  1. Tony Schiavone's absence this week made it painfully obvious that he is the glue gelling this team together. I love Excalibur but he seemed to try doing too much last night. I have the feeling since day 1 that Jim Ross absolutely doesn't want to be at commentary in any way, shape or form.

  3. One theory thrown around online is that it's in response to Brandi sending Awesome Kong after her a few weeks back to cut her hair. The way I see things right now, it seems like they're counting on Hikaru Shida and Shanna to be the top babyfaces along with Riho and Britt Baker. But Kris Statlander could quickly get there if they book her more often. Crazy talented.
  4. Dude, please stop. I can only watch it on Saturday night. You're killing me, man!
  5. It doesn't make you a terrible person. You didn't say that Mauro was a terrible human being; you just said that you don't enjoy NXT as much as you'd like because of his commentary style. However, it's OK to feel bad about what he's going through and hope that he pulls through and resume his normal activities. At least, I think we can all agree that the way Corey Graves did it was the stupidest way he could've ever done it. I'm not expecting WWE to hand out punishment for Corey Graves or anything now that he apologized, even in a seemingly half-assed way. But if somehow, something even more serious would've happened to Mauro over this, imagine the shitstorm WWE would be through at the moment. Eventually, Vince won't always be bulletproof. If employees must be accountable for their actions, so should the Chairman for enabling that type of behavior.
  6. From the moment these two first met in the ring in 2000, fans knew they were in for magic whenever they were wrestling each other. For me, their 2003 showdown at the Royal Rumble is one of the best WWE Championship matches I've ever seen. So, what are your memories of that rivalry?
  7. Gonna have to wait this weekend to watch it. My DVR is already set just in case.
  8. Definitely kayfabe. I think his previous tweet (or next one) was about him oversleeping.
  9. The Ultimate Survivor Series only happened once. With Hogan & Warrior being the sole survivors, of course.
  10. When you look at them closely, they do look a bit alike, yes!
  11. If Vince never made the connection that Luke Gallows worked as Festus (which was confirmed in an interview by Gallows), I seriously doubt Vince knows/remembers that Luchasaurus was part of that people that got Bill DeMott fired.
  12. To be fair, Kenny Omega hadn't performed regularly in North America for years before the creation of AEW. The crowds are definitely different, so are the styles appealing to the audience. So I'm completely understanding of the difficulty Kenny must have to fully convey the style he was doing in Japan here. It's an adaptation process but I'm confident Kenny will find the right footing to do so. And like El-P said, The Elite guys are more focused on creating new stars than putting themselves over at the moment, and that's what they need to do. That and address some of the issues they've had since the beginning, including getting the crowd more behind the Women's division. We need to know more than Riho and Britt Baker.
  13. See, I never ever saw Nick Aldis as a babyface ever since the start of NWA Powerrr. At best, I see him as a tweener right now, when I thought he was more of a heel in the 2 first episodes.
  14. Either way they're going for the NWA title match for their PPV, I assume that Tim Storm will get involved somehow. I just don't know why but that's definitely their best storyline to date.
  15. Flip is booked in Quebec City next weekend (December 7th)!
  16. Pretty fun match between Rey Mysterio and AJ Styles. Am I wrong or they devote the ENTIRE 2nd hour to the US Championship?
  17. Starrcade is stacked indeed. The two top title matches should definitely be showstealers but I'm keeping an eye on Butch Reed vs Iceman King Parsons! This one should be quite the fight.
  18. Sign me up for Gordy vs Piper!!!
  19. What he said in itself wasn't specially harsh, yes, you're right. But like I said earlier, this is something he should've told him in private. Something like: "Hey Mauro, you did great and everything but if you could leave more room for Nigel and Beth to add to your commentary, that'd be even better." Simple as that. Would've this implied Mauro's meltdown? Maybe not. But at least, people would be far less critical of Corey if he had done it that way. As far as Mauro's mental health, it's not my place to judge as I have no clue what it must be like, being in his shoes.
  20. What happened was that Corey wasn't micro-managed in NXT like he is in WWE. I would bet that this is a Vince call for Corey to act as obnoxious as he is right now. As for Saxton & Renee, Saxton does Main Event now with Mickie James and Dio Maddin (well, not recently) and while Renee indeed wasn't a natural, I certainly won't blame her for trying....and I always felt like Michael Cole (as much as we can call him the poster child of micro-management results from Vince) did his absolute best to ease Renee in her role and feeding her some material she could seek her teeth in but lo and behold, Corey would often screw that with a snarky remark. At some point, Corey needs to look himself in the mirror and realizes that he's not helping right now. He can blame Meltzer all he wants but the reality is that Corey's a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black.
  21. I'll agree that Mauro really, really, really has that tendency to take all the stage with the commentary, barely letting Nigel and Beth get a chance to do their part. But at the same time, the last man who should try to criticize Mauro is the guy who constantly tries to put himself over by bickering with his colleagues at the commentary booth, thinking he's the next Bobby Heenan or Jesse Ventura.
  22. Apparently, Vince is very high on both Keith Lee and Matt Riddle, so that's reassuring...although you know that Vince will do everything to tweak Riddle once he gets on the main roster.
  23. WTF happened with that first thread earlier? I kept getting a "Too Many Redirects" message.
  24. And to think that everything will go back to normal on Monday.
  25. All this talk of cricket is jibberish to me. I don't have a freaking clue how that game works.
