  1. That card in Kelowna is a technical wrestling fan's dream card. The level of talent in there is ridiculous

  5. TV TAPING #6 January 31st, 1986 Centre Paul-Sauvé, Montréal Airing March 14th, 1986 Before the show starts, Milt Avrushin runs down the card for this week, including the main event between The Sheik & Yoshiaki Yatsu vs Sheik Adnan & Baron Von Raschke and welcomes Frank Valois to the broadcast booth. Frank Valois announces that Larry Zbyszko's suspension is done but he will not return at the desk but in the ring for the March 21st episode as a wrestler. Larry Zbyszko is thrilled and says he's going after the big guns and The Sheik comes out, visibly upset about Valois reinstating Zbyszko. However, Frank Valois states that Larry Zbyszko will not start at the top...but right at the bottom. Zbyszko is taking on Sunny War Cloud next week and Zbyszko feels insulted but Valois says it's that or Zbyszko can go home and never comes back! -Spike Huber beat Alexis Smirnoff (w/Sheik Adnan Al-Kaissie) in 6:06 Next, Milt Avrushin speaks with Tommy Gilbert. Tommy Gilbert acknowledges that his best days are ahead and he's decided to move in a managerial position. Gilbert is looking to help people breakthrough in Lutte Internationale and he starts this week. Gilbert brings out Outback Jack. Gilbert says that he's been looking at Outback Jack for a while and he believes he has a great potential. However, he feels like he's misunderstood, not because of who he is but the environment he's surrounded in. Gilbert wants to help him adapt and wants to make sure that fans here will love him and root for him. Outback Jack says he's not too sure but if Gilbert thinks he can help him, he won't refuse his help. Gilbert and Jack walk out together. -"Pistol" Pez Whatley beat Miguel Perez in 8:46 -In the main event, The Sheik & Yoshiaki Yatsu beat Adnan's Army (Soldat Ustinov & Baron Von Raschke, w/Sheik Adnan's Al-Kaissie) in 8:26 after Yatsu pinned Ustinov with a Side Suplex. After the match, Adnan tries to attack The Sheik but The Sheik catches him off-guard and Adnan's Army walks away Airing March 21st, 1986 To open the show, Milt Avrushin interviews King Kaluha as he and Richard "Le Magnifique!" Charland will be involved in tag team action. Kaluha also has his eyes set on the International TV Championship and is looking to make waves, every chance he gets, whether it's singles or tag matches and tonight won't be any exception! -Spike & "Rock N' Roll" Buck Zumhofe beat Jerry Oates & Miguel Perez Jr in 7:06 -Abdullah the Butcher (w/The Sheik) beat Ron Harris in 8:46. Post-match, The Sheik grabs the ring announcer's microphone and claims that Abdullah has his eyes on Jumbo Tsuruta and he'll ensure that when the time comes, he becomes the International Heavyweight Champion! -Larry Zbyszko beat Sunny War Cloud in 9:20. Zbyszko tried to back out of his match, claiming he was suffering from a "Strained Latissimus Dorsi" but Sunny War Cloud wanted none of it and attacked him anyway. Zbyszko used the ropes for leverage after a roll-up in the corner to secure the win -In the final bout of the show, King Kaluha & Richard "Le Magnifique!" Charland defeated Mike Hammer & Radcliff Murgatroyd in 13:37. It's the aftermath that got interesting as Kaluha and Charland were celebrating, Jos LeDuc attacked Kaluha and put him in a bearhug the same way he did on the February 28th episode to Tug Taylor. Leduc refuses to let go and it takes a slew of staff members and referees to finally stop LeDuc as the episode comes to an end! -Jumbo Tsuruta beat Masanobu Fuchi in 11:54
  6. That's exactly my thought process as well. If we were more writers to start, I would definitely go for bigger names right off the bat but we'll be left with plenty of solid names in free agency afterwards. Also looking to experiment what I could do with a different group of names that we would've usually seen in Stampede IRL.
  7. Yeop. Then you make the next 2 picks and it's back to Dunk
  8. Gonna use a different strategy than most and go a bit all over the board. First, let's go with Wilbur Snyder
  9. It's gonna probably end with Orange Cassidy ruining the wedding...at least, I hope. I honestly dread those wedding segments.
  10. I don't think Edge will wrestle on NXT tomorrow as much as it is to plant seeds of doubt about who he'll choose to wrestle at Wrestlemania. But yeah, hadn't it been for Beach Break tomorrow for AEW, not sure we would've seen Edge.
  11. I remember reading somewhere that there were plans first for Backlund to drop the WWF title to The Masked Superstar rather than the Iron Sheik but he refused to do so because Bill Eadie didn't have an amateur wrestling background. Never found out if that was true though.
  12. Out of curiosity, what did Dave think of the Matt Hardy stuff in the Stadium Stampede?
  13. And while I dig this character right now, I'm still concerned about how they're gonna book it once they fully return to live crowds. You can only do so much with pre-tapes and while they're still sort of in the introduction aspect of her multiple personnalities, there'll be a time when they'll need to space out those to avoid becoming stale. That's what I was hoping to see happen first when Bray & Alexa got paired together; to see a rotation (Bray 1 week, Alexa 1 week, both together 1 week, etc.) and ensure to keep the characters as fresh as possible. I certainly understand @KawadaSmile viewpoint but I do believe that this character is aimed at a specific audience that is into horror stuff and everything and it is definitely polarizing.
  14. Logically, there's no reason for someone to be for the Matt Hardy stuff during Stadium Stampede but against the current Alexa Bliss stuff, considering it's the same supernatural thing. But when company loyalty supercedes simple logic, you get that. Personally, I dig both stuff (I'm fully aware I'm the only one on this board who does for Alexa Bliss and I completely own that - I like stuff outside the box); the only difference being that while AEW played it more tongue-in-cheek with Matt Hardy, WWE has taken the more serious approach and I definitely understand how it will turn some people away and have them roll their eyes. Right now, Alexa Bliss is doing the best work of her career in terms of character work and given that she isn't known for her wrestling skills like the 4 Horsewomen or Asuka are, that's something she has going for her. Speaking of Asuka, I need to command her recently on her selling. Man, that's been top notch on her part recently.
  15. I don't know if I had forgotten to mention this too but Lutte picked up Akira Maeda & Mark Fleming from the NJPW roster draft. We would also like to release Ron Slinker and Jose Gonzalez
  16. I don't know why they just didn't shoot count anyway and have KO win the title. Worst case scenario, Roman wins it back in a rematch filled with shenanigans and everything. Wouldn't have been the end of the world. Just made everyone look bad all around.
  17. Yeah, about that finish for the Women's Rumble. Yikes.
  18. For the women, I say Taya Valkyrie will be a surprise entrant in the Rumble.
  19. I knew I was blanking on a specific episode when I tried to remember what would be on Season 3 and now Cornette reminded me.

  21. Alright. Your project, your call
  22. While we're at it, are any of you interested in having touring women as well? I got a list of roughly 120 women with the one I sent to @Dr. Dunk and if there's interest, I'll get that list to him as well so we can have an extra attraction we could use.
  23. Well, that could also explain why Keith Lee has been MIA in the past few weeks (even though they don't live together but still...) So, basically, you're telling us that the people freaking out and imagining the most goddamn awful things about the Rumble matches tomorrow because of that tweet should take a chill pill? Elementary, dear Watson.
