I can only imagine how bloody the Russian Chain match turned out to be between Uncle Ivan and Dick the Bruiser. Big win as well for the Super Destroyers!

The first I saw from Harley Race was during his King days in WWF in 1987. It's only really later in my life that I truly was able to appreciate the impact Harley Race has had in the business as NWA World Heavyweight Champion. Arguably the toughest champion that walked on God's green earth.

Events for August 3, 4 & 5th, 1984 Atlantic Coast Championship Wrestling TV Several clipped matches from recent house shows were shown, including the AWA International Championship match between Bob Backlund and Jack Brisco as well as the 2 Atlantic Coast TV Championship Matches from last week, respectively won by Kerry Brown and Eddie Gilbert. -After the footage, the House of Humperdink is at the broadcast booth with Bob Caudle and David Crockett. Oliver Humperdink and Kevin Sullivan both insist that the beef between Abby and Kabuki needs to end. Humperdink takes the decision to keep Kabuki and Abby separate for awhile while they recover and adapt their strategy. That brings out the trio of Boomer Lynch, Rocky "The Best Kernodle" and Rufus R. Jones. Boomer Lynch says that maybe after all, without even being a member of the group, he was holding them together and start taunting Konga. Rocky Kernodle says that the House is now more vulnerable and they want a piece of them. It doesn't take too long for a wild brawl to erupt all over the set. It doesn't have for me to be "OMG, that's so out of the blue" to be a successful surprise. LAX has a bit of history with the Bucks per the first Jericho Cruise so it'd make sense. Personally, if I'm AEW, I don't want anything to do with Enzo Amore in any way, shape or form. He's not worth the headache. As for Cass, I'd wait to see him pick up some steam on the indy scene and see how he does mentally before thinking about signing him. There's always that temptation to have that tall hoss Cass vs Luchasaurus match down the road.

Yeah, like Bleh said, you don't need to always go in depth with your results. Sometimes, we might all have a different interpretation of what happened. Makes it even more fun

Review of my match will be posted on Thursday, promised.

WWE TV 07/29 - 08/04 Hey whatever this country is broken
SirEdger replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
As far as unexpected ending, that's as unexpected as it gets for me. As for the execution of the whole segment, some were pointing the questionable acting of everyone involved but to me, it was the way they shot the whole final stretch that was absolutely the drizzling shits. Anybody other than Kevin Dunn in charge of TV production would've been fired immediately after the show for this atrocious job. -
If somehow, poor Mike Von Erich comes face-to-face, one-on-one with Jos LeDuc, I don't think he's gonna last too long!
-
I feel like Rick Martel will be a major player in Georgia in no time!

Events for July 27, 28 & 29th, 1984 Atlantic Coast Championship Wrestling TV, July 27th, 1984 -Dory Funk Jr beat Steve Diblasio in 14:29 -At the broadcast booth, there's an interview segment with Gino Hernandez and The Brisco Brothers. First, it's announced that Sunday night in Miami, Jack Brisco is getting a shot at the AWA International Championship against Bob Backlund. Jack says that even if Backlund is a great champion and a great wrestler, he's nowhere near close to him and he's gonna bring this title home in Florida. The subject shifts quickly to an incident last week when Gino try to make a move on Miss Elizabeth in the TV title Gauntlet Match, causing Randy Savage to go ballistic on Gino. Gino says that Savage should chill out and relax a bit and that Randy needs to stop being so overprotective. In fact, Gino wonders what Miss Elizabeth is doing with a psycho like Savage. But Gino claims that it won't be the case any longer because he implies Liz has been hitting on him and he's got photo proof of that. As Jack Brisco is about to pull off that photo proof, Savage comes in bursting to the set and confronts Gino, telling him to keep the name of Liz from his mouth. But another snide remark from Gino and Savage pops him on the jaw! The Briscos try to come to Gino's aid but Savage is able to fend them off as well. But to everyone's shock, it's King Tonga who jumps Savage from behind, with Savage bumping his head in front of the broadcast booth. Savage is put in a nervehold by Tonga as Gino serves Savage a dire warning before leaving: "Never come out here and think you can outsmart a mastermind puppeteer. I run the show in Atlantic Coast Championship Wrestling and I don't need a championship to prove it. I can have any of them at any time I want. But now, what I want is Liz and trust me, Savage, I'm gonna get her." -Atlantic Coast Heavyweight Champion Reverend Cash (w/Reverend Jimmy Valiant) beat Jose Luis Rivera in 9:44 -Jerry Brisco (w/Jack Brisco) beat Konga the Barbarian (w/Sir Oliver Humperdink) in 17:52 -Boomer Lynch beat Johnny Mantell in 8:46 July 27th, 1984 Fort Homer W. All about getting the maximum rating with best matches possible. Personally, I dig that Gauntlet. One of those rare times where I'll be fine with whoever wins it. -
Looking at your tag team division, it's probably the deepest in the whole AWA. Even a team like Whatley/Conway or Tatum/Young could give you solid mileage for a little while.
-
Thanks! I'll give it a watch early this week and post my review shortly afterwards!
-
Thanks for clearing that up. I had too many beers this weekend and I was confused by his introduction LOL
-
If the Stud Stable has anything to say about this, The Rat Patrol might not be Continental Tag Champs for long after the Nightmares cost them the titles!
-
Yeah, that post of mine didn't age well at all.
-
I guess they could be tempted by a rubber match between Cody and Nick Aldis but not sure if AEW is actually interested.
-
You hate everything that is past 1958.
-
This might be the biggest pinfall Ben Bassarab has ever gotten so far by pinning Ole. Gotta think that Bassarab & Thornton are next in line for the Andersons' titles!
-
I was hoping for PCO & Brody King to have a long title reign so I guess that won't happen.
-
I assume it will be 2 hours. I'd be stunned if they go 3 or even 1.
