  2. Due to a crazy work schedule the past two weeks I've gotten behind so this week's tv will be presented in recap form World Class Championship Wrestling TV Recorded at the Sportatorium in Dallas, TX on 3/20 Airing on Friday 3/28 on WTVT throughout Texas And various outlets across the Southwest. Hosted by Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard Ring Announcer/Interviewer: Marc Lowrance Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard open the show with highlights from the debut of JYD in San Antonio last week teaming with Mr. Olympia, we then see highlights of the Kerry/Lance Von Erich taking on Kamala/Kokina elimination tag match with Kamala's handler Friday attacking Kerry Von Erich post match before being revealed to be TERRY FUNK who was barred from the building. Marc Lowrance interviewed Fritz Von Erich who says due to Terry Funk showing up after being barred from the building all three of the Funks are suspended for 30 days! Fritz says the Funks can only return after April 28th, and only after they agree to face Kerry/Kevin/Lance in a six man tag team match! Fritz says that Kevin is healed up and almost ready to return but he's instructed Kerry and Lance to take the week off to recover from the recent attacks by Gary Hart's men. MATCH #1: Kamala w/Gary Hart & Friday pinned Brian Armstrong after a big splash Post match: Gary Hart says the feeble attempt by Fritz Von Erich to protect his boys will not work because the Funks will gladly accept a match with the Von Erichs, in fact go ahead and set the date right now for May 3rd in Houston, TX. In the meantime, Kamala is going to take the Canadian International Heavyweight title from Jacques Rougeau tomorrow night in Ft. Worth. Onyx Express say they are looking forward to facing the Grapplers this week in Ft. Worth to determine the #1 Contender's to the North American Tag Team titles, and once they get past the Grapplers they are ready to taste gold in Texas! MATCH #2: The Onyx Express (Koko Ware/Brickhouse Brown) defeated Gary Young/The Blue Cyclone when Ware pinned Cyclone after a dropkick off the 2nd rope As the show returns from commercial Pringle/Dirty Rhodes/Rod Price join Marc Lowrance at ringside….Rhodes says that today in the main event he and Big John Studd will not only beat Lawler and Martel they will humiliate them to the point they will never show their face in Rhodes' home state again and speaking of his home state, Rhodes issues a challenge to Mr. Olympia for the Texas Championship because he says if ANYONE should be Texas Champion it should be him! Pringle says that the Dynasty is the biggest thing going in wrestling today! MATCH #3: "California Stud" Rod Price w/Percival Pringle & Dirty Rhodes pinned Ranger Ross after a 'hot shot' In the locker room: Marc Lowrance spoke to Jerry Lawler and NWA World Champion Rick Martel. Martel says that he's fought Studd before and he's not afraid to go toe to toe with him no matter how big he is, and he said this time now that the odds are even, Dirty Rhodes will submit to the Boston Crab like he should have last week. Lawler says that he's looking forward to getting his hands on Studd and Rhodes tonight but is even more excited to be getting a North American title shot tomorrow night in Ft. Worth with Percy Pringle hanging in a cage from the ceiling above the ring…..he just hopes they have extra supports in place to hold that cage up with Percy in it….he concludes that BIG John Studd might be about six inches shorter once he gets piledriven by the King! MATCH #4: Junk Yard Dog w/Mr. Olympia pinned "Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin w/Precious & Eric Embry after a THUMP powerslam Afterwards in the dressing room Garvin is beside himself after getting pinned by JYD, knowing they have a rematch for the North American tag titles tomorrow night that will be a Lumberjack Match due to them walking out last week….Embry tells him to calm down everything will be fine….Garvin asks him how can he say that….Embry says he has a plan that came to him in a DREAM…..Garvin shakes his head and said whose coming now Jason Voorhees?? Embry rubs his chin and replied, "Don't be silly Jimmy….if it's a dream it would have to be Freddy." Garvin shoves past Embry and leaves the room….Precious looks at Embry and says "you better really have a plan Eric!" MATCH #5: MAIN EVENT TAG TEAM CHALLENGE MATCH Jerry 'the King' Lawler/Rick Martel defeat The Pringle Dynasty (Studd/Rhodes) w/Percival Pringle III when Martel makes Rhodes submit to the Boston Crab © 1986 Southwest Sports Inc. 3. I got behind due to being busy with life and when I clicked on this link friday when I was going back and reading shows and saw my own feedback being responded to, I didn't realize a new show had been posted....it was not intended to be a slight on your show nor anything intentional. Another great show....I'll admit I didn't watch Japanese wrestling from this time period so a lot of this guys I have no clue about other then the handful who went on to big stars or prominent into the 90's, such as the first match on this card, otherwise I'm typically drawn to the matches featuring Americans I'm familiar with. I would have went out of my way to see the Machines vs. Patera/Blackwell/Spivey. I really like Hickerson and Shaw as the Danger Zone and am enjoying following their progress in Japan. The team of Simmons, Cameron, and Finlay are tailor made for Japan and I'm looking forward to seeing the team of Bigelow/OMG/Bossman take on the Machines next time around! Bigelow vs. Tenryu made for a great match that I took a lot of interest in since I used them both on my shows while you were away and the match certainly lived up to expectations and then some.
  4. What a great show! Nice win for Orndorff over Sammartino. I'm the opposite of LowBlow when it comes to Austin Idol, I grew up on Austin Idol in both Memphis and Southeastern...not the best in ring worker by any stretch but his charisma and promo skills made up for that and he came off like a big star wherever he went and this sorta win over someone the caliber of Tully Blanchard shoots him right to the head of the class here in Mid Atlantic, I love it!! The Road Warriors are a great choice for World Tag Team Champions as in this area they would spike ticket sales in any area they go to. They can come in and beat your top heels but not kill their heat because of their aura. Loved the Flair/Race match here as it continues to show that Race can still hang with the best in the game and as everyone loves to chant today, "he's still got it." I'm so glad to see the push of Wendell Cooley, he's another guy I grew up watching in Memphis and Continental (and later Mid South via tape trading) and I've always thought he could have been a much bigger star in the business if used correctly. I did ok booking him in Continental but when I started booking Texas he got lost in the shuffle with the Von Erichs and company.
  5. She's been in the game for a while, she's on the Free Agent list as Fallen Angel.
  6. Rain, you have one of the most versatile rosters in the game right now! Something for everyone, brawlers, high flyers, technicians, veterans, rookies, mixed with big names, and tons of internatinal flavor. These last two cards really highlight that so well. I love the team of Saito/Zybysko. I agree that Pillman vs. Tanaka absolutely works as a main in Calgary. Piper vs. Jake is such a great fued with so much potential.
  7. Great main event with Owen/Jacques. This throws even more fuel on the Owen vs. Santana fire! Can't wait to hear what Owen has to say about. Chicky Starr continues to be my favorite character in the WWC.
  8. Slater is a perfect fit with Cornette for the moment, should fun to watch him do the Midnight's dirty work. I absolutely love "Dr. D" taking an interest in Baby Doll, Luger is going to be in for some fierce matches soon it looks like. I like the pairing of Bullet Bob and Ron Fuller but the Bullet better watch his back and not be too quick to trust the Tennessee Stud!.
  9. I thought Warrior vs. Adrian Street was the most unique match ever in game....until I saw Benoit vs. Mascaras in a falls count anywhere match...fun stuff! Benoit is going to "made" ten years sooner in our world than in real life and that's not a bad thing! I loved the Adonis vs. Borne feud and glad to see Borne get the strap. I think this Tonga's year to become a major force in the NWA, Martel better keep an eye on him!
  10. Great recap of Mania and what a clever way to tie up loose ends with the Heenan Family with that promo. Loved it!
  11. Excellent show, you have a knack for playing to people's strengths...this a great build for Singh and establishes him as a dangerous madman for those unfamiliar with him. I also like what you're doing with Harley Race here, many people wrote Harley off as "over the hill" in this era but in my opinion he was still a solid worker til around '88 where injuries started to catch up with him. I love the Stud Stable promos you've got them pat, the Horsemen as well. Greensboro is going to be another can't miss show!
  12. Wow, it's ridiculous how better that was than the "real life" Wrestlemania. I agree with everyone else Windham/Savage stole the show and Windham should be a made man in WWF after this. Great battle royal to open the show, Gang winning was great and you still put the shine on Gantner in the end. Andre vs. Hansen was memorable and establishes Andre as more than just an attraction. The Hart Foundation are red hot and Hogan vs. Dibiase was exactly what it needed to be at this stage. Excellent work!
  13. Wild West Wrestling Billy Bob's Texas Ft. Worth, Texas Tuesday Mar 25, 1986 Special Bell Time: 7:30pm Bruce Prichard came to the ring and informed the crowd that after his actions last week during the main event, 'Hot Stuff' Eddie Gilbert has been fined, suspended, and stripped of the Wild West Championship. A 16 man tournament to crown a new champion will begin here next week! Koko Ware pinned Gary Young after a missile dropkick from the top rope The Missing Link pinned "Killer" Tim Brooks after a charging head butt The Nasty Boys (Knobbs/Saggs) defeated The Batten Twins (Brad/Bart) when Knobbs pinned Bart after a low blow behind the ref's back Mr. Wrestling 2 pinned Super Zodiac after a running knee lift SEMI-MAIN EVENT NWA World Lightheavyweight Championship Chris Benoit pinned Chris Candido w/Percy Pringle with a bridging German Suplex to retain the title MAIN EVENT Wild West Tag Team Championship The Long Riders (Bill/Scott Irwin) defeated The Devil's Duo (Jeff Swords/Doug Vines) when Scott pinned Vines after a leg drop from the 2nd rope
  14. World Class Championship Wrestling Freeman Coliseum San Antonio, TX Saturday March 22, 1986 Bell time: 8pm WCCW Television Championship: Rematch 15 Minute Time Limit "White Lightning" Tim Horner pinned "California Stud" Rod Price with the 'natural bridge' in 13:32 The Dream Team (Jack Victory/John Tatum) w/Luscious Johnny V. defeated The Southern Boys (Steve Armstrong/Tracy Smothers) when Tatum pinned Smothers with a school boy roll up and a handful of tights "Iceman" King Parsons pinned The Super Destroyer with a sunset flip TAG TEAM REMATCH (Percy Pringle barred from ringside) The Onyx Express (Brickhouse Brown/Koko Ware) defeated The Grapplers (#1/#2) when Ware pinned Grappler #2 after a dropkick off the top rope Jerry 'the King' Lawler pinned Boris Zhukov after a piledriver Mr. Olympia came to ringside alone….then he stopped and looked up the aisle as 'Another One Bites the Dust' by Queen blared over the PA….the crowd went wild as the Junk Yard Dog made his way to the ring!! SEMI-MAIN EVENT NWA North American Tag Team Championship Mr. Olympia/Junk Yard Dog defeated "Flamboyant" Eric Embry/"Gorgeous" Jimmy Garvin w/Precious by count out when Garvin and Embry walked out on the match at 14:39 MAIN EVENT REVENGE ELIMINATION MATCH (THE FUNKS ARE BARRED FROM THE BUILDING) Kerry/Lance Von Erich Vs. Kamala/The Mighty Kokina w/Playboy Gary Hart & Friday After 13 minutes of action, Gary Hart tripped Lance Von Erich allowing Kamala to hit the big splash on him getting the pinfall and eliminating Lance….This gave Kamala and Kokina a two on one advantage for several minutes until Kerry was able to avoid an avalanche splash in the corner from Kokina as Kokina staggered out of the corner Kerry managed to bodyslam Kokina and cover him for the 1-2-3 eliminating Kokina from the match at 16:01. Kamala went in for the kill on Kerry and worked him over for several minutes…..Kamala hit the big splash on Kerry but rather then pin him, Gary Hart told Kamala to go to the top rope and "end him for good"…..Kamala slowly climbed to the top rope and come off with a huge splash…..that missed as Kerry rolled out of the way…..as Kamala struggled to get to his feet, Kerry hit the ropes and came off with a discus punch that put Kamala down for the 1-2-3 in 21:34 Winner: "Modern Day Warrior" Kerry Von Erich After the match, Kerry took the microphone and yelled at Gary Hart who was in the aisle with Kamala, "You tell the Funks when they get the guts to come back, the Von Erichs will be waiting on them!" As he finishes that sentence, Friday runs in and attacks Kerry from behind with a chair…..Friday then takes Kerry and piledrives him on the chair…..just as Lance Von Erich slides in and snatches the mask off of Friday's head revealing TERRY FUNK who has been at ringside the entire match…..Funk laughs maniacally as he leaves ringside with Gary Hart and Kamala as Lance turns his attention to helping Kerry.
  15. World Class Championship Wrestling TV Recorded at the Sportatorium in Dallas, TX on 3/20 Airing on Friday 3/21 on WTVT throughout Texas And various outlets across the Southwest. Hosted by Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard Ring Announcer/Interviewer: Marc Lowrance (Opening montage rolls…and go to ringside with Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard) Mercer: "Welcome once again everyone to the World Famous Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas for another edition of World Class Championship Wrestling! We have an extraordinary card for you here tonight as the NWA World Heavyweight Champion Rick Martel will be here in action tonight against Percy Pringle's 'Texas Dream' Dirty Rhodes." Prichard: "What an exciting match that will be and we'll also see Percy's tag team the Grapplers in action!" Mercer: "Not to mention the brand new WCCW Television Champion 'White Lightning' Tim Horner will put the title on the line against yet another member of the Pringle Dynasty, 'California Stud' Rod Price. We'll be showing you footage later on of Horner defeating Eddie Gilbert for that title." Prichard: "The Pringle Dynasty is dominating the NWA and we'll be hearing from Percy shortly." Mercer: "All that and more but right now I want to welcome in the new NWA Texas Champion, Mr. Olympia." (Olympia joins them wearing the Texas Championship belt) Prichard: "Welcome Mr. Olympia, you must be quite proud to be the man who dethroned 'Dr. D' David Shultz for that title." Olympia: "Very proud indeed, I don't think many people thought I could beat David Shultz, but I taught those people the same lesson I taught 'Dr. D'…..never underestimate Mr. Olympia!" (Eric Embry enters the shot, wearing his NWA North American tag team title) Embry: "First of all Mr. Olympian, don't come out here and disparage the good name of my personal friend David Shultz, he's done a lot for me and my partner Jimmy Garvin and I don't appreciate you out here bragging about the fact you stole his Texas title." Olympia: "Look here Embry, I'm not out here bragging or saying anything bad about David Shultz, I take nothing away from the man….he's one of the toughest wrestlers in the game today….but I didn't steal that title from him, I beat him fair and square!" Embry: "There you go again out here bragging…..the man is no longer here to defend himself or he would take that title from you….but since he's no longer in Texas, how about I take that title from you myself!" Olympia: "Are you challenging me for the Texas title?" Embry: "Obviously, what are you stupid or something? Is that mask too tight on your head? Yes, I'm challenging you for the Texas title…right here tonight!" Olympia: "Hmm…interesting. I'll give you a title shot tonight on one condition…..if I win…and I will….if I win, I can choose anyone I want as a partner to challenge you and Garvin for those tag titles tomorrow night in San Antonio." Embry: "You're on Mr. Olympian, nobody likes you anyway so you probably couldn't find a partner to tag with you but it doesn't matter anyway because you're going to lose and I'm going to be the brand new Texas Champion! Then I'll be tag champ AND Texas Champ……then I might even challenge Nick Mantell for the World title too!" Mercer: "Alright, we'll see if that match gets signed by Frank Dusek but right now let's go to the ring and see the King in action!" MATCH #1: Jerry 'the King' Lawler pinned Gary Young after a piledriver/fist drop combo (Post Match: Marc Lowrance approaches Jerry Lawler) Marc: "Last week in Amarillo, you came very close to defeating Big John Studd for the North American title had it not been for interference from Percy Pringle." Lawler: "That's right Marc, I would be your North American champion right now if it wasn't for that fat slob Percy Pringle….but one day soon I'll get the so called Studd, more like that the Dudd in the ring and I will add that title to the King's trophy collection and if I get half a chance I'm going to knock 50 pounds off Percy Pringle!" COMMERCIALS MATCH #2: The Grapplers (#1/#2) w/Percival Pringle III defeated Action Jackson/Ranger Ross when Grappler #2 pinned Jackson after a swinging neckbreaker (Post Match: Bruce Prichard approaches Percy Pringle) Bruce: "Percy, did you hear the awful comments earlier from Jerry Lawler?" Percy: "Bruce, I certainly did and I could only expect that sort of low brow classlessness from somebody from Memphis, Tennessee who has the audacity to call himself 'the King'….everyone knows there's only one real King from Memphis and he's been dead since '77. Jerry Lawler was lucky to even escape in one piece after facing the 'Giant' John Studd….I saved his life by interfering in that match before Studd finished him off for good….enough about that goof. Ask me something else." Bruce: "This week the Grapplers will face a team they soundly defeated in Amarillo, the Onyx Express." Percy: "Thank you for mentioning the fact they beat those guys like a drum, it was a tremendous return for the Grapplers and they will do an encore this week in San Antonio when they beat those two guys again." Bruce: "I understand that the Pringle Dynasty is hopping a plan to Canada later tonight to grace the fans of Lutte once again." Percy: "Oh Bruce, they love us in Canada! They jump up and cheer and toss the babies in the air when we come out because they respect great talent in Lutte. The Pringle Dynasty are doing BIG things in Lutte, in fact Dirty Rhodes is so well thought of up there that I've convinced the matchmaker to make tonight's match with Rick Martel to be for the NWA World Championship! Not to mention that Rod Price will be walking out of here the new Television Champion….it's going to be a HUGE night for the Pringle Dynasty and then we'll go celebrate with all our beloved fans in Canada." Bruce: "That's huge news Percy, best of luck to Dirty Rhodes and safe travels to Canada!" Mercer: "Percy, what are you talking about? The fans in Lutte despise you guys just like they do here in Texas." Percy: "Mercer how dare you?? You're a liar, you've never been there you don't know what you're talking about, I'm out of here I don't have to take this crap from you!" (VTR: Footage airs from Amarillo of Tim Horner pinning "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert to win the WCCW Television Championship) Mercer: "There you saw the footage of Tim Horner defeating Eddie Gilbert to win the Television title, Gilbert was so devastated by the loss that he's apparently left Texas and I don't know when or if we'll ever see 'Hot Stuff' again." Prichard: "I'm not touching that one Mercer, let's go to the ring and see the man who Percy Pringle says will be our next Television champion in action, 'California Stud' Rod Price." MATCH #3: WCCW Television Championship "White Lightning" Tim Horner fought "California Stud" Rod Price w/Percival Pringle III to a 10 minute time limit draw COMMERCIALS MATCH #4: NWA Texas Championship (If Olympia wins, he and a partner of his choosing get a tag title shot) Mr. Olympia pinned "Flamboyant" Eric Embry w/Precious with a backslide…….Jimmy Garvin storms the ring after the 3 count but Olympia has already rolled out of the ring and has the Texas title raised high in the air, Garvin is seen arguing with Embry about the loss (A commercial airs of Marc Lowrance running down the card for San Antonio tomorrow night) World Class Championship Wrestling Freeman Coliseum San Antonio, TX Saturday March 22, 1986 Bell time: 8pm MAIN EVENT REVENGE ELIMINATION MATCH (THE FUNKS BARRED FROM THE BUILDING) Kerry/Lance Von Erich Vs. "California Stud" Rod Price *Card Subject to Change* MATCH #5: MAIN EVENT NWA World Championship Rick Martel defeated "The Texas Dream" Dirty Rhodes w/Percival Pringle III by submission with a 'Boston Crab'….As Martel was getting his hand raised, Big John Studd ran in and attacked Martel…he worked him over for a few moments until Jerry Lawler ran with a chair and cracked Studd across the back sending him over the top to the floor……Lawler grabbed the mic and told the World Champ if he would be here next week, how bout the King and the Champ team up to take on "the Wannabe Dream and Big John Dudd"….Pringle accepted on his men's behalf and we have a HUGE main event set for next week! © 1986 Southwest Sports Inc.
  16. WCCW releases Doug Gilbert and Tommy Gilbert and picks up two jobber packs 1: Brian Armstrong/Scott Armstrong/Johnny Ace 2: Action Jackson/Gary Young/Ranger Ross
  17. All in fun my friend.....just seen the opportunity to pull a classic Eddie Gilbert hot headed stunt behind the scenes as he was known to do...frequently.....as I was telling someone else earlier, I like to throw myself these sort of curves every now and then just to give a dose of "reality" since in real life everything didn't go as planned and sometimes you had to shift plans and change on the fly due to unexpected departures and such....keeps me on my toes. I've been wanting to do something crazy with Eddie and saw this as a prime opportunity.....As an aside, the original plan was for this to come back in a Cage Match with Eddie and Doug vs. The Steiners in a cage with a roof on top (ala Last Battle in Atlanta) to play off Eddie climbing into the cage in this match and prevent interference with The Long Riders trying to help but unable to penetrate the cage...but now we'll see where things go. Hey, now...
  18. ***BREAKING NEWS from the WCCW tv tapings in Dallas*** Huge news coming out of Dallas tonight at the TV Tapings. Fritz Von Erich approached Eddie Gilbert when he arrived at the Sportatorium this afternoon and told him due to backlash over his booking, he is being replaced by Gary Hart as booker of Wild West Wrestling and Assistant Booker of World Class. Eddie was livid and responded with, "You mean to tell me because some smart mark asshole bitched in a dirt sheet about me climbing into a cage, you're firing me as booker!?!" Fritz replied there had been a lot negative feedback to his booking and it wasn't just the cage finish, but he still wanted him to wrestle for him. Eddie fired back, "Who gives a shit what smart marks think about the booking? Success is measured in ticket sales and the crowds have gotten bigger EVERY week at the bar, which by the way I set up to run!!" Fritz said, "you're still the champ, you're just not the booker anymore." Eddie said, "F*** you and f*** your the belt...If I'm not the booker then I'm not your champ and I'm out of here!" Eddie stormed out and moments later....Eddie, Missy Hyatt, Doug Gilbert, Tommy Gilbert, and the Steiner Brothers all left the arena and did not return. Eddie was supposed to wrestle Tim Horner in a rematch for the Television title but had to be replaced by Rod Price. The Steiners were supposed to be finishing up soon but it looks like they finished up a little sooner than expected. Doug and Tommy Gilbert were hired as a favor to Eddie so it's not likely they will return.
  19. If King Tonga goes off the deep end NO ONE will be able to stop him. Pretty ballsy of Paul E to talk smack in Matt Borne's face but he had to know Borne wouldn't stand for that...Borne humilates the TV champ but it may just backfire on him. Pringle and his guys seem to enjoy their time in Lutte, which may be bad news for a few.
  20. Luger/Dick Murdoch/Ray Candy has to be the greatest odd ball team EVER! Great stuff from Corny and the Midnights as always, looking forward to the Rock & Roll Express getting their hands on them! Glad to see Brad Armstrong doing well here, he and Martel could have a classic scientific title match at some point. The Andersons always find a way but they had to dig deep into their bag of tricks to survive the Road Warriors.
  21. Great win for the Pringle Dynasty! Adrian Adonis is really making a name for himself here in Lutte.
  22. What a tremendous card you have lined up! Can't wait for Bam Bam vs Ayala! Barrabas better watch it, he doesn't want to get on Bam Bam's bad side.
  23. Wow, well my shit booking is inspired by Eddie Gilbert's Continental run and Memphis Wrestling...I thought everything Vince Russo ever did was fucking garbage including the Attitude era....I'll do better next time.
  24. Wild West Wrestling Billy Bob's Texas Ft. Worth, Texas Tuesday Mar 18, 1986 Special Bell Time: 7:30pm Steve Doll pinned Inferno #2 with small package REMATCH Hot Property (Billy Travis/Joe Savoldi) defeated the Blond Bombers (Chris Candido/Rod Price) w/Percy Pringle when Savoldi pinned Price with a backslide Mr. Wrestling 2 pinned The Inferno #1 with a running knee lift, After the match Inferno #2 and Eddie Gilbert ran in and attacked Wrestling 2, the Infernos held Mr. Wrestling 2 while Gilbert slapped him in the face and then went to unmask him but was ran off by the Steiner Brothers who hit the rings chairs in hand TAG TEAM CHALLENGE MATCH The Devil's Duo (Doug Vines/Jeff Swords) defeated The Missing Link/Spike Huber when Vines pinned Huber with his feet on the ropes SEMI-MAIN EVENT GRUDGE MATCH Lance Von Erich fought Jimmy Jack Funk to a DOUBLE COUNTOUT MAIN EVENT STEEL CAGE MATCH WILD WEST TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP The Long Riders (Bill/Scott Irwin) defeated The Steiner Brothers (Rick/Scott) when Eddie Gilbert climbed into the cage and threw a fireball into the face of Scott Steiner allowing Bill Irwin to get the pinfall and win the titles
  25. ***World Class Championship Wrestling News*** Eddie Gilbert has been booking both Wild West Wrestling and World Class until Dusty Rhodes arrives later this month. His booking has received mixed reviews, while it has been exciting and drawing well, a lot of the dirt sheets and old timers criticize Gilbert for booking too many run ins and DQ finishes. However, Gilbert has called in some favors already that is helping out the promotion such as his friend Jerry Lawler coming in as well as some big names that will be debuting this month and after the first of April. However the promotion has suffered a couple of big losses with the announcement that Dusty is coming in to book the territory. The first two people to turn in their notice were Bad News Allen and David Shultz who were both being pushed and Fritz had high hopes for both of them in the long term. Ronnie Garvin has also given notice although nothing to do with Rhodes coming in, he just got a better offer from Verne Gagne to come to the AWA. The Steiners time in WCCW is coming to a close, however Ray Traylor is set to come in for a while splitting his time between Texas and Japan, it's unknown at this time what name he will be using during his time in Texas. It's been said that Dusty has an idea for what he calls the most dangerous match in the history of wrestling, he says he pitched it to both Bill Watts and Verne Gagne but neither were interested in using it, he says since he will be booking in Texas he plans to bring it out this Summer and that it should prove to be a huge draw with the feuds he has in mind.
