Great card from top to bottom. Great use of the Guerreros here, Scorpio had to learn and improve working with Mando. I love seeing Al Perez continue to shine in the AWA, I secretly hope he can someday make his way down to Texas.
-
I like the finish with Jumbo and Tenryu....Great win for Tiger Mask...Awesome tournament, not sure you could get away with that tournament final ending in the States but I feel like it works in Japan.
-
Shaska Whatley is a perfect fit for Ladd's group! Great main event!
-
Great job with the TV, it feels so authentic! Loving the Rock Riddle promos, I can hear them so clear in his voice as I read them. Glad to see the Fullers get some love outside the Southeast....The Stud Stable has a ton of potential here! SOLID card for Greensboro! Every match a must see...though I'm most excited for the Andersons vs. the Freebirds!
-
As always the Sports Shop is my favorite part of the show, I enjoy it all but I'm really a fan of Chicky Starr and this angle with Owen Hart is one of my favorit things in the game right now. I haven't gotten to see a ton of WWC but you do an awesome job with it...I grew up with Memphis being my favorite promotion and didn't realize until I got older it was exactly the way you described WWC, there was no real depth to the actual wrestling it was all just great promos and angles with punching and kicking in between but you do an amazing job of making me want to see who is going to punch who next.
-
Rumble in the Bronx was well written and I love that Gino won! Stan Hansen is such a great opponent for Hogan.
-
Having lived in the South all my life I'd never really seen anything from Lutte but I've recently found some stuff on youtube and have really enjoyed and it's given me an even greater appreciation for the awesome job you're doing here capturing the feel of that show while still making it your own. Great series of shows Paul E, Adonis, and the Nasties make for a fun stable.
-
Saito vs. Sawyer is a fun match up Nord/Cactus is a great pairing as a team, tons of potential here! Bockwinkel vs. Spivey is a solid main event.

Sorry guys, been a crazy week with all the weather issues here in Alabama and then last night I went to Nashville to ROH....I'm going to get caught up on feedback tonight and tomorrow. ====================================================================== World Class Championship Wrestling TV Recorded at the Sportatorium in Dallas, TX on 1/16 Airing on Friday 1/18 on WTVT throughout Texas And various outlets across the Southwest. Hosted by Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard Ring Announcer/Interviewer: Marc Lowrance (Bill Mercer/Bruce Prichard welcome everyone to WCCW) Mercer: "We have a tremendous show for your this evening as we will see a huge grudge match for the Television Championship with 'Gorgeous' Jimmy Garvin w/Precious defending against 'Iceman' King Parsons." Prichard: "That's going to be a barn burner and we also have Johnny V's Dream Team in action against 'Exotic' Adrian Street and 'Superstar' Bill Dundee." Mercer: "We also have news about an exciting live television event that will air next Wednesday January 22nd, WCCW presents 'Bar Room Brawl' live from Gilley's Bar in Pasadena, Texas….it's going to be a wild show airing live right here on WTVT throughout Texas!" Prichard: "Not to mention the huge card this Saturday night in Amarillo that will feature a Steel Cage Match for the NWA North American Championship as Kevin Von Erich defends against Big John Studd w/Percy Pringle." ('Nature Boy' Ric Flair enters stage right) Flair: "WOOOOOOO! Wild Bill Mercer….you two have been rambling on for all this time and you haven't mentioned the biggest news of all that the greatest NWA World Heavyweight Champion of all time the 'Nature Boy' himself is here live and in living color in Dallas, Texas." Mercer: "Well Ric, we were building towards that…saving the best for last I guess." Flair: (smiles) "Good save there Mr. Bill…..How appropriate you should say 'save the best for last' because the 'Nature Boy' is not only the best….but he is the MAIN EVENT everywhere I go…..I'm your rightful uncrowned World Champion, I was ripped off up there in Canada, Bruce Prichard by those biased officials and I stand here before you the uncrowned champion of the world….however, belt or no belt I'm still the very best this sport has to offer and the greatest living World Champion in wrestling today and I'm here to issue my 'Nature Boy Main Event Open Challenge' to ANYBODY who thinks that they can walk that aisle and hang with the best." (Dory Funk Jr. enters stage left) Dory: "Ric, there's no doubt that you are a great wrestler….you truly are. There's no doubt that you are a main event wrestler because you most certainly are….but to call yourself the greatest NWA World Champion alive? I take exception to that." Flair: (laughing) "Oh is that right, Junior? You take exception to that? Well here's how this challenge works…big man. When it's main event time, the Nature Boy will be in that ring where I'm the best thing going today and all you have to do is walk that aisle and I will prove to you and everybody in Texas that I am exactly what I say I am…..and that's the uncrowned World Champion and the greatest wrestler in the world today! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!" COMMERCIAL (Marc Lowrance is in the dressing room with Gary Hart and Makhan Singh) Lowrance: "Since returning to World Class, Gary Hart you've brought us Austin Idol….you've brought us the Mighty Kokina, and most recently this man Makhan Singh…..tonight I hear there's more." Hart: "That's Marc, the hits keep on coming because this man right here….as big as he is……as dangerous as he is…..wait until you meet his "little brother" Ottmhan Singh….Von Erichs, those Six Man tag titles are as good as ours." MATCH #1: Makhan/Ottmhan Singh w/Gary Hart defeated Mega Man/Mr. BoJangles when Ottmhan pinned Mega Man after a running powerslam (Footage airs from last Saturday in Houston of the masked man attacking Bad News Allen before the No DQ Texas Championship match and then clips of the match featuring Garvin winning the title and the masked man being revealed as 'Dr. D' David Shultz: Afterwards Bruce Prichard is in the dressing room with the new NWA Texas Champion Ronnie Garvin) Prichard: "Ronnie Garvin, we just saw footage of the attack by David Shultz that resulted in you winning the Texas championship…." (Before Prichard can finish that sentence Jimmy Garvin, Eric Embry, and Precious come in carrying their bags just now arriving to the building) Ronnie: "Where the hell have you been and why haven't you answered your phone all week?" Jimmy: "What's the matter big brother? We've been on the road? I haven't been home to get any messages….what are you so hot about?" Ronnie: "You know damn well what I'm hot about! Why did you pay that lowlife David Shultz to attack Bad News Allen before MY match?" Eric: "Lowlife? The guys a doctor…." Ronnie: "Shut up! This doesn't concern you! Jimmy, I didn't need any help beating Bad News Allen, now everybody is running around here saying the only reason I'm the Texas Champion is because David Shultz attacked him." Jimmy: "Ok, first of all there's no need to be hateful to Eric….Second of all, who says I paid David Shultz to do anything? There's no proof of that. That's a pretty harsh accusation, brother. For all we know Shultz has his own issues with Bad News….the guy isn't exactly likable, ya know…. Regardless of WHY he attacked him the fact is, it served us well. You're the champion and from what I hear, Bad News Allen will not be stepping the ring for a long, long time….if ever again." Ronnie: "Either way, I don't like it! I don't need help to fight my battles or win titles and I'm going to find Fritz Von Erich and tell him I want David Shultz in the ring the first chance I get…..and if I find out that you did pay for that to happen and you're lying to me about it…..you and I are going to have a serious problem, you got that?" Jimmy: "Of course Ronnie, you know I wouldn't lie to you….you're family." Ronnie: "I'm going to find Fritz and ask for a match with Shultz." (Ronnie storms out of the dressing room) Eric: "But Jimmy…..you DID pay Shultz to attack Bad News." Jimmy: "Technically I'm not lying….I gave YOU the money and YOU gave it to him…so I didn't lie…I didn't pay Shultz." Eric: "Oh….yeah about that….I didn't give him the money yet." Jimmy: "What? Why not? Go give it to him right now, that guy is a lunatic…he's going to want him money." Eric: "Problem is Jimmy, I don't have it anymore." Jimmy: "Eric…what do you mean you don't have it anymore? I gave you five grand cash money to give him." Eric: "Well see, I had the money and was headed to go give it to him but I stopped off at Panchos for some chimachangas….I love them chimachangas." Precious: "Eric, we know you love the damn chimachangas…..get to the point, where's the money!!" Eric: "Well, I met this chick at Panchos and she wanted to……you know…..stay over…and when I woke up the next morning she was gone and so was the money." Jimmy: "What?? You let some bimbo steal MY money?? Shultz is going to kill us! You better get out of here right now and don't come back until you find five grand!! Go…hurry up go get it!" Eric: "I'm kinda cash poor right now, Jimmy……you know I just fixed my transmission…(Precious interupts) Precious: "Then you better go beg, borrow, or steal it…..but GO GET IT!!!!" (Eric flees) COMMERCIAL MATCH #2: The Dream Team w/Johnny V & Brian Adams defeated Superstar" Bill Dundee/"Exotic" Adrian Street w/Ms. Linda when Tatum pinned Dundee after Brian Adams hit him from outside when the referee was distracted……Afterwards while the Dream Team was celebrating in the ring The Moondogs attacked and sent them running from ringside while Johnny V pulled Adams away by the arm as he seemingly wanted to go back and fight the Moondogs himself (Backstage: Marc Lowrance is joined by Big John Studd and Percival Pringle III) Marc: "I'm joined by Big John Studd and Percy Pringle. Mr. Studd, this Saturday you will step into the ring with Kevin Von Erich challenging for the NWA North American Championship inside a steel cage and Matchmaker Frank Dusek has barred Austin Idol from the building." Studd: "First of all, you refer to me as the 'Giant' John Studd because I'm the only true giant in the world of wrestling and this time next week you'll also refer to me as the North American Champion because everybody has seen I've got the Von Erich's number….I'm the one that crippled Mike Von Erich and ended his career and I'm going to do the same this Saturday night for Kevin Von Erich!" Pringle: "Yes, yes, yes Marc Lowrance and then after we leave Amarillo…we're going to the Bar Room Brawl at Gilley's Bar….my newest signee "California Stud" Rod Price is going to take on Antonio Inoki and when Rod Price beats Antonio Inoki, he'll shoot right to the top 10 in the NWA….Then this man the 'Giant' John Studd will take on Bruiser Brody and prove that he's the toughest big man in the sport today!" Marc: "There you hear it from the Pringle Dynasty and we'll have the full card for the Bar Room Brawl event before we go off the air here today!" MATCH #3: NWA World Lightheavyweight Champion Chris Benoit pinned Jed Johnson after a diving headbutt from the top rope (Marc Lowrance runs down the card for Bar Room Brawl) World Class Championship Wrestling BAR ROOM BRAWL Airing LIVE on WTVT from Gilley's Bar Pasadena, Texas Wednesday Jan 22, 1986 Bell Time: 7pm MAIN EVENT Big John Studd w/Percival Pringle III Vs. The Stud Stable should be considered favorites in this tourney, great match between Backlund and Sheik to move the feud forward.

UWF bringing it with a big show! Awesome job writing up the King of the Mountain match! The Road Warriors made a huge statement here regaining the titles from Morton and Gibson in strong fashion.

Awesome first round of the tournament, The Machines are on a tear and would seem to be a favorite moving forward. Great win for Tiger Mask over Black Tiger!

I agree with everyone about the great job you're doing on tv building up the mid-card. Rocky Johnson makes for a good first challenger for Harley Race's Mid Atlantic title. Great win for Magnum TA over Arn Anderson!

Wow! Huge wins for Bobby Fulton and Hillbilly Jim! Adrian Adonis is going to have hell to pay from the big lumberjack!

I forgot to mention that in my previous comment, Chicky Starr cutting his hair is one of the single greatest heel moves ever, awesome stuff!

Ronnie Garvin As Garvin was already in the ring, Bad News was coming down the aisle approaching the ring when a masked man came running down the aisle and grabbed Bad News by the back of the head and rammed him shoulder first into the ring post…..Bad News hit the floor clutching his shoulder as the masked man picked him up and rammed him into the ring post again, then stomped his shoulder several times before Garvin came out of the ring and shoved him away causing the masked man to retreat from ringside. After a few minutes of chaos, Bad News struggled to get back to his feet pulling him self up with his right arm but it was obvious his left arm was useless and he was in tremendous pain…..Frank Dusek came down and said that Bad News would have to forfeit the title…..Bad News screamed an expletive and demanded the referee "ring the bell, and start the damn match." The bell rang and Bad News fought as best he could with one arm but Garvin was relentless….after several minutes of Garvin just stomping his shoulder and trying to jerk it out of socket….he locked in an armbar submission hold….Bad News refused to give up until finally Iceman King Parsons came down and threw in the towel….Garvin was declared the new NWA Texas Heavyweight Champion. World Class Championship Wrestling TV Recorded at the Sportatorium in Dallas, TX on 1/2 Airing on Friday 1/10 on WTVT throughout Texas And various outlets across the Southwest. Hosted by Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard Ring Announcer/Interviewer: Marc Lowrance (Bill Mercer and Bruce Prichard open the show at ringside) Mercer: "Hello, and welcome once again to World Class Championship Wrestling coming to you as always from the World Famous Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas and we have a stellar card of wrestling for you this evening!" Prichard: "Mercer, a situation has developed this past week as Dutch Mantell from WWC in Puerto Rico showed up seeking revenge on Austin Idol for an attack down in Puerto Rico that he claims Austin Idol was behind." Mercer: "Mantell insists that Idol paid to "put a hit out on him" which will try to have footage of soon but he showed up in Amarillo seeking revenge and Fritz Von Erich has seen fit to grant him a match with Austin Idol right here today on television." Prichard: "You and I both know that most wrestlers couldn't just show up and attack someone and then get hired to wrestle and given the match they want but since Mantell is after Idol who is after Kevin Von Erich, apparently that makes it ok." Mercer: "I don't know about that but I assuming since Fritz knows the circumstances and is aware of the brutal attacked suffered by Mantell he is willing to give him a chance at revenge." Prichard: "Well I'm not buying that for one minute but never the less….in other big news we will be having a big tournament this Saturday in my hometown of Houston to fill the vacant WCCW Six Man Tag Team titles." Mercer: "That is going to be huge and also on that card a match that has come at the request of Bad News Allen, as he will defend his Texas Championship that same night against Ronnie Garvin in a NO DQ match and we'll be hearing from Ronnie Garvin and seeing him in action on this edition of World Class Championship Wrestling." MATCH #1: Lance Von Erich pinned Donnie Brooks with a sunset flip from the top rope (Bill Mercer sends it to the dressing room to Marc Lowrance who is looking to get a word with Ronnie Garvin about his interference against Bad News Allen and Iceman Parsons in Amarillo last week) Lowrance: "Fans, I'm here in the dressing room of Jimmy Garvin, Precious, and Eric Embry who have just informed me that Ronnie Garvin has not arrived to the Sportatorium as of yet so I will attempt to get a word with him later when he arrives, in the meantime I'm going to attempt to track down Dutch Mantell to find out more about how Austin Idol paid to have him attacked in Puerto Rico. Also, don't forget fans World Class Championship Wrestling will be in action this Monday in Ft. Worth, advanced tickets are available now at Pancho's Mexican Restaurant." (Marc turns to leave the dressing room as the camera pans over to Jimmy Garvin, Eric Embry, and Precious) Garvin: (smiling) "Eric, did you hear what he just said?" Embry: (also smiling) "I sure did, Jimmy!" Garvin: (rubbing his hands together) "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Embry: "I sure am!! Let's head to Poncho's after the show to get some of those chimichangas I like!" Garvin: "Chimichangos? No, no….I mean did you hear the part about Idol paying someone to attack Dutch Mantell?" Embry: "Wait…you want to see if Idol will pay us to attack Dutch Mantell??" Garvin: "No….Bad News Allen!" Embry: "You want Austin Idol to pay us to attack Bad News Allen??" Garvin: "No we pay somebody to…..(puts his head in his hands) Never mind, I can't do this right now, I need to go for a walk." (Jimmy leaves the room) Embry: (turns to Precious) "Where's he going? I thought he liked chimichangas? Patti, I can't deal with another night of eating Jack in the Box…." (Precious pats him on the head) Precious: "Eric, don't worry hun, I'll talk to him and we'll all go to Panchos after the show." (Ronnie Garvin comes in carrying his bag) Ronnie: "What's going on, where's Jimmy?" Embry: "I wanted to go to Panchos for chimichangas and he's going to see if Austin Idol will pay Dutch Mantell to attack Bad News Allen." Ronnie: "What?? I've got Bad News Allen covered….nobody needs to pay anybody to deal with him." Precious: "He's confused Ronnie, I'll go talk to Jimmy….you just get ready for your match tonight." Embry: "Then we're going out for chimichangas, you'll love them!" (Precious grabs Eric by the arm and leads him away) Ronnie: (shaking his head) "Idiot." COMMERCIAL =========================================== (Bruce Prichard is at ringside with "Playboy" Gary Hart) Prichard: "Gary Hart, I understand you have a team that's signed to take part in the Six Man Team Title tournament….we know you have Austin Idol, we know you have Kokina…but who will their partner be?" Hart: "First of all…let me say this. It's a complete disgrace that hairy animal Dutch Mantell is allowed to show up in Texas and make false accusations against Austin Idol and attack him during his matches and not only was he not punished….he's given a job and booked in matches against Austin Idol…..well you listen to me and you listen Dutch Mantell you hairy ape! You should be careful what you wish for my friend because right here today on this show you are going to get it and we're going to send you back to Puerto Rico in a body bag……As for the Six Man tag titles, I've have found a partner for Kokina and Austin Idol that ensures us victory! I put a phone call to the Great One….Gama Singh himself and he has sent me the biggest, meanest, baddest man he knows…the Karachi Crusher himself….Makhan Singh!" (Makhan Singh makes his way down the aisle to the ring) Prichard: "Oh my word, one of the most dangerous men in wrestling and just can't imagine who could take down this man…the Mighty Kokina AND Austin Idol….Mr. Hart you have outdone yourself this time." Hart: "You can't imagine anybody beating them Bruce, because there's no one who can….check this out!" MATCH #2: Makhan Singh w/Gary Hart pinned Randy Watson after an Avalanche splash in the corner (The Von Erichs are in the locker room with Marc Lowrance) Lowrance: "I'm here with the Von Erichs who will be competing together this Saturday in Houston, Texas for the WCCW Six Man Tag Team Championships." Kevin: "First off, we all want to say hello to our brother Mike who is at home recovering from the injuries suffered at the hands of Big John Studd, and we want Mike to know we will fight we everything we have bring home those Six Man Tag titles for you little brother." Kerry: "That's absolutely right Kevin, last week I got a measure of revenge against Studd here on television but that's not even close to being enough….I want to get my hands on him again and I just hope you and your Pringle Dynasty crew finds yourselves across the ring from the Von Erichs in Houston." Lance: "I'm so excited to be teaming with my cousins Kevin and Kerry, I want to thank all the great fans here in Texas for all the support and love I've been shown….Mike, we're going to make you proud and bring home those belts, cuz!" COMMERCIAL MATCH #3: Ronnie Garvin pinned Bubba Monroe after a "knockout punch" (Marc Lowrance approached Ronnie Garvin at ringside) Lowrance: "Mr. Garvin, I wanna ask you about your interference in the tag team match last week in Amarillo where you cost Bad News Allen and Iceman King Parsons the match against your brother Jimmy Garvin and Eric Embry." Ronnie: "I did it because I felt like it and who was going to stop me?" Lowrance: "I understand that Bad News Allen went to Fritz Von Erich and demanded a match against you this Saturday night in Houston, Texas." Ronnie: "Yes he did…..he fell right into my trap. He demanded a match against me, so I countered that demanding a Texas Championship match, he countered demanding that it be no DQ! That's right up my alley Marc Lowrance so Saturday night it's going to be one on one for the Texas title.' Lowrance: "I understand your brother Jimmy Garvin and Eric Embry are banned from the building that night to make sure it's a fair fight." LOVE the promo from Paul E, he and Adrian are going to be a fun addition to Lutte, the TV title is perfect for them.

Nord and Sullivan had to be a wild one! Rose/Somers vs. The Killer Bees is an excellent main event anywhere but amazing for Portland.
