  1. To me, this was the worst of the three Dynamite shows yet. I only cared about the last tag match, which was worked wonderfully, and the last minutes of the main event because Darby is such a great underdog. But AEW has two big problems they have to work on: 1) Too much matches for a weekly tv show. They need more promos, segments and characters exhibitions in general, otherwise the fans will eventualy be burned out in the middle of the show. Last week they made a really good show, and the highlight was the Inner Circle promo. Do more stuff like that, or have Schiavone interview more people after matches, whatever. 2) The womens division. Idk if this is unpopular opinion or what, but Riho is so, so bad. Like, first Eva Marie run levels of bad. People are with her now because they're excited about everything AEW, the new big thing, has to offer, but if she doesn't learn how to wrestle is a matter of time fans turn on her. Also, Baker, Priestley, Rose... They have potential but they're not ready yet. Imo AEW needs for their womens division somebody they can rely on while building new stars slowly (like Jericho os doing with Page and Darby). But seriously though, go watch Omega/Page vs Mox/PAC. Great tv match with great action, character moments, stories moving forward, and Hangman starting to look like the star they are building.
  2. Yeah pretty happy with an Archer title run. Although I dunno what are they gonna do with Mox and Juice, because clearly they have that one match left at WK, but it being a non-title bout? Not sure about it. Maybe a triple threat with Archer? Also, #NaitoTwoBelts seems closer than ever. Okada just said he will defend the world title both nights, and both Ibushi and White want to be double champions. Naito just needs to beat Taichi at PS and then challenging White at WK. Oh, and Liger will have two retirement matches. That's something.
  3. Moxley didn't make it to Japan because of the Typhoon, so he vacated the US title and Juice is gonna fight Archer for it today. That sucks.
  4. Man this stupid company sucks so much. Kofi was world champion a week ago and now he doesn't even care about it. Draft picks in the fucking same order they posted before. No world title for the Fiend when he's over. Charlotte with another meaningless title run. The new videogame sucks. NXT has become an Ode to HHH and Meltzer. The Saudi stuff. SHORTY Gable. Destroying the UK indie scene. Nothing new, but that doesn't change how bullshit it all is. There could be good stuff, but nothing that makes me feel like I should be a "WWE fan". I HATE their product.
  5. If I were AEW I would hire Meiko Satomura no matter what.
  6. They did the exact same thing with Reigns after the 2015 Rumble, it's hilarious. They just don't know what to do with babyfaces.
  7. So great. One of the best HIAC matches of modern WWE, with a very intelligent use of the cage and a lot of fire and heat from both horsewomen. Some spots were not as fluid as they could, but the brutality was there anyways. Both worker's facial expressions were great, from Banks' sadism to Lynch's "I'm fucking out" eyes. ****1/4 and the WWE main roster MOTY thus far.
  8. This match was great, Nomura's urgency added a lot to it and Kento seemed a little bit desperated at times, so the suspense for a possible title change was growing as the match progressed. I personally think Nomura should've won this time because AJPW really needs more stars and not to rely on Kento only.
  9. Yeah, Omega's facial and body language in general is awful. But I liked the match, specially thanks to PAC's strategy of countering every classic Omega spot. Not anything great, and surely not the best thing these two could do together (I hope), but a very fun match almost every time and a great victory for PAC. ***1/4 seems about right.
  10. Wow, didn't expect Ibushi winning. First time someone in the same block as the world champ wins the G1 in I don't remember how many years. I guess Okada/Ibushi will main event one night at the Tokyo Dome, and Naito/White (or maybe Naito/Moxley?) will main event the other one.
  11. An excelent sequel to their MOTYC at Ryogoku. This time, Juice had enough of Mox's bullshit and, while more on fire than ever due to his obssesion to beat him, he didn't play the Mox game like last time. Moxley was even more aggresive to him, kinda cruel. I don't like how the finish came out, and Mox could have sold better right after the match, but overall a great fight with such an awesome crowd. They both looked lige megastars here, and this rivalry is becoming my favourite one of the year.
  12. Everyone's talking about Ishii and Archer (and they should), but right now Jon Moxley is the G1 mvp to me. He brings the best out of his opponents, even the Cobb carryjob was pretty good and underrated. The Taichi squash was as good as it could be with less than 10 minutes, this fight against Shingo was great, and we all know how good the Ishii match is.
  13. Naito was amazing in his tag match against Mox, what a superstar he still is. Archer/Ibushi and EVIL/ZSJ were pretty damn good, but man Okada/KENTA was decent at best. KENTA tried and he did had his moments here and there, but Okada has become a very lazy big match worker (and I hate to call a pro wrestler 'lazy'). And the fucking Gedo booking again making Okada unbeatable, just to make SANADA's victory even more predictable. It sucks.
  14. Really loved the last 12 minutes of this. The first half didn't say anything to me, not bad but nothing was going on from a storytelling perspective.
  15. Yeah, I totally agree with SmartMark15 on this. Outstanding Ishii performance and a very, very good match overall. White was great, but seriously, Ishii looked like the biggest wrestling star in the world in this match. The crowd was 100% with him, once again. Really enjoyed this, and a top 3 match of this current G1 for me (just behind Archer/Ospreay and Yano/Naito, icyw).
  16. If anyone would have told me that it was possible to have a -10 minutes match with Jeff Cobb, almost squashing him without being another powerhouse and doing it in a legit, credible way, I wouldn't have believe it. But Moxley did. Such a great carryjob.
  17. Sorry to be that guy, but such amazing sequence dont' deserve that really awful commentary
  18. Juice/Mox was MOTY material. Incredible brawl.
  19. All K wanna say about this is that the magic of pro wrestling is when you enjoy a very bad match.
  20. The start was great but the first half as a whole was a little bit up and down for me, some strange spots and sequences but also some great moments (most of them by D-Bray). But oh boy, the final three was awesome, specially the final battle. It's a shame Ali didn't received this push, but man Kofi deserved some spotlight after being one of the better workers of the midcard for eleven fucking years in a row. Both Bryan and him were fantastic (also Joe at the beginning), but this is not a great match, just a good one with a crazy career defining moment for Kofi. And I loved it. ***3/4.
  21. This was Tana's formula applied in autopilot mode. If this was the match to put White over, why was It worked so... lazily? It felt like Tanahashi didn't have interest in making White look like the new big thing, which is strange coming from someone as professional as him. Jay definitely should have been the star of the match and instead he was the other guy Tana was working with. Also, we all already know White doesn't need more than 20 minutes or so, please New Japan do not make the same mistakes of his USA Title run. Very bad approach that condemned the whole match.
  22. This was a very good match and a great angle for Velveteen, not just this match but the whole tournament. Shades of Bret's 93 KOTR run. It's a shame WWE decided to do this thing in such a poor way, this could've been a great Network special like CWC or MYC, but instead everything had an awful atmosphere, like an indy show at the bottom of Parts Unknown.
  23. Yeah, great segment overall. First match was a funny debut, Bugenhagen got himself over pretty quickly with that curious gimmick and Gulak's facial expressions were a delight. And then we had the real deal, a very good mat-based, 'shootesque' match. Not as great as Gulak/Gallagher from last year, another very different match from what WWE formula actually is, but both Gulak and Riddle teached the Full Sail crowd to enjoy this style of wrestling and that's always great to see.
  24. This was a decent match with some good moments here and there (and some awful ones too, like everytime EVIL hits a forearm). MiSu and ZSJ are atractive as a team but they need to work together more because the"I put this guy in the submission and you watch for the other to not save him" thing is not the best dynamic for a tag match. EVIL and SANADA also need to cooperate more, because on their own they're not great workers and they should be capable of hiding each other weaknesses. Also, Suzuki what the hell did you do with your hair c'mon man stop it.
  25. This was awesome. Having something new and fresh in your big matches is always good, and yeah, maybe It went too long (fuck you Iizuka you slow bastard), but Naito's superb selling, Taichi's sunovabitchesque performance and the crowd buying everything carried this from a cool segment to a great match. Naito was in a position where he needed bombs to equalize thingd and survive, and that's the role he shines the most. Fantastic big spots and counters were seen here. I was so invested... That's pro wrestling magic, fellas. Not a MOTYC or whatever but maybe the best NJPW match in 2019 thus far.
