: Now, now Jerry. That will be enough of that. All of a sudden Dundee comes storming out and confronts Kingfish as he claims that he is always there for Lawler and would just like to be respected and just one time and when the topic of who Lawler will defend that UWF title against, Dundee thinks of himself as a possible opponent. Jerry Lawler: I don’t decide who I wrestle. I must compete against whoever the UWF deems the top contender. If they don’t think it is you, then you need to do something about that! We Are…. The Nation…. Of Domination starts to play from the speakers as Ernie Ladd leads the U.S. Champion to the interview area where he asks the little guy (Dundee) to step aside for the Man who is the #1 contender for the UWF World Title, Hacksaw Butch Reed! Lance takes a moment to hype up Lawler vs Reed, title vs title match at Thanksgiving Thunder. Lawler seems very confident as does Reed and neither gives an inch. All of a sudden, Dundee challenges Hacksaw Reed to a match today. Reed laughs but accepts as he thinks it would be a good tune up for his title shot. All of a sudden Jerry Jarrett comes out and informs the Nation of Domination that if Reed loses to Dundee today, he will no longer be the #1 contender for the UWF title but Superstar Dundee will be and he will get the title shot at Thanksgiving Thunder. Ladd and Reed are upset! Dundee is shaking his head up and down and Lawler has a very quizzical look on his face! MATCH THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR WITH PAUL ELLERING DEFEATS MIKE GRAHAM WITH A WARRIOR SMASH! COMMERCIAL MATCH THE MIDNIGHT EXPRESS/ JIM CORNETTE BEAT DIXIE DYNAMITE & TOMMY GILBERT AS EATON HIT AN ALABAMA JAMMER ON GILBERT Cornette and the Midnight Express head to the interview desk. Lance Russell: You guys seem to be in a good mood! Jim Cornette: Oh yeah we are in a good mood. We are getting to ready to celebrate our championship win this week in Memphis. I mean we are the greatest tag team in the World today and it is going to be great to have the gold back around our waist and the girls on our arms. I mean Beautiful Bobby and Loverboy Denis already have their pick of women but the party down on Beale Street is going to be something to be seen! MATCH JIMMY GOLDEN BEATS DUKE MYERS WITH THE BUCKSNORT DRIVER As the match comes to an end, the Dirty White Boy comes to ringside with Ron Fuller but only words are exchanged as Lance Russell hypes up the Battle of Bucksnort which is going to take place at Thanksgiving Thunder. The only thing that saved Golden from a 2-1 attack was that his tag partner Robert Fuller rushed out to the ring to even the sides which made the DWB an Fuller rethink their plan and head to the locker room. COMMERCIAL MATCH TRACY SMOTHERS DEFEATED KERRY BROWN WITH A SUPERKICK At the interview desk, Smothers was saying that he hoped his tag partner, Steve Armstrong would be back soon as he is healing well from the fireball attack by the Midnight Express. The Rock n Roll Express and Ricky Gibson come out and join the interview where Lance can’t belief the week the Rock n Roll Express are having. First, they had to fight the Fuller Fab Ones in Atlanta where they escaped with their UWF World Titles and then this week they have to defend those belts against Ivan and Vlad Koloff at Thanksgiving Thunder. Lance goes on to hype up our next match in which the Rock n Roll Express and Ricky Gibson are to defend their UWF World 6 Man Titles against Tommy Rich, Austin Idol and Buddy Landell. Ricky Morton: That’s right Lance this is one tough week but we need to stay focused on today’s match and with the help of you fans out there, we will do our best to come out on top. MATCH WORLD 6 MAN TITLE MATCH THE ROCK n ROLL EXPRESS & RICKY GIBSON VS TOMMY RICH, AUSTIN IDOL & BUDDY LANDELL WITH RON FULLER Morton and Rich start off we a little chain wrestling and all 6 men get a little shine in the first 5 minutes until Rich goes for the eye poke giving the heels the advantage which they carry for about 4 minutes. The end came when Morton escaped danger and tagged in Robert Gibson who took control of the ring. As Gibson and Morton were getting set to use the double dropkick, Gibson backed to his own corner where Ricky encouraged him with a little slap on the back. WHAM…. Double drop kick on Idol and he falls through the ropes to the floor. WHAM… double drop kick on Landell and he follows Idol out of the ring. The Rock n Roll Express follow them out. The ref is watching the action on the floor as Wildfire comes in and drags Ricky Gibson into the ring as he has some sort of chain around Gibson’s neck. Wildfire disguises this choke as a sleeper and Gibson goes out and the ref calls for the bell. Lance is really unsure of what has happened but sees the ref raises Wildfires hand and gives Fuller’s gang the titles. Lance is so confused he calls the ref over and asks him how Fuller’s gang can be granted the win the legal men were Robert Gibson and Tommy Rich and Robert was out of the ring at the time. The ref cleared it up as he said that Ricky had tagged himself in when he slapped his brother on the back. Lance Russell: Well fair enough I guess. I still think we had an illegal choke going on there! Fans, you and I might not like it but we have new UWF World 6 Man Champions! COMMERCIAL MAIN EVENT HACKSAW BUTCH REED WITH PEERNIRE LADD VS SUPERSTAR DUNDEE WINNER TO GET UWF TITLE SHOT AT THANKSGIVING THUNDER Dundee was holding his own here against the muscle-bound Hacksaw but Reed shoved Dundee into the ref and the ref went down. We now saw Ladd hit the ring and catch Dundee with a Big Boot. Lawler rushed down and went toe to toe with Ladd as the two took their fight to the floor. Reed takes full advantage of the Big Boot and follows up a football tackle with a Gorilla Press Slam and covered Dundee just as the ref stumbled over for the three count. Lance Russell: Wow, what a night of wrestling we had. It looks like Lawler and Dundee are back on the same page but it will still be title vs title this week as Lawler faces Reed at Thanksgiving Thunder at the Mid-South Coliseum. So long from Knoxville.

Lutte has quickly become a Must Read with the clown angle and BR angle coming to a head. Love the build up here! Great work

Rain, I am sorry if I came across wrong. You do a much better job then I do at developing talent and angles and so much more knowledge of wrestling then I do. I had just been watching so some Mid-South stuff from this period and Steiner was Richsteiner or something like that and he seemed so raw and I was surprised as the times I saw him were much later and he was a stud. The Rick Steiner I saw was not ready for a title shot but you are so right that he is big and athletic and is on the come.
