  1. I would've easily switched the Carmella/Sasha match with the Roman beating up KO backstage segment to close the show instead. Not a fan of several booking decisions Brucie Poo made tonight.
  2. So much for Keith Lee being an early favorite according to win the Rumble early odds.
  3. I think my favorite role of him was in The Fifth Element. But I'll be damned if I wasn't impressed as a kid when I first saw him in No Holds Barred.
  4. About Santana, it's personal issues that he's dealing with at the moment.
  5. And the Snoop/Taker merch was pulled off from WWEShop shortly after Dynamite tonight.

    AEW Dark Megathread

I know that he performed on Jericho's Cruise and IIRC, he also has his own band.
  7. Court Bauer tweeted earlier tonight that what was supposed to be their next big show Kings of Colosseum will be streaming for free on YouTube & other platforms live on January 6.
  8. The reason the 1997 one worked so well in the grand scheme of things is because basically, the Horsemen got Horsemen'd by the NWO as they did to them what historically, the Horsemen had done to their adversaries; for once, it was someone who turned on the Horsemen to join another stable, not the other way around. It made for an interesting dynamic to follow up afterwards to see how the Horsemen would react to Curt Hennig betraying them after Arn Anderson had offered him his spot as The Enforcer of the stable, now that he was forced to retire.
  9. Omega vs Swann could be a showstealer, I'm all for it
  10. "Tony, you were there for a cup of coffee, right?" "Yeah, and I quit the business for 18 years"
  11. I think I just read that Eva Marie is supposed to be Angel Garza's secret crush and I'd be lying if I said that I'm not intrigued in the slightest way with this pairing. I think this could work.
  12. That was supposed to be Ridge Holland but he broke his leg in that freak post-match accident.
  13. Awesome!
  14. Thanks for the feedback, gladly appreciated. But after consideration, given the complexity of the USWA, as Gene explained to me in his feedback, I don't want this to affect the game too much so I'll go back to my original plans of a good ol' regular territory with my usual trademark outside bookings every once in a while. Thanks to those who offered me a few workers already, I'm gonna officially get back in the trenches in January!
  15. Or maybe it just won't be a one-off thing between Impact and AEW after all. With all the buzz this has created over the past few days, both promotions would be crazy to not capitalize from it to last only until let's say the end of this year.
  16. I think pairing Blake & Cutler with King Corbin could be interesting. They both need to get the stench of being associated with Ryker and with a heat magnet like King Corbin, they'll at least be booed for the right reasons rather than just being paired with a dumbass like Ryker. Also, it seemed like Dominick was chanelling his inner Rock with his outfit tonight and I'm stunned no one thought of giving him a fanny pack before coming out for Murphy's match.
  17. Like I said, it's a collaborative thing. If for any reason some names aren't available, writers can suggest replacements instead.
  18. OK, as you know guys, I plan on coming back in the game and I've been juggling with a few ideas other than a new territory and I wanted to run this by you, guys. Kevin is already aware of it as I discussed it with him first but I just want to gauge your interest. Instead of going with a brand new territory, I'm considering the option of running monthly supercards featuring talents from all over the game (think about AWA SuperClash III but hopefully better than the real one lol). I want to make clear right away that I have zero intentions to infringe on any storylines and everything nor would I book title matches or anything, unless other writers would suggest it to further their own storylines. Of course, I'll always be looking for input and suggestions on those cards as well to make it as enjoyable as possible. The goal with this is two-fold: 1) Book some big feel matchups that writers could hype up in their own programming as well with promos and collaborative work, if possible 2) I also want to use this as a chance for midcarders from various territories to boost their exposure and maybe break the glass ceiling within their own territory. I don't necessarily plan to have jampacked Wrestlemania or Starrcade-level type of cards every month as some of those cards would feature talents midcard and low midcard tiers. Typically, I plan to hold those shows on the last day of every month and I would formally request some specific talents that I want to book on that show. If those aren't available for various reasons (whether you need them for a bigger show or simply just unavailable for scheduling conflicts within your own territory), I would gladly take any replacement you would offer and book the card accordingly. Long story short, I wanna try something different for this game and my hope is to have a more detailed writeup for this monthly thing and since I know that the Johnny Rougeau Memorial Cup was something that everyone really enjoyed in the previous game, I feel like it's worth the try. Open to any feedback, comments and suggestions to make this as good as possible! If this doesn't pass the test, I'll then just jump in as a regular territory, no biggie
  19. Even if it's just a one-off and we end up only having a handful of things, that would be awesome. I miss Don Callis in a managerial role (loved him as Cyrus in ECW with The Network) and that's something that would be so much fun to have.
  20. Had a bit of catching up to do with Dragon Gate and I stumbled upon this event from the Hopeful Gate tour this summer and since I'm a sucker for any BxB Hulk match I can find, I was well served. Some of those names I saw in that main event, I wasn't too entirely familiar but I had seen Jason Lee in the Cruiserweight Classic so I wasn't exactly in the unknown too. Pretty fast pace through the entire match and I fell in love with Takashi Yoshida's offense. I don't know if it was the gear and the haircut, but he gave me a weird Missing Link mixed with Tajiri vibe that completely worked for me. Also was the first time that I was seeing Kota Minoura and I was really impressed too. Like I said, not entirely caught up with everything in Dragon Gate this year but based on the research I made afterwards, it seems like the postmatch promo was designed to set up an Open the Twin Gate championship between BxB Hulk/KAZMA and Jason Lee/Kota Minoura for Memorial Gate in Wakayama the next month. Seems by all accounts that it was a match that got Kota Minoura in a solid position to carry him through that tag title match in August. Overall, very enjoyable match. 3 *** 1/2
  21. The first time I saw Brody King was a match he had with Jungle Boy in PWG in January 2019 (think it's the first Jungle Boy match I saw as well) and I'd be damned if I didn't say I wasn't entertained by what I saw. Typical hoss that I like to see in the ring and with Jungle Boy bumping like crazy for him, just made the match better. I could get behind Brody King as ROH World Champion. Been a while since we haven't seen a brute holding the title and I kinda miss the days when Samoa Joe was running roughshod over the company as the champ.
  22. Doing it to his favorite song "My Way"....and him singing it couldn't have been a more fitting tribute.
  23. Pluto TV online carries Impact (it's free so no worries about illegal means to use) In Canada, Fight Network & GameTV show Impact (FN in the regular Tuesday night timeslot; GameTV Saturday nights at 7 PM)
  24. Yeah, Bertrand Hébert was the ghostwriter for Pat's biography. And given his past work with wrestling books, no doubt that he must've done a fantastic job with it.
  25. In my alternate universe, he doesn't exist.
