  1. 8/17/1985: WTVT 9:05-10:05 SHREVEPORT, LOUISIANA UWF UNIFIED WORLD CHAMPION: JERRY “THE KING” LAWLER NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION: TED DIBIASE UWF WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE ROAD WARRIOIRS UWF WORLD 6 MAN CHAMPIONS: THE TENNESSEE STUD STABLE (TOMMY RICH, EDDIE GILBERT & JOHN STUD) UWF WORLD TV CHAMPION: ICEMAN PARSONS SUMMARY VERSION Hello again everybody. Welcome to Power Pro Wrestling, a UWF & Mid-South Wrestling production from Shreveport, Louisiana and the McNeil’s Boys Club. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd. The big news is that the UWF Unified Champion, Jerry “the King” Lawler will be here tonight as we will find out who his opponent will be this week in Houston. ANGLE #1: WHO WILL JERRY LAWLER FACE THIS WEEK IN HOUSTON FOR THE UWF UNIFIED WORLD TITLE? The show starts will Jerry Lawler coming out to the interview desk where Jim Ross congratulates him on his recent win over Austin Idol for the World Title. As you would expect, Ernie Ladd is pretty quiet at this point. As usual, Lawler does not have any problem coming off confident and almost arrogant but it works for him and the fans are into him. Lawler admits that the competition down here in Mid-South Wrestling is good and he knows he will have his hands full. All of a sudden, Hacksaw Butch Reed comes out and Jim Ross begs for some decorum. Reed gets right in the face of the King and says that he is the #1 contender and will be the shortest reign in UWF history. Jim Ross reminds Hacksaw that he demanded that his manager, Skandar Akbar get this match signed and if he didn’t he would be leaving Devastation Inc. Ross asks if that contract has been signed and if he will have his World title shot this week. Hacksaw admits that he has not seen Akbar since last week and but he is confident the deal got done. Akbar comes out and plays around the topic for a bit and just kept reminding Reed that he is working hard to help Hacksaw’s career as well as his star tag team the Faces of Fear. Akbar said he tried all week but that the UWF Board of Directors refused to grant Reed the title shot. Reed is furious and fires Akbar on the spot and the crowd goes wild. This joy is short lived as out of nowhere Ernie Ladd gets everyone’s attention. Ernie Ladd: Hacksaw, I know that you and I have not always been on the same page. It was just over a year ago that you put me into retirement but I can guarantee you that Akbar is using you to feed his bank account. I know that he never even went to the UWF Board of Directors. How do I know this? I went and here is the contract with your name on it vs Jerry Lawler for this Thursday in Houston. What do you say Hacksaw? Let’s bury the hatched brother. Let’s turn this sport on its head. IT IS TIME TO JOIN BACK TOGETHER AND FORM THE NATION OF DOMINATION. Together we can make sure we are fighting for the cause. You have said it before, YOU ARE THE MAN and before you, I WAS THE MAN. Together we can turn these white crackers on their heads! It is like a lightbulb goes off in Reed’s head as he agrees with Ladd and hypes up the fact that he has a World Title shot in 5 days. Jerry “The King” Lawler was not happy being called a cracker and basically challenges Reed right now and starts to head to the ring! WHAM!! Reed clocks Lawler from behind and together with Ladd they start to lay the boots to him. WHAM!! The Faces of Fear under the demands of Skandar Akbar are all over Ladd and Reed as Akbar is furious that he was fired. WHAM!! The Road Warriors have hit the interview area and are all over the Faces of Fear, the biggest rivals for the UWF World Tag Title. This chaos goes on for a few minutes until finally Jim Ross takes us to commercial break hoping that order can be restored. ANGLE #2: RAT PACK VS DUSTY RHODES & HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN -A rather peacefully show here for this angle. Hacksaw Duggan won a squash match against Billy the Kid with a football tackle. He was joined by the American Dream at the interview desk where we find out Ted Dibiase escaped his match with Dusty last week in New Orleans with h is North American Title. We get a little video and we see the familiar loaded Black Glove clock Rhodes as the ref’s attention was turned toward Eric Embry who had come to ringside. When the video is over, the Dream and Hacksaw say they are sick and tired off the Rat Pack being allowed to interfere in Dibiase’s title matches. Dream says it would be easier to take on all 4 of the Rat Pack members because then at least you would know where they were. Hacksaw agrees and says this is gone past just the North American Title and that it is personal. He wants a Gauntlet Match this week in Houston where it will be Dusty and Hacksaw against the 4 members of the Rat Pack and each time someone is defeated, they must leave ringside. Jim Ross, who has been alone since the first segment where Ladd turned manager, says that is a very dangerous match and thinks that Rhodes and Hacksaw should rethink this idea. We know there is no chance of this and after Ted Dibiase defeated Leo Seitz with the Figure 4, he is joined by the rest of the Rat Pack who accept the Gauntlet Match and they are full of laughter at how there aren’t 2 men in the World who can beat them. Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and admits that he is not happy about sanctioning this match but he is going to do it. He then goes on to inform the Rat Pack that if they lose the Gauntlet Match, Ted Dibiase will have to put the title on the line in two weeks in New Orleans in a 4 Corner Match with the last 4 men standing from the Gauntlet Match. Dibiase, who is doing most of the talking tonight, has no fear about this as he is sure they are winning this week! ANGLE #3: THE ROAD WARRIORS VS THE FACES OF FEAR Neither of these teams see any action tonight except for their involvement in the opening brawl. Both teams do get a bit of interview time for their upcoming Steel Cage Match in Houston this week. The Road Warriors are basically roaring into the microphone while Akbar was a little more philosophically about how his monsters were the one team who can beat the Warriors at their own came. He asks Jim Ross to look at his men and tell him if he thinks they look afraid. Konga is basically contorting his face and beating himself in the chest while Haku is chanting some strange sounds and he is slapping his head in rhythm. Ross admits they don’t look afraid but the do look insane. Ross wonders what the condition of these 4 men will be after their epic Cage Match. ANGLE #4: $25,000 BOUNTY ON JYD JYD comes to the interview desk where we can see he has a pair of sunglasses on. JYD, talking real slow, is full of anger as he explains what happened last week as he and Dick Murdoch faced the Midnight Cowboys. “Captain Redneck and myself were really giving it to these two clowns who are calling themselves the Midnight Cowboys when all of a sudden, the lights in the Lake Front Arena went out and that he was hit by something and then someone put a noose around his neck and tossed him over the top rope basically hanging him. Was it not for Dick Murdoch, JYD might not be with us. Murdock clobbered the Midnight Cowboys and rushed to JYD and picked him up and got the noose off. JYD needed help to get back to the locker room. Dog says that his neck is still a little sore but if those Midnight Cowboys think they are putting the Dog out of wrestling and collecting the bounty they have another thing coming. Dog again calls out the coward who has put this bounty on his head. Jim Ross gives JYD something to ponder and he asks if there could be another person involved as the Cowboys were in the ring so someone else must have turned out the lights. All of a sudden, Cowboy Bill Watts comes out and says he was has received another letter and would like to read it on the air. Dear JYD Sometimes you make a good point. I might as well come and meet you face to face and put you out of wrestling myself and save $25,000. See you soon! Sincerely, John The show ends when in the Main Event the Midnight Cowboys got a little of their own medicine as during their match against the Samoan Connection, an angry JYD and Dick Murdoch hit the ring looking for blood. JYD had the dog chain and Murdoch came carrying a chair. The Cowboys quickly left the ring and ran for higher ground. ANGLE #5: NEW ANGLE: Mr. Wrestling II and Shane Douglas This is Wrestling II’s first time in Mid-South in almost a year but he still is one of the most popular wrestlers in the territory. Wrestling II explains that he knows that he is getting up there in age and wants to pass on his knowledge to a hard-working, talented youngster who has the drive to succeed in this business and that person is Shane Douglas. We see Shane Douglas win a match with the Million Dollar Knee Lift against Tony Perkins and Jim Ross hypes up the fact the Shane Douglas seems like a quick learner. IN OTHER ACTION UWF World TV Champ, Iceman Parsons defeats Chris Benoit in an 8-minute match that saw the young Benoit really hold his own. Benoit did connect with a suplex and got a 2 ¾ count before falling to Iceman after a Big Butt Bump. What was nice was that the two shook hands after the bout. This week’s big card in New Orleans and the Lake Front Arena includes: GAUNLET MATCH THE RAT PACK VS DUSTY RHODES & HACKSAW DUGGAN UWF UNIFIED WORLD TITLE MATCH JERRY LAWLER VS HACKSAW REED with ERNIE LADD GRUDGE MATCH JYD & Dick Murdoch vs The Midnight Cowboys Jim Ross: So long from Shreveport!
  2. Wow, tough week for the champ! He faced Race in Birmingham and Hacksaw Reed in Houston. Not sure he has win since winning the belt! Great semi-main event here! KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB!
  3. The Sportatorium is the place to be. A rare loss by the VonErichs in that building gets revenges by Kevin and all go home happy. Nice use of Adonis here. It is a quality match and starts to build the Race-Lawler feud if you want.
  4. Just seeing if anyone is interested in Chris Benoit
  5. UWF would like Stan Hansen on August 17 and 22
  6. WOW! So much going on here. I enjoyed the "double tough" quote by Gordon. That brought ne back to my childhood real quick and I think Lars may just have something here with this Hiroshima Wrecking Crew. -The American Dream interview from Bruno was so realistic and I am excited to see where this goes. -The Soviet Saint.... Very interesting and this brings instant heat. Again, so very creative.
  7. I hope you didn't take that wrong. I admit my knowledge is pretty low and when I think of Atlas, I think back to Georgia Championship wrestling when he was a babyface with Tommy Rich and such. I think he is a great heel and am enjoying the freight train that he is becoming.
  8. Really enjoyed your writing for the ESPN show. A little background goes a long way and you did just that for newcomers Jesse Barr and Fallen Angel. The Atlas-Wahoo match was interesting as I am not used to either playing the heel but they could both be awesome at either heel or face.
  9. I enjoyed your shows but they really make me think. Either we have Lutte breaking Kayfabe with the Midnight Rockers or their is some funny business going on here with the WWF. Either way it has me hooked. The Rockers are basically portraying the NWA's biggest enemy, the WWF, as the Golden Kingdom on TV. Either Michaels went rogue on TV and brole kayfabe or Lutte is giving the WWF attention because they are in cohoots with VInce. It could be like Memphis back in the 80's playing both sides of the fence with the AWA and NWA or Lutte could really be battleground central!!! So looking forward to this!!
  10. I agree very easy to read format. I am enjoying the Mid-American League and you did a great job of setting up your new tag team feud with the Kiniski's and Tyler and Brown! Great job.
  11. I am enjoying the fact that Flair is having some great singles matches during the Bash. Flair vs Hansen would be something special. Also think the TA-Funk series is cool. I remember when I was a kid and TA had a series with Nikita Koloff.
  12. 8/10/1985: WTVT MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE “Yello again everybody. Welcome to The Main Event a USWA and UWF promotion coming to you from Memphis Tennessee. I am Lance Russell along with the young Jeff Jarrett. The big news in the UWF this week is coming out of Beach Brawl in Miami, Florida where our own Jerry Lawler has captured the UWF Unified Heavyweight Title from Jerry Lawler. If that is not enough, you need to see what happened after the match. SUMMARY VERSION ANGLE #1: UWF UNIFIED WORLD TITLE We see a video of the match between Austin Idol and Jerry Lawler and what happens after the match courtesy of Continental Championship Wrestling…. Jerry 'the King' Lawler pinned "Universal Heartthrob" Austin Idol w/"Classy" Freddie Blassie & Teddy Muscles after a piledriver to win the UWF Unified World Championship. Afterwards, Teddy Muscles, Blassie, and Harley Race were fighting with the outside referee to get into the cage…Lawler sees this and climbs over to escape the attack….they manage to get in the cage just as Lawler is getting to the floor and leaving with his new title belt. Idol struggles to get back to his feet as Blassie starts berating him about losing…Idol tries to shrug him off but Blassie slaps him across the face, Idol grabs him around throat and starts choking him as the crowd erupts but Idol is quickly cut off by Teddy Muscles and Harley Race…..they put the boots to him and then give him a spike piledriver……they continue to put the boots to him until Dusty Rhodes and Jerry Lawler come back out and clear them out of the ring. Dusty grabs the mic and says, "Freddie Blassie….you tell them Sammartinos…THEIR ASS IS MINE, BABY!!! RIGHT HERE IN MIAMI I WANT THEM BOTH IN A CAGE AGAINST ME AND WHOEVER I DECIDE TO BRING WITH ME!!" The crowd erupts!! The show ends on a high note with the Dream and the new World Champ in the cage as EMTs check on the fallen Austin Idol. When the video ends we see both Jerry Lawler and Austin Idol at the interview desk. Lawler is receiving all kinds of congratulations from Lance, Jeff Jarrett and the fans. Lawler thanks them and say he is ready for all the challenges that lie ahead as he knows he is in for a tough road. Lance then asks the King about why he came back to the ring with Dusty Rhodes to help Idol who was under attack from Race and the rest of Blassie’s gang. Jerry Lawler: You know Lance, Austin and I go back a long way. Sometimes we are at each other’s throats and sometimes we got each other’s backs. Remember that together we have held the Southern Tag Titles on 2 occasions. When Dusty and I looked at what was going on in the ring we knew what was right. I hope Austin and I can continue to be on the same side as I have no interest in getting back in the ring with him. He is one tough hombre and he wore me OUT! Austin Idol: Well King, I am just grateful for you and Dusty and I hope we can work together to help clean up Memphis wrestling and maybe, just maybe, someday you and I will step into that ring and knock each other around a bit. All of a sudden the crowd pops as Superstar Bill Dundee is back in Memphis. Lance Russell: Well Bill, it’s nice to have you back again but I hope it will be peaceful. The last time you were in Memphis, you and Austin had some problems. Bill Dundee: Well Lancer, yeah, I am here on TV to congratulate my good friend, the Kingfish on his big win and if he is ok with Idol, so am I. I mean we all go back a long way. Sometimes it’s the three of us bashing in the heads of some dude who has stepped out of line and sometimes its 2 of us bashing in the head of the third when he has stepped out of line. But remember Lancer, this party has been going on all week long at Corkys down on Biele Street and the three of us have worked everything out and together we are going to make sure there is no funny business that the Kingfish has to deal with. Lance Russell informs the trio that they all better watch their backs as “Classy” Freddie Blassie and Handsome Harley Race are claiming that the UWF belt won’t be around Lawler’s waist for long. ANGLE #2: UWF U.S. HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP Lance hypes up the fact that Beach Brawl was not the only big card that took place this week as there was a major event in the Mid-South Coliseum that featured a bout for the U.S. Championship and it was the last chance for Terry Gordy to win the belt from Gorgeous Jimmy Garvin. Lance also reminds us that Eddie Marlin has banned Precious from ringside for this event. Lance brings us to another video and we see Garvin pleading with Bam Bam to back off but no chance. Gordy actually shoves the ref a bit to get to Garvin and he scoops him up and walks around the ring with him for a while before planting a running powerslam on him. Somehow Garvin kicked out but that just delayed the inevitable as Gordy follows it up with a Jumping Piledriver and that was all she wrote. Gordy was at the interview desk where he was as loud as good be and verbally attacked bot Garvin and Precious. All of a sudden Precious comes out screaming about how Gordy is a bully for shoving the ref and that he should have been disqualified. She is also still fuming about being spanked by Gordy on TV two weeks ago. Gordy laughs as he reminds everyone that the only rule to his match with Garvin was that this jesabel was banned from ringside. He also makes some joke about how all the guys in the locker room heard she liked to be spanked! SMACK! Precious clocks Gordy and vows revenge before stomping off. ANGLE #3: Are the Midnight Express or the Kiwi Sheepherders the #1 Contenders to the U.S. National Tag Titles held by Ronnie Garvin and Terry Taylor. -After a squash match that saw the Kiwi Sheepherders come out top by just beating the crap out of Verlon Briggs and Homer O’Dell, we see the Sheepherders at the interview desk. Lance hypes up their victory in the Mid-South Coliseum against the Midnight Express when Denis Condrey distracted the ref and Jim Cornette attempted to toss the tennis racket to Beautiful Bobby but it was intercepted by Jonathen Boyd. Boyd clocked Eaton to even this best of 3 series and 1 match each. The Sheepherders are screaming about what they are going to do to Midnight Express this week in Nashville and what will happen to that little weasel Jim Cornette if they get their hands on him. All of a sudden, the weasel himself dares to come out and he is screaming about how the Sheepherders should have been disqualified for using an illegal object. The young Jeff Jarrett can’t contain himself and reminds Cornette that he threw the racket in to be used on the Sheepherders just as he did in the first match with the Midnight Express won after using the racket. Cornette goes off on Jeff Jarrett and threatens that his mother’s lawyers will sue him and he will take this company from his father and that the two of them will be homeless within a week. Jerry Jarrett comes out and gets right in the face of Cornette and seems furious about how his son was treated. He does agree with Cornette on one thing. Both of these teams like to use illegal weapons so he is going to allow both teams to use their favorite weapons in the match in Nashville. The Midnight Express can use a tennis racket while the Sheepherders can use a New Zealand flag pole. Cornette is upset that the flag pole is an unfair advantage and that Jarrett is doing anything he can to stop the greatest tag team in the world from winning the U.S. National Tag Team belts. Jerry Jarrett: SO SUE ME! -Also on the show tonight, we saw - Another dominate performance by Vlad the Russian Hammer. This time it was in the main event against Pistol Pez Whatley. This was really a step up in competition but it seems like nothing can stand up to that Double Fisted Sledgehammer. Lance is really wondering if he can be stopped. We also find out that Vlad will be facing the UWF TV World TV Champion next week. - A win in a tough Non-title match for the U.S. National Tag Team Champions against Bobby Jaggers and Invader #1 (Jerry Ho) as Ronnie Garvin followed up Terry Taylor’s Airplane spin on Invader #1 with the Garvin Stomp. At the interview desk, the champs told us it didn’t matter if they faced the Midnight Express or the Kiwi Sheepherders and that they were ready for both. - A dominate win for Superfly Snuka against former NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champion Les Thorton. Thorton, playing the arrogant British heel, was technically very good but could not handle the power of the now fan favorite Superfly. A couple of headbutts followed up by a big slam set Thorton up for the best finisher in all of wrestling…. The Superfly Splash! - A great main event win for Superstar Bill Dundee and Austin Idol who seemed to be on the same page against Honky Tonk Man and Tommy Gilbert. The end came when Dundee did a great job of playing the face in peril and escaped to tag in the Universal Heartthrob who came in like a house afire. A few haymakers to HTM followed up by a bodyslam-Las Vegas Leglock Combo to Gilbert claimed victory and made the crowd happy. The problem was that this was all a set up as the Southern Tag Team Champs, Wildfire Rich and Eddie Gilbert hit the ring and took out Superstar and Idol. What was interesting here was that the new UWF Unified World Champion NEVER came out to help the duo who said had his back earlier in the show!! Lance Russell: So long from Memphis and don’t forget to join us in Nashville this week. Matches to include #1 CONTENDERS MATCH FOR THE UWF U.S. NATIONAL TAG TITLES (Tennis Racket vs New Zealand Flag Pole Match) The Midnight Express with Jim Cornette vs The Kiwi Sheepherders UWF 6 MAN TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH SUPERSTAR BILL DUNDEE, AUSTIN IDOL & JERRY LAWLER VS THE TENNESEESS STUDD STABLE (Rich, Gilbert and John Stud)

The crowd erupts!! The show ends on a high note with the Dream and the new World Champ in the cage as EMTs check on the fallen Austin Idol. When the video ends, we hear Jim Ross letting us know that Jerry Lawler will be here in the Boys Club next week and he will be defending the Unified World Title next Thursday in Houston and that we will find out next week who the challenger will be. ANGLE #2: DIBIASE AND DR. DEATH VS DUSTY AND HACKSAW DUGGAN -We get a squash match here for Dr. Death Steve Williams as he destroys some jobber with the Oklahoma Stampede! At the interview desk, he seems a little subdued as we find out that he lost his #1 Contenders Lumberjack Match for the North American Title against Dusty Rhodes. We see a short video from Houston, Texas where we see the action spill out to arena floor a few times and it appears that Rat Pack leader and North American Champion, Ted Dibiase, is doing little to help Williams out. Williams continues to say all is ok with the Rat Pack but we will have to wait and see. Later in the Main Event we see Dusty Rhodes in a match with the Cuban Assassin but it doesn’t go long as the Rat Pack (Dibiase, Dr. Death, Embry and Landell) hit the ring and go after Dusty. This is an obvious attempt to keep Rhodes from the North American Title Match this week in New Orleans. While the attack doesn’t last long as the Calvary of Hacksaw Duggan, JYD and Dick Murdoch come to the rescue. What was noticeable here was the lack of involvement in the dust up by Dr. Death. MAYBE ALL IS NOT WELL! ANGLE #3: THE ROAD WARRIORS VS THE FACES OF FEAR We get a short clip here of the latest wild title match between these two teams. This one took place in New Orleans and again we saw the match end without a clear winner. This one ended in a double count-out as all 4 men brawled all over the arena floor. After the video, we see Cowboy Bill Watts at the interview desk where he informs us that enough is enough. In two weeks these teams are going to face off in a Steel Cage. He hopes this will stop the managers from getting involved and for the action to stay in the ring. ANGLE #4: NEW ANGLE: HACKSAW REED DISGRUNTLED Skandar Akbar comes out and calls out Hacksaw where he says that Hacksaw means so much to him that he has sent the Dingo Warrior away and that the new Devastation Inc. will consist of only the Faces of Fear and Hacksaw Butch Reed. Reed says that sending Dingo away is a step in the right direction but he needs more. He reminds us that Jerry Lawler will be here next week and if he doesn’t get a title shot in Houston in two weeks, Akbar better look for a new star. Akbar stumbles around and tries to say that he doesn’t have the power to just decide who gets that title shot. Reed doesn’t care and tells Akbar that getting title shots is the only reason that he is part of Devastation Inc. and reminds everyone that he is the “man” here and it is not like he needs Akbar’s help at ringside. To prove this, he tells Akbar to not accompany him to the ring for his TV match this week. In that match, Reed is like a man possessed as he just pummels Kenny Shane. ANGLE #5: $25,000 BOUNTY ON JYD JYD wins an easy match against Larry Cheatem with a Big Thump. As soon as the match is over, the Midnight Cowboys, the two masked men who attacked JYD two weeks ago in Memphis are back. They Pearl Harbor him and have their way with him until Dick Murdoch makes the save as the Cowboys run for cover. JYD and Murdoch are full of anger at the interview desk. Jim Ross welcomes JYD back to Mid-South as he has spent the last month or so in the USWA. Ernie Ladd steps in and wonders if Dog is “yella” and has run away from Memphis as he is just afraid of these so called Midnight Cowboys. This set Dog and Murdoch off and they demanded a match against the Midnight Cowboys this week in New Orleans. Dog also says he would have no problem meeting Ladd in the ring as well! Ladd does back down a bit but tells JYD he has been sent a letter and has been asked to read it on air so here it goes. Mr. JYD You think you can out smart me by leaving the USWA and coming to Mid-South Wrestling. You are a good example as to why dogs are man’s best friend. It is because you are just plain stupid and we can always figure out your thinking. A bounty is a bounty. It doesn’t matter where you go, someone will be there to take you out. Memphis … New Orleans … St. Louis…. It doesn’t matter. Hell it might be in the parking lot …. in your drive way or when you take that girlfriend of yours to the movies. This sport is not big enough for the both of us and it is time for you to go. Your friend, John. JYD and Murdoch are both wild with anger now and calling out this letter writing John! We also find out that the match between JYD and Murdoch vs the Midnight Cowboys is a go for this week in Houston! ANGLE #6: NEW ANGLE: Mr. IN OTHER ACTION UWF World TV Champ, Iceman Parsons defeats Chris Benoit in an 8 minute match that saw the young Benoit really hold his own. Benoit did connect with a suplex and got a 2 ¾ count before falling to Iceman after a Big Butt Bump. What was nice was that the two shook hands after the bout. This week’s big card in New Orleans and the Lake Front Arena includes: NORTH AMERICAN TITLE MATCH Ted Dibiase vs Dusty Rhodes UWF WORLD TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH The Road Warriors vs Steve “Dr. Death” Williams and Buddy Landell Eric Embry vs Hacksaw Duggan JYD & Dick Murdoch vs The Midnight Cowboys Jim Ross: So long from Shreveport!
  14. WOW. great card. So many possible champs...... Looking forward to seeing how this Mid-American League plays out. Valiant would be a good choice but if you went heel, he could chase him all over the Great Plains.
  15. With the open spot left after the trade with CCW, UWF picks up Jerry Oske (Jerry Ho)
  16. Let me congratulate you on the show off the year! Match by Match: -Was surprised to see Brad in the opener and more surprised to see him go down in defeat. Wonder where he turns next? - Hansen would have really pumped up this crowd and it is a great way to continue to build Shane Douglas. Even though Wrestling II brought in Hansen, I wonder if this is not the beginning of some jealousy on his part. - I must admit that my least favorite match was the Loser Leave Town Match. Not because of how it was done but because I think they are both so important to your territory. The Bullet in Alabama and Sullivan in Florida. Hope to see him back at some point. -Great way to bring in Harley Race. Being a mystery wrestler hypes up attention on the match and then to give him a title on night 1 makes his an automatic contender for the World title. -6 Man tag match was executed perfectly. Andre gets to slam Stud which could lead to a battle of the giants at some point and also the slam on Fuller makes the crowd jump for joy and almost forget that the heels still have the belts. You also do not have to worry about getting Andre from Vince McMahon to defend the belt. -Not only is your VonErich-Bigelow feud on fire but now Texas can be Texas again as we got the VonErich/Freebird battle underway! -The loss by by the Exotic Superstars was needed here to keep your tag team division fresh. They came off as two great heels and can continue on to the next angle without losing a step whild now we get to see f the Nightmares were really friendly to the RnR Express or was that not just a ploy to get a "freebie" in terms of a title shot. -Thanks for adding to the legacy of the Road Warriors. Someone not even showing up makes them the most feared team in all of wrestling. What will the Faces of Fear have to say.....stay tuned -Oh those dirty Italians. How could Bruno turn heel... another new and exciting angle +who will Dusty have as a partner. -Those Memphis guys are like two brothers. They beat the crap out of each other but how dare someone else go after your bro. Lawler, the new champ, comes back to save Idol. Angles ending, continuing and starting makes this show awesome + its creativity in both match making and results makes it one of the best I have read yet. LET THE LAWLER REIGN BEGIN!
  17. There seems to be a lot of Lutte/WWF "stealing" of talent lately. The NWA offices should be watching this relationship closely! Is it true stealing? Maybe "sneaky" sharing to test the waters if Montreal is a better fit with Vince! VERY INTERESTING!!!
  18. The people of Boston are in for a great show! Your TV shows are spot on to the WWF on the 80's as your stars get a nice win to stay hot as they call out their opponent of the next big card. I do think Hogan vs Savage who are your two champions is a huge match worthy of Wrestlemainia and deserves some more hyping especially when it was in the "greatest arena in the world."
  19. Great start and welcome to the come. The UWF is so excited to expand into the plains! -The Mid-American League seems like it is a cool way to crown a champion and I look forward to reading it. -JR. Foley makes a great heel manager and along with the hated Japanese Black Dragon, they could bring some serious heat. - For someone who kind of just picked a roster from what was left, I really think you got some big stars which could produce some great UWF Championship matches. The players who have been around awhile have rosters a little to big to play the territory game but your is perfect. People like Buzz Tyler, Jimmy Valient and Sweet Brown Sugar are really championship material but we had pushed them into jobber roles. You actually have a very realistic roster for 1985! Perfect!!!! -Don't be afraid to ask for anything. The UWF tries to help each other out.
  20. WOW... CCW IS DOING WORK . I am really looking forward to Beach Brawl. No disrespect to any other territory but I so enjoy working with Gene and seeing the direction he takes UWF. Each week it just seems so creative and I never no what to expect but it all so fits the Southern Wrastlin scene.
  21. UNDER THE TENT AND THERE IS A CLOWN...... HMMMM. THIS REALLY HAS ME THINKING ABOUT WHAT IS COMING NEXT.
  22. I am enjoying this roster. Nice southern feel to it with Gary Hart leading his usual cast of characters. It is almost like WCCW was a feeder system to the WWF with so many Texas guys battling it out!
  23. I enjoyed the series of shows here as with the beating after the bell and the run in for the south gave it is nice Southern U.S feel. I was surprised that you went with a repeat match with Andre choosing the Spoiler. Looking forward to Andre vs Backlund but wondering if there is a turn by someone here in Andre's last match.
  24. Just making sure.... I should put these guys in the Japan-North America pool?
  25. Nice set of cards. I have been on Edger's side with the idea that your B side rules but I feel I sudden switch. In my opinion, the tag match being a semi-main event and Billy Jack vs Hercules can't be beat.
