  1. That's the impression I had as well. Although I'd say that they probably give the main role to Tom Phillips but man, Vic Joseph ACED his "audition" last night.
  2. Events for Atlantic Coast Championship Wrestling, August 17, 18 & 19th, 1984 Atlantic Coast Championship Wrestling TV, August 17th, 1984 -In 6-Men Tag action, The Soviet Soldiers (Khruscher Khruschev, Boris Zhukov & Soviet Soldier #1 - John Bonello under a mask) beat Cameron Day, Charles Gary & Lynn Lindon -Gino Hernandez was also interviewed by Bob Caudle & David Crockett about his recent actions, including targeting Miss Elizabeth "When you're as wealthy as I am, you can do anything you want and whatever you want. While this may sadden Eddie Graham to his core, he knows it's the truth. The fact is that I could get the Atlantic Coast Heavyweight Championship tomorrow if I wanted to but I have better priorities. Graham can accuse me of costing him signing top talents all he wants but if he was that good of a promoter, he would've signed guys like Brad Armstrong, regardless of my presence or not. But now, let's talk about the lovely Elizabeth, shall we? And baby, I know that you're listening. Forget about Macho Madness, darling, once you'll get a piece of Gorgeous Gino, you'll dump that orangutan like a bad habit. I can treat you with all the beautiful things in the world, I can treat you like a queen...not like you're a piece of property that I own. So, long story short, Elizabeth is a priority over the Atlantic Coast Heavyweight Championship. And once she sees what life can be with me, everything else will fall into place. Liz, you can take your time...Everyone knows that I'm a very patient man. I know you'll make it worth my wait..." -In the feature bout, Atlantic Coast Tag Team Champions Bill White & Johnny Weaver beat Rocky "The Best Kernodle" & Dory Funk Jr in a non-title match at 20:25 when Funk taps out to the Weaver Lock from Johnny Weaver. August 17th, 1984 Fort Homer W. Hestorly Armory, Tampa, FL -Johnny Mantell beat Don Kent -Don Kernodle beat Jose Luis Rivera -The Junkyard Dog beat Tommy Lane (w/Mike Davis) -Duke Myers beat Boris Zhukov -Abdullah the Butcher (w/Sir Oliver Humperdink) beat Hiro Saito after interference from Kevin Sullivan in a bloody brawl that saw Saito being as sadistic as Abby! -Eddie Gilbert & Khruscher Khruschev beat The House of Humperdink (The Purple Haze & The Great Kabuki) after a botched interference from Sir Oliver Humperdink, who was the recipient of Kabuki's Green Mist! -Buzz Tyler beat Soviet Soldier #1 (John Bonello under a mask) -Reverend Jimmy Valiant beat Mike Graham AWA Atlantic Coast Tag Team Championship: Bill White & Johnny Weaver beat Bulldog Bob Brown & Konga the Barbarian (w/Sir Oliver Humperdink) to retain *** August 18th, 1984 Orlando, FL -The Brisco Brothers beat The House of Humperdink (Purple Haze & Great Kabuki) by DQ after Kabuki spit the Green Mist in Jack Brisco's face -The Church of Boogie Woogie beat King Tonga & The Mysterious Monk after Valiant pinned the Monk with a small package. Reverend Cash was as shocked as everyone as to who is the Monk and why he is doing what he's doing?
  3. Terrific troll job from Vince to have Mandy Rose & Alexa Bliss working the same match while Corey Graves is away on vacation. BTW, can we keep Vic Joseph every Monday now?

    NXT talk

I'm living for Mauro Ranallo eventually screaming "TABARNAK!" on a live NXT broadcast.
  5. My head tells me Drew is winning it but my heart wants Andrade to win it. Either way, Shane's gonna get involved to screw Kevin Owens at some point.
  6. Huge win for Yamada against Chicky Starr but you can bet that Chicky will find some way to get revenge on him! Maybe Phoenix Firestorm?
  7. Reports say that so far, he doesn't because he's still getting caught up with the product. Although, he attends creative meetings.
  8. According to profightdb, Yoko's last match was at Survivor Series 1996.
  9. Hmmm....wondering who is Sunshine's mystery man...
  10. But there was a point when Triple H was buried for about a year because of the Curtain Call incident, given he was the only one Vince could really punish because of this.
  11. While we're in the same vein than Moxley...how about Juice Robinson? He was going nowhere as CJ Parker in NXT and once he leaves, he got a pretty solid restart in Japan.
  12. If he was still dating Deonna Purrazzo, would've made sense to me to see him go to NXT but I'd be really stunned if he didn't end up in AEW before the year ends.
  13. That's something I heard as well not that long ago. I get that with the current and tense political situation in the United States that some might find it a sensitive subject but it's pro wrestling, for Christ's sakes. Bryan's job is to be hated and he's done a pretty good job at that with the Planet's Champion.
  14. Ah yes, the infamous "giant X"...always effective to make your point across! Very much looking forward to Wahoo vs the Big Cat!
  15. Brad Shepard is an attention whore, plain and simple. Meanwhile, allegedly, Vince McMahon allowed Dolph Ziggler to do outside stuff from WWE but doesn't want to release him from his contract because....you know, AEW. https://cultaholic.com/news/report-vince-mcmahon-has-allowed-dolph-ziggler-to-leave-wwe/ (I know, the title of the article is misleading, you have to read the article in full to make sense of it.)
  16. Lars Anderson is quickly becoming the most dangerous man in Continental Championship Wrestling. Everyone better be careful!
  17. If there was only that Golden State Tag Team title match, I would've paid just to be there. Must've been the highlight of the night for sure.
  18. Exactly. The IIconics will never be known for their in-ring work but on the mic, they can deliver in comedic situations. However, if WWE knew beforehand that Nikki wouldn't be cleared for that Women's Tag Team title program, it makes you wonder why did they put the titles on the IIconics in the first place while they could've kept it on Sasha & Bayley and then, have them drop it to Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross.
  19. Dammit, I thought we were done with that 2 out of 3 Falls shit.
  20. Nice to see the Islanders getting the rub by being paired with the Von Erichs in main event matches. Giving them instant high profile at the moment, probably earning them tag title matches in the future.
  21. If what I read a few moments ago is correct, I find interesting that it was Paul Heyman's call to remove the title off Brock and put it back on Seth because he doesn't want the Universal title to be absent from TV (which is the most common sense I've seen from anyone involved with WWE creative in years)...makes you wonder if WWE will be able to find something creatively that doesn't involve Brock around the title picture for the first time since Taker's Streak.
  22. Duly noted. I'll keep that in mind for the future
  23. That has to be Buddy Murphy's official in-ring debut on the main roster, right?
  24. Always loved the concept of tag team battle royals. A great way to build instant contenders right away. Like if the Rock N' Roll Express needed an extra incentive though!
  25. Close one between Martel/Thornton and the Andersons. I bet Arn & Ole didn't mind a damn bit getting counted out to retain their titles!
