Abdullah The Butcher and The Sheik
SirEdger replied to The Thread Killer's topic in The Millennium Project
Good to know. I'll let you know if I feel the irresistible urge to have Abby make chopped liver out of one of the Harts! -
The Kiniskis are getting hired & rehired at the same rate that Terry Funk retired and un-retired!

There's something about Eddie Gilbert and Buddy Landel opening up a card that feels so right to set the tone. BTW, I think there's a typo in your February 28th results. You have Buddy Landel listed in both loops.

Wow, your memory is better than mine on that. I didn't even recall that Abdullah was a babyface in Montreal vs Bruiser Brody. But yeah, those connections with Carlos Colon & WWC came in handy for Gino Brito when Vince McMahon robbed him blind of his top stars. The last 2 years of Lutte Internationale pretty much consisted of a lot of young guns from other territories coming in Montreal to seek their teeth in and the WWC guys. Hercules Ayala was a solid heel in Montreal, thanks to that too.

Reminds me a bit of the people who were mad when the first images of the AEW console game popped up a few months back because it looked and seemingly will play like WCW/NWO Revenge and No Mercy. Gonna try to find a way to play WrestleFest in the next few days, just to give me an idea of how RetroMania Wrestling is like.

Yeah, Floyd did very well for himself when he took over the Creatchman Family as Eddy's health started to fail him. Still remember how he lead Samu to the International title. Weird fact; Samu actually never had the opportunity to defend the title after he won it; he actually had the belt stolen from him in a home burglary at some point. Eventually, "Dr. D" David Schultz was the last International Heavyweight Champion before the promotion folded in 1987.

WrestleFest is like the Holy Grail to me. I've seen that arcade game only once during a school trip at a winter resort and this was the arcade game they had. Didn't have any money at that time to play it and never had the opportunity to play it since.

Anything that Vince doesn't own already and that includes Houston Wrestling, St. Louis, Portland and San Francisco

Now wondering if Tony Khan won't make a play altogether to flat out buy the NWA from Billy Corgan. Hell, he could give Corgan a position within AEW to compensate, too.

That promo with Pretty Boy Floyd Creatchman was a lot of fun. Felt very reminiscent of my childhood where all we wanted as fans was for Floyd or his dad Eddy to get a good ass-whoopin'! Floyd will be so great to see evolve in Maple Leaf Wrestling.

No worries, man. Stuff like that happens. It's why I've always kept my booking stuff in my email inbox, just in case this would happen so I could pick up where I left off.

Holy smokes at Bockwinkel and Steamboat going full broadway right before the main event. Fantastic encounter. The good thing about you using a heavy heel set of champions is that you got the babyfaces to make it work and the chases will be amazing.

Man, you know things get real when the Texas Outlaws reunite, this tournament should be a lot of fun! Huge win for Bullet Bob as well!

This clip had to be around the time when Flair & the Andersons attacked Dusty at the Omni after the cage match vs Nikita, right?
-
If we've had this Apollo Crews from the start in WWE, who knows what he could've accomplished by now. Felt a lot like closer to Uhaa Nation than anything he did so far in Stamford.
-
Yeah, seems they're gonna go by the name of NXT: EVOLVE.

To be fair, LowBlow is one of the best when it comes to writing promos for shows. Don't put too much pressure on yourself for that. Eventually, you'll find that groove yourself

Doing a bit of catching up and I love what you're doing with your format so far. Like I always said to everyone doing this, format is trial and error at first and you eventually find the right one that just clicks and I think you're on your way to do so. As for the tournament itself, really unpredictable so far (legit thought Bravo & Patterson would go much further in the tournament than they did) and who knows who'll get the win in this one. As for the schedule, I feel like I'm lucky as Stampede doesn't have that big of a loop (pretty much Calgary, Edmonton & Regina every week, with a few shows in Medicine Hat monthly) but I admire you for trying to stick as much as you can with the Maple Leaf loop!

I would assume that even though they end up doing the rumored Swann vs Omega match for Rebellion in April, that Moose will remain in the title picture somehow (unless his contract expires soon, as it is rumored?); in that case, Moose could eventually dethrone Omega should he beat Swann for the Impact World title.

I'm curious to see the chemistry he'll have with Tony Schiavone on AEW Dark: Elevation.

The Big Show segment has always been scheduled for next week. Considering that this show was already taped, unless they had shot a quick taped segment that they could insert into the show, I don't see how they could've had him appear this week.

The grand and pathetic journey of the Undertaker at WrestleMania
SirEdger replied to El-P's topic in Pro Wrestling
That Taker-Henry Casket Match was nothing to write home about, honestly. It just felt off to me at the time.- 206 replies

Ah so, I was right in my timeline; the go-home RAW for Wrestlemania X-7 was the final night of WCW Nitro.

Yeah, I'm planning a few of those. I'm still undecided yet as if I'll do an 8-men or 16-men tournament for that title.
