  1. For the second year in a row, this tournament has been one of the highlights of the entire game.
  2. Sounds great. When you send me your nominations, you might went to include a one line blurb for the ballot like World Champion
  3. Would anyone be interested in doing monthly rankings like Pro Wrestling Magazine did. We could do a Top 10 Wrestlers, Top 10 Tag Teams, 10 Most Hated and Top 10 Most Popular. We could each nominate 3 people for each category and then submit our monthly picks with 10 points for a first place vote and 1 point for a 10th place vote. We could even open this up to outside readers and maybe get them more interested and see if they would join. Our votes should be based on how the wrestlers are doing in our game and not in real life. I would love to run this thread if you guys are interested. I do recommend that we can't vote for our own promotion. You could PM me your nominations on the first of the month. I would make the ballot and then you guys could pm your votes. Just an idea!
  4. Just checking... but this was heel vs heel? 24 Karat might be the best stable in the game right now! Really good job with your main events
  5. Love the show! Great and exciting read!
  6. I love this type of tournament where we all seem to have a stake in it. Great opening round. Looking forward to reading the next two days!
  7. Great all-around show. Thanks for the hype for the World Title Match.
  8. Loved the main event at Centre Paul-Sauve but must admit I was surprised with the pairings in the Main Event on the TV show. Is Gino Brito's regular partner injured? I was not sure when I read the main event from the TV show.
  9. The tag festival has been really fun here. I must admit that I thought the Faces of Fear would have fared better. Looking forward to the finish.
  10. I remember when I was young, we got like a 2 month stint of Southwest Championship Wrestling and I just thought Bob Sweetan was awesome! Unfortunately Vince McMahon came along and WWF was almost all that was left. Terry Funk vs Bob Sweetan are the matches that Bill Apter would place on the cover!
  11. I really liked the ending here to the Brad Armstrong/Ole Anderson match! I think your tag team division is shaping up nicely and has a good mix of veterans and up and comers. The Midnight Rockers could be something special in a Southern Wrastlin type promotion kind of in the way of the RNR Express.
  12. I just wanted to try and get a better understanding of where people are at in this territorial issue I saw today. I have been asked to move locations twice in the game to allow for new writers and both times I obliged. When I first started in Memphis, I had relationships with both the AWA and the NWA and then went to Mid-South where I was also told that Texas was opened so I ran Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Arkansas and Texas. A sort of Mid-South-World Class combo. I joined these two promotions into the USWA and broke free of both AWA and NWA and went independent. Being independent, I thought that restrictions of where to run where kind of lessened and when Gene left the last time, I began to run in Memphis again which was actually a USWA base. Currently I have a Watts-VonErich-Jarrett feud going and am running in old UWF and USWA areas which includes what I said before + Missouri. Am I wrong in my thinking that this game has warped into more national programs and the restrictions of where to run have been lessened especially since we are all recognizing different world champions. If I am wrong and have stepped on any bodies toes, please let me know I and I will back out of any area that you believe to be yours. A venue to me is just a line in my event while I understand that many of you do a much better job then me in giving wins o local talent or pushing certain people who are hot in an area. I also think that since we are a limited group, we try and bring the sport to regions that do not currently have a promotion. I mean in the perfect world, Portland and other great cities would be represented. Maybe we should hash this out and decide where people should be and where they plan to expand if they do.
  13. Some big names here going head to head. Wonder how crazy the Brody vs Bock match would have been. I do think you have some of the most interesting tag teams in the game and find it interesting how much you have them go between singles and tag matches. If you had to rank your teams, who would be your top 5?
  14. You are doing a wonderful job of always giving us an interesting twist to your angles. This makes up a lot for your limited roster and makes it must read each and every week. Keep it up!
  15. Great show for the fans in Columbus. Kamala and Ido was a very interesting pair. Billy Jack for Hercules would be one great power struggle! Wendell Cooley on the rise here with a nice win over Slater.
  16. I might have gone all the way to Japan to see this. So many big names battling each other here. Fun show! The Americans had a little success early but the Japanese with the big wins late would have the fans going home happy and coming back for me.
  17. Love the set up.... Might have to steal something similar. You guys are so good at organization and planning while I always feel lost.
  18. I agree. Piper's Pit was the best part of the WWF back in the 80's. You have some big names on this roster and it must be hard deciding which way to go with things. Great work and I must compliment you on how well you plan ahead.
  19. I might have come across wrong but I meant it as a good thing. It just makes the average fan wonder!
  20. Some great names on these cards! I enjoyed your Cornette interview. Some classic Cornette phrases mixed in there and you were really able to get the point across on how muxh of a little weasel he really was. I must say I am getting confused on all the Machines in the game right now and wonder if we will ever find out who they all are and if they are the same between Lutte and WWF? Maybe you guys have pulled the wool over our eyes and are really working together. Watch out NWA!
  21. I continue to learn as I read your promotion. I find it interesting how you build wrestlers through tag events and still have his team lose but it is just the other guy taking the fall.
  22. Both of those events would be must see TV! Khan and Humongous are great monster heels. I love that pairing. Ronnie Garvin getting paired up with Martel and Wahoo on back to back shows would have been great to see also. Rude seems like he getting ready to take over! I see lots of fun ahead for the AWA.
  23. Austin Idol seems to be making a claim for the UWF title!
  24. MID-SOUTH WRESTLING: 4/21/1985: WTBS 9:05-10:05 TULSA, OKLAHOMA NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION: HACKSAW JIM DUGGAN UWF WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: THE PERFECT ALLIANCE with BABY DOLL (Arn Anderson & Bobby Eaton) UWF WORLD 6 MAN CHAMPIONS: THE SHEIKS with SKANDAR AKBAR (Hacksaw Butch Reed, Crusher Blackwell & Ken Patera) UWF WORLD TV CHAMPION: BILLY JACK HAYES Hello again everybody. Welcome to UWF & Mid-South Wrestling from Tulsa, Oklahoma and the Tulsa Convention Center here on WTBS. I am Jim Ross and my partner today is the “Big Cat” Ernie Ladd. Jim Ross is joined by the American Dream and together they hype up the UWF UNIFIED WORLD TITLE BOUT in the Cotton Bowl on May 4th at the David Von Erich Memorial. Ross really plays it off like a dire situation as it will be the Dream vs Jerry Lawler and another wrestler form the CCW. The Dream admits that it doesn’t look good but that he has seen much worse growing up in West Texas where it was hard enough just to be able to afford a meal and have decent cloths. He also goes on to explain when there are two snakes in one pit they often go after each other and that is exactly what he hopes happens here! Ross thanks Rhodes for his time and wishes the Dream luck tonight as he is about to take on the Japanese monster Rusher Kumura. MATCH DUSTY RHODES VS RUSHER KIMURA With Kimura already in the ring, Dusty begins to head to his match when all of a sudden three men wearing masks that appear like the University of Tennessee football helmet rush out and start to triple team Rhodes. They have their way with him for a minute or two before Jerry “The King” Lawler comes out. With what Lawler will later call the Tennessee Volunteer Army holding Rhodes, the King simply walks up to Rhodes a throws a fireball right in his face. The Army rushes away as Rhodes rolls around in agony and Jim Ross is screaming for a doctor. Ernie Ladd makes some of his most disgusting commetts ever here as he keeps wondering if the King is selling BBQ at his new restaurant. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MATCH: KEVIN VON ERICH & BLACKJACK MULLIGAN VS KELLY & NICK KINISKI Before the match, Jim Ross explains the the fans that it is a real treat to have Kevin VonErich in the arena tonight and that this sharing of talent between the USWA and Mid-South Wrestling is what makes the UWF so great. Throughout the match we hear Jim Ross wondering if Blackjack is going to be one of Kevin’s partners in the upcoming 6 Man World Title Match against the Sheiks as Kevin has been very secret on this matter over the last week. Ernie Ladd says that Kevin hasn’t said much because he has no friends and he will NEVER find two partners stupid enough to tag with him against the likes of the Sheiks. As for the match, the trouble really began for the Kiniskis before the bell sounded as the attacked Kevin and BJ early. This fighting style is just up Mulligan’s ally and together with Kevin, they pummeled the Kiniski brothers. The finish came when Blackjack had Kelly in the Brain Claw and tagged in Kevin for a huge VonErich Death Leap. Kevin and Blackjack head over to the interview desk where Blackjack is screaming about how he can’t stand Hacksaw Reed, Crusher Blackwell and Ken Patera. He couldn’t think of anything lower than three Americans siding with some Arab just for money. All of a sudden, Akbar comes out and he is actually laughing. Skandar Akbar: You two are funny guys. Very funny! You sit here up on your high horse about being Patriots while Kevin here was born with a silver spoon in his mouth as Daddy runs the company and Blackjack can’t seem to stay in a place for more than a couple of months as he just runs to the money each and every time. Well it is obvious that you two Cowboys are alone and I am not surprised that you couldn’t find anyone to join you but let me remind you that on May 4th, you will be facing my 3 monsters. Boys why don’t you come out. As Reed, Patera and Blackwell come out, Kevin informs everyone that they do have another teammate and he will be here in just one second. The Sheiks laugh as they think this is all a rues. CRACK….. the sound of a bull whip is heard and the crowd pops. Jim Ross: oh bawh Gawd! It’s Stan “The Man” Hansen. With Hansen cracking the whip and Blackjack and Kevin ready to attack, Akbar and his men make a quick exit. Stan Hansen: Look at Em Run! Well in Dallas, Texas and the Cotton Bowl, these three Cowboys will have you surrounded with no place to hide. We going to rip those towels off your heads and stick em down your throat! Oh and by the way, we will also be taking back our titles! Even Ernie Ladd is now excited for this match as he and Ross hype it up as we go to break. ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- Hacksaw Jim Duggan comes to the interview desk in a white tuxedo, sunglasses and his trusty 2 x 4. He starts by saying TedDibiase thinks that the cloths make the man and that the better you are dressed the more respect you are given. Duggan begins to rip the tuxedo to threads as he is screaming into the mic “that is a load of garbage!” These people here know I pour my heart and soul into each match for them. I respect them and they respect me and I will be damned if I will let a lowlife dressed in a monkey suit take my title. Dibiase’s motto is “the cloths make the man.” I have a different motto. A motto that this country has lived by. “Speak softly and carry a big stick. Dibiase, on May 4th in the Cotton Bowl you are going to know what this Big Stick feels like! MATCH: THE SOUTHERN REBELS (Buddy Roberts & Tom Prichard in Confederate flag masks) VS RANDY BABBER & JIMMY DEL RAY The Rebels enter the ring to Hank Williams Jr. and “A Country Boy Can Survive” and this has the Tulsa crowd hooked from the get go. The Rebels beat up on the jobbers here and the end comes in about 4 minutes when Rebel #1 caught Barber with a Running Bulldog. Before our next match both Ross and Ladd hype up how stacked this tag team division is getting and the Rebels have just made it even tougher. Ross rattles off the Road Warriors, The Perfect Alliance, the Tennessee Studs, The Rat Pack, the Sheiks, the Kiwi Sheepherders and now the Southern Rebels! ------------------COMMERCIAL BREAK/PROMOS----------------- MAIN EVENT JYD & BILLY JACK VS THE KIWI SHEEPHERDERS (Rip Morgan & Jonathan Boyd) This one is hot from the get go as Rip Morgan attacks Billy Jack with the flag pole before the match does start. Somehow order is restored and the ref calls for the bell and the match gets officially underway. Unfortunately for the fans, we run out of time before we get a decision here but anyone who saw it would call it a true brawl! Jim Ross: So long from Tulsa!
