I certainly agree with the Becky point. On the usos I don't think that they are just under-rated but that they are probably the best tag team wwwf/WWF/wwe has ever had.

for Jetlag i have a match between Kzy and Jimmy susumu, this match was on my mind as Kzy just had his first dream gate world title match. I think this match is a very compressed and understated version of a dragon gate 'epic'. http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x5x7ypr Edit: Second dragon gate match in a row from me.

Great beefy big guy match. They both go in there throwing big strikes and gritty holds. They show some great struggle between the big stuff. Zeus is a great babyface which is not a position he finds himself in very often. Joe is a great top guy throwing out some horrific chops in this. The crowd was very hot and they manage to have this match without falling into the boring tropes that can fill any modern 'hoss' fights of endless bad strike exchanges or rolling through several German suplexes. Here they don't bother, the strikes are regular but are never in parity exchanges. Just great big lad wrestling all around and match of the year so far ****1/2. The selling of fatigue was outstanding was it legit tiredness? Who cares it gave some great drama.

That is the old YouTube channel of the previous iteration of the company, the current promotion has this https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXcE5gdlJ5sOG8eYrI3oenQ as their YouTube channel. That old YouTube channel has not been used since mutoh left in late 2013.

A bunch of shows are missing from the ajpw 2017 on the real hero archive including the sumo hall show and the show with kento Vs shuji 1. As for the ajpw archive it is fine at the moment. I don't know about its future though.

AJPW announced AJPW TV on yesterdays show. All we know about it is that it will air live footage and have on demand services for those shows after they air. As for when it will be rolled out we do not know, there is a big show in saitama super arena on 25th march so that could be a candidate or possibly the start of the champions carnival as it was announced in a set of two video packages with the cc Blocks. As for past footage nobody knows for sure, but the general thought is that it will probably not have any pre split footage as that is owned by NTV not AJPW. The current promotion AJPW is technically a different promotion as when Jun akiyama Bought the promotion in 2014 it was dissolved and a new company started with a different official name, but just using the AJPW product, history, wrestlers and name. For example Jun Does not own the AJPW logo, that was property of the people who bought the promotion after mutoh. I would expect that the footage is not owned by Jun either so i would expect a back catalogue to only go back to 2014 at best to start with. But never say never, I do think the mutoh era library is more likely than baba era. As for the price it would be 900yen per month and as of yesterday that equals out to be £5:78 or $8:17 What currently happens with ajpw is that a few shows air live such as yesterdays show but many shows including many korakuens air on Gaora a week-two weeks after they take place and by the time they air AJPW might have already done several more shows. to watch these is the west you download them from the real hero archive. Another annoying quirk of the Gaora scheduling is that they can air out of order, for example for last years cc we had days one, 4, 6, 5,2,3 air in that order not in the order they happened making it very difficult to follow along as a tournament. Due to this a streaming service is welcome on my part, ajpw is my favorite promotion and i would love to be able to support them and have no way currently, merch is not shipped to the UK and they had no streaming service so i had no way of supporting them. AJPW ace Kento Miyahara, Yuma Ayoagi and Atsushi Aoki came over to the UK for the first time a few weeks ago I had the type of chat you have with someone who does not speak your language and you don't speak theirs with Ayoagi and Referee Nikkan Lee where i said that they don't have a streaming service Two weeks later they announce one, so I am Taking full credit for this service existing Edit: translation of ajpw website post: A site with movie unlimited at 900 yen per month (tax included) "All Japan Pro wrestling TV" distribution will start! Monthly at 900 yen (tax included) Choose a time location with your computer, smartphone, tablet etc "All Japan pro wrestling TV" where games can be seen anytime! We will deliver various videos focusing on live distribution. Details will be announced as soon as it is decided at any time. Please expect "All Japan Pro wrestling TV"! !

Cheers for that recommendation, it is not something that I would usually watch. I have watched it but for some reason cannot currently as a topic to the July 2007 folder. I will see about fixing that. As for my recommendation for you, continuing the 'i watched this yesterday' idea here is misawa and marufuji Vs kobashi and KENTA from January 2003 and the first televised big match in the build to the first kobashi Vs misawa singles match in 3 years this is after the chono tag in budokan where kobashi pinned misawa for the 5th time in his career. Kobashi had come back from the knee injury full time only a few months before and is built up like a complete killer.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Richeyedwards replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
Kotoka who wrestles for dragon gate has announced he is going to retire on an upcoming Korakuen show in march, he is 28. The reason for retirement is sadly injuries, he has had 4 surgeries in 2 years on his knees and neck. He was never the best wrestler but was a really good babyface over the last year cultivating a small but fiercely defense fanbase. His younger brother has just debuted in December. Kotoka has always struggled with being small even for dragon gate and was relegated to being an undercard jobber act. He later turned heel and joined verserK where he was the whipping boy for the group always taking the pins. He was thrown out of verserK in 2016 and joined MaxiMuM in 2017 where he had his best run even getting a win in a Korakuen main event and a tag title shot on a major show. -
You go to that third icon over on the top tool bar. It looks like a horizontal bar graph and when you hover it says "Special BBCode" Once you click that use the pulldown menu to select spoiler and type or copy/paste what you want into the box. It took me entirely too long to figure that out when I was first trying. Thanks!

This was a damm fun time. Vordell I don't think I have seen before and he was good but Scorpio was incredible, he was 46 in this and still moved great. This is a guy who I was not very high on in his run in noah and I thought was past it but here 6 years later he is taking some nasty bumps off of suplexes and brainbuster he pulls out a picture perfect moonsault. The match itself beyond the brilliance of Scorpio was a simple match with plenty of back and forth. I really enjoyed it ***1/2 Now one thing I must point out is that I was hating the first 5 mins because the person filming or those next to the camera would not shut up with inane comments. When they stoped shouting and actually got into the good match in front of them it was much better.

http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/21979-kota-ibushi-vs-jigsaw-vs-nick-jackson-vs-el-generico-chikara-king-of-trios-032809/ link to my review, I have watched it before a few years ago but didnt really remember anything apart from the double moonsault. it was exactly as you described dumb fun flippy shit. Now for you I see your fun flippy shit and in return will give you even more fun flippy shit with CIMA don fuji and naruki doi vs ryo saito genki horiguchi and dragon kid. This is is the same feud as the famous roh match and happens 8 months prior to that match with this being near the start of the feud while that match is the beginning of the end as it starts CIMA's face turn. This match is often thought to be better than the roh match by dragon gate fans. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B7MshERNRCoWVWRxVEpNanROZFk match starts at 1 hour 23 mins I missed the recommendation from concrete1992 earlier in the thread here is a link to my thoughts http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/40978-vordell-walker-vs-too-cold-scorpio-pwe-280112/

I was given this match as a part of the match review trades, i have seen this match before a few years ago: This was pretty much exactly what you would expect with these four guys. There was a little bit of perfunctory mat-work at the start between ibushi and jigsaw, it was not very good. After that they get to what we came for in that they start hitting very fast sequences of moves and don't really slow down until the end. There is a small story of the young buck that was in this match and el generico working together against the others two on one, throw the guy out and then work on the other guy. But then they break up each others pins on ibushi in a elimination match because? the crowd starts chanting "this is awesome" after generico breaks up jacksons 450 onto ibushi. After this short section they start doing a succession of two guys in, hit a few spots before a new guy comes in hits one guy out and then he hits a few spots. ibushi eliminates generico with a super reverse rana. jackson is eliminated with a jig and tonic before jigsaw is beaten by a phoenix splash. This was very very indie, you had a guy in terrible looking gear with a crappy mask, you had screaming commentators, you had crowd chants and you had a lot of moves with little story or selling, and it was really good. There is no point in going into a match such as this and looking for a well told story featuring escalation and selling, it is as was described in the match review thread, a spotfest and it should be enjoyed as such. Just turn your brain off and watch some crazy shit, it is the equivalent of a big dumb action movie. I usually do a star rating for matches but with matches such as this I find it difficult to do, as a rating I would go with big dumb fun and sometimes that is all you need in wrestling.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Richeyedwards replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
While looking up some matches about Kawada and akiyamas matches with each other in 1996 I realised those two never had a major singles match. According to Wrestling data they had 9 singles matches from 1993-1998 a few of which never made tape and five of which were before akiyamas ascension to being a main eventer. -
He was never a name on the indies but he did wrestle for something around 6 years or so before getting picked up.

The par of the match featuring the first knucks shot and the checking for blood is one of the most dramatic moments in a match in years. The one problem I had was with the finish no way near enough blood from anyone. -
Based on concrete1992 telling me he does not have a great knowledge of stuff pre1990s I am going for a match I am pretty sure he would not have seen in Bob backlund Vs killer Kahn from December 1980 in msg. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NolvcCD2e7o

Both ibushi matches one from g1 23 in 2013 and one from wrestle kingdom 9, Vs tanahashi from invasion attack 2014, Vs tanahashi from g1 25 2015 has a lot of love from certain people but it is not universal like the ibushi matches tend to be. He has quite a good match with bad luck fale in the final of the new Japan cup in 2014 with some hardway blood. Vs sakuraba from wk7 in 2013 is pretty great. These are some of the best stuff to get you started. I could add some more if you like them.

He regularly uses his own rating as a way of saying that someone else is wrong, after the g1 somebody said that nagata had the best g1 last year, but he responded that omega got more **** matches even though nagata had 5 so omega must have been better.
-
if you looked on wreddit (you really shouldnt it is bad for your mental health) you would have seen people making jokes that omega finaly has a five star match beacuse last year he had 3 six star matches and one 5 3/4 macthes meaning that this was his first five star. If that does not show you about how silly his ratings systm is I dont know what does. according to cagematch big dave gave 10 5 star+ matches last year 8 from njpw and 2 from pwg. So it makes it look like 4 star matches are not a important anymore and get no play from people who follow his ratings as it no longer means great 41/2 is the floor for great now apparantly.

[1990-07-14-NWA-World Championship Wrestling] Stan Hansen vs Tommy Rich
Richeyedwards replied to Loss's topic in July 1990
Hansen Vs rich wcw This was a match given to be my beat to review and it was a very enjoyable experience. It went pretty much as you would expect with Hansen mauling rich at the start before rich fight back showing that fire of his from the early 80s is most certainly still there. He does a little work on the lariat arm but gets nothing more than a start before Hansen fights back and hits a few nasty elbow drops before throwing rich to the floor for a dq.*** This match was enjoyable and a good little TV match clocking in around 7-8 mins but to me the real manic was post match. Here Hansen attacks the ref Pee-wee lariating him and hiting him with the cow bell. He gets suspended by Patrick before threatening him and Ross. Hansen is just so good as he is a big sloppy looking bastard but at the same time he does not need to have perfect crisp movements as he just has an aura of fear around him. Thank you very much beast for this recommendation I think I shall be adding some Hansen in wcw Tommy watch list, I have already watched his ppv matches with lugar but I think this is the first bit of his TV work I have seen. -
So beast sent me a match from wcw in 1990 of Tommy rich Vs Stan Hansen and I can say that I very much enjoyed it even though I think the post match was even better full review to be posted in a sec Full reviewhttp://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?/topic/40852-stan-hansen-vs-tommy-rich-wcw-saturday-night-14790/ For beast I have given a match between tanahashi and Bryan Danielson from 2004. Just a few years before each of them become the leaders of njpw and roh respectively.

I think it would have been wizard as, he was sheiks manager for years in Detroit. Glad you really liked the match, and on the finish it is ajpw around this time and up to a decade after it is nearly all das or countouts or some other infuriating finish. I really enjoyed the match that you gifted, do you know of any other death squad matches that you would recommend?
-
Bad booking in America is good booking in japan, just as a **** match in the us is a *** in Japan or whatever it was he said.
-
One idea I have seen floated as to the reason for the new atire for okada is that he is covering up huge knee braces as he is having knee problems. But then again that is just a hunch rather than a proven fact.

Wrestling in unusual contexts
Richeyedwards replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Pro Wrestling Mostly
In a cricket segment called polite enquiries, wk12 was mentioned in a question, the two hosts looked baffeled and called njpwworld "some channel nobody has heard of"
