  1. See, at first, I would've thought that they would've given the straps to Rosemary & Taya but Kiera & Tasha isn't a bad option either. Especially if like you said, they're going for Taya Valkyrie as the next contender for Deonna Purrazzo. ....can we talk about how deep the Impact Knockouts division has become in the past year or two? At one point, they were lacking so much depth but man, if they don't have the best women's division right now in North American wrestling, they're very close to it.
  2. Remember when all the buzz in Impact Wrestling was about Ace Austin? As good as Austin has been, Chris Bey has been stealing the show in Impact on a regular basis. I wouldn't actually mind seeing like you said Chris Bey vs Jungle Boy or even Chris Bey challenge Darby Allin for the TNT title.
  3. People don't always necessarily realize that because they've been so used of seeing Kevin Owens as a heel, going as far back as his days in ROH & PWG. The motivation behind what he does in the ring doesn't change, whether it's as a heel or a babyface; he does the best he can to provide his family and give them the best life and he never hid that fact. Adversely, even if Roman Reigns is pretty much going with the same purpose, only now he acts like a Samoan Godfather who believes he has the exclusive rights on who gets what on Smackdown. That's what is making this feud work on so many levels; 2 guys motivated by the same purpose but one being more hypocritical about it.
  4. Beyond Wrestling has become a solid pipeline for AEW to pick talents from. I also expect the Good Brothers to show up on Dynamite, probably on December 30th. I wouldn't even be surprised if we get a Good Brothers vs Young Bucks match at Revolution in February; Champions vs Champions, no titles on the line but this could be interesting.
  5. Also wrestled under his real name, Maunukea Mossman Former AJPW Triple Crown Champion Former AJPW Junior Heavyweight Champion 7x AJPW World Tag Team Champion with 7 different partners Won 2 Champion Carnivals Won 3 World's Strongest Determination Tag Leagues Former IWGP Tag Team Champion
  6. I kinda understand the purpose behind it, considering that they don't have the Florida loops anymore to give the greener wrestlers some reps - and considering that the live event option after the pandemic might disappear altogether, I don't necessarily think it's a bad idea. Besides, it'll probably only be a Network exclusive so only the diehards will watch this.
  7. She said on her Instagram account earlier tonight that the reason of her absence from TV lately is that she requested time off several months ago and they worked that within the Bray vs Orton storyline. But yeah, that certainly made it look like same old stuff in the meantime.
  8. The mistake they did with that segment was that it should've ended when Orton lit the box on fire. Leave the cliffhanger until Sunday at TLC to see if The Fiend will ever show up at the PPV with Orton thinking he finally outsmarted The Fiend. The last 2 weeks of the Orton/Fiend feud have been questionable on many levels; giving away Firefly Bray vs Orton on free TV pretty much indicated this feud will not carry further than TLC on Sunday. Those last 2 weeks of The Fiend/Firefly Bray by himself without Alexa Bliss to interact with just seemed like good ol' Bray 6 months ago. That alone is pretty indicative IMO of what is and what isn't working right now on RAW.
  9. It wasn't a title shot. If Janela had won, then he would've gotten a title shot. Basically, it seems like Tony Khan is trying to book the matches that Kenny couldn't have in the World Title Eliminator tournament because of various issues (Janela with COVID, Fenix with his concussion). Kenny vs Fenix will probably get a better feedback to close this year than Dark Order attacking the Elite on last year's final Dynamite of 2019.
  10. Good grief, I don't see the buzz about The Acclaimed. I just can't. If you're to give a title shot to a newcomer team, give it to Top Flight instead.
  11. I wonder if they're gonna keep the Good Brothers appearance for the last Dynamite of the year on December 30th. They'd probably like to leave a better impression for the last Dynamite than the one they did last year when Dark Order wasn't exactly what it is at the moment.
  12. Yeah, Dynamite is live tonight. I wonder though if they'll keep Moxley out of Omega's business for a short while though. Dirt sheets said that MLW and ROH also reached out to Ethan Page so there are a lot of options for him. AEW is the best option because it gives him maximum exposure while allowing him to possibly work with other promotions. He would be a big get for MLW and ROH but I don't know at the moment if it's the right spot for him. Haven't watched MLW in a while and I'm not sure what the product looks like at this time.
  13. Seems like Vince is milking every attempt of building sympathy for Lana as he can but I can't imagine that this would be actually working in front of a physical live crowd under normal circumstances.
  14. No way that Page is done with wrestling. Virtually every major promotion right now has been in contact with him, trying to sign him. He's gonna be a huge get no matter who gets him but I think AEW is the best spot for him.
  15. Either way, the buzz that Impact is getting right now is priceless. I was reading by numerous tweets and on Twitch that many people have already purchased Hard to Kill on PPV when they learned of the Kenny Omega & Good Brothers reunion and being in the main event
  16. If anything, I wouldn't be remotely surprised if they do some kind of pre-match attack on Asuka to remove her altogether and have Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke being the challengers instead.
  17. So, we're getting Kenny Omega & Good Brothers vs Rich Swann & MCMG at Hard to Kill....solid first main event for a PPV in 2021 if you ask me!
  18. Carpentier regularly used his gymnast background in his matches but I never ever recalled him doing moonsaults. I think he did front flips though.
  19. A backstage segment between Riddle and Ramblin' Rabbit is so 2020.
  20. That cage match was on Saturday Night Main Event with Hulk Hogan defending the WWF title against Big Boss Man. Slick cut a promo prior to the match saying he had a surprise for Hogan and it was Zeus. I watched it back about 2 weeks ago. Hogan and Boss Man had solid chemistry together!
  21. Veda did indeed a good job. I would love to see her more active in the ring but anything that can allow to use his verbal skills (color commentator/manager/some promo time), I'm down with.
  22. Oh, that's genuine, buddy. I love Mauro and what he brings to the table. I just want someone that doesn't phone it in on commentary. Honestly, I'd be fine with just Tony Schiavone & Excalibur on commentary. I was going on if AEW was insisting on having a 3-men booth. At worst, bring Mauro for the PPVs only if it comes down to it. Just keep JR for vignettes and special interviews. This is where he can bring value more than he does on weekly broadcasts.
  23. At this stage, if it were possible, I'd prefer to see Mauro Ranallo working with Tony Schiavone and Excalibur. I honestly don't know what JR is bringing at this stage. I've said it ad nauseam but I really feel like he doesn't want to be there. Just keep JR to build vignettes for high profile matches. As a fan, make me care that JR believes a match is important enough that he wants me, as a viewer, to feel the same about it. Because right now, I don't feel it at all.
  24. Dude, I've been doing this for more than 35 years. If you feel old, imagine how I do.
  25. It would be something to take seriously if JR wasn't a shell of himself and outright embarrassing himself and his employer every week by looking like he doesn't want to be there. I don't know why they haven't decided yet to stick strictly with Tony Schiavone and Excalibur - you know, the guys who actually make you feel like they're having fun and want to help the promotion.
