Where can Nakanishi’s final match be viewed? I can’t find it anywhere....
-
Agreed. I REALLY liked Kingston’s promo! The way he said, “I DARE you to come out Pope” was just awesome and authentic. Pope always seems like he’s trying to be Dusty Rhodes in the way he talks and his mannerisms. I don’t like that. He does better when he’s more serious. The Question Mark seems to have cooled off rather rapidly. I think that they overdid it with that. Shooter Stevens is good in his role and I hope Murdoch takes him out. ZICKY DICE is “that guy” for me! He’s “living the gimmick”, brother! The fanny pack put things over the top and he is super committed to his role. Cross and Starks are good as well but the NWA needs to mix things up and not continue to have variations of the same match each week. The comedy is too much and they don’t do it well. The unintentional comedy by Stevens and Dice flow way more naturally than Mama Storm, Valentine, etc...One thing I can appreciate about AEW is that as much as they reach back to old WCW they are trying new things like the weigh in, which was awesome. I wish the NWA would push boundaries using the old school format rather than try to be WWE-lite in a studio.

Who is more important for pro wrestling history?
Sweet Brown Koko replied to yesdanielbryan's topic in Pro Wrestling
I voted exactly like Laz and for the same reasons. -
Yeah, I thought Dean and Neal did a really good job heeling it up there. You could sign both teams, have the face team win that round of the contest and then get jumped later on by Dean and Neal. I thought that the two teams had great chemistry together. It will be interesting to see who goes next. I actually have a level of anticipation for the next Circled Squared!

I didn’t mind the reaction from the people and I enjoyed the show. In hindsight I assume that they edited it to put over the talent that they wanted to. I actually liked both teams and would rather have either team over The Dawsons.

I like the theme music and the show overall. I didn’t like the Mama Storm comedy and think if they can stay away from things like that but show comedy within the matches or from wrestlers cutting promos naturally I’m all for it. I think the NWA should move toward being more serious and this show was a good first step. No need to totally remove themselves from nostalgia but I don’t want this to be That 70’s Show either. This show (minus the Mama Storm stuff) was a step in the right direction. Caleb Konley is good and resonates with the fans BUT sometimes it feels like he’s trying to be Will Osprey Jr. and “get his stuff in”. His matches can be a bit choreographed. This is still my favorite wrestling show by far!!

What happened so far?

I would like to see Trevor Murdoch win but am guessing it will probably be Starks. I also wonder if Stevens drops the strap to Steiner so The Question Mark gets the TV title?

Hopefully with the apparent partnership with ROH we’ll see some of the older acts fade away. I like the promotion but they really need to figure out what they want to be. They have a chance to do some special things, IMO, but I think they need to move away from so much humor and nostalgia acts. There’s a time and place for these things but the NWA has been doing this a bit too much.

"Triple H shoots himself in the foot" thread

Another great episode of Powerrr! They showed the brackets for the TV title tournament which made it easier to follow. Scott Steiner cut another one of his promos putting down the crowd for eating potato chips and not caring about how many “caro-lies” they were taking in. Gibson’s mystery partners were Eli Drake and Tim Storm. GREAT crowd heat throughout the match. Steiner really shouldn’t be in a wrestling ring but he did throw some good suplexes and heeled it up really well. Gibson got the pin after Drake hit a move so now Morton will challenge Aldis. The Pope walked out in disgust after Homicide and Kingston lost to Stevens and Question Mark. Melina beat some lady (drawing a blank) and jawed with Alison Kaye. The Dawson with hair beat the other Dawson when he cracked his brother over the head with the cast on his right wrist. Really fun show!

https://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/jericho-tanahashi-wrestle-kingdom-aew/#.Xg_y6CVMGaM It was mentioned on the Wrestle Kingdom thread that if Tanahashi beats Jericho he will get an AEW World Title shot.

A new episode came out last night.... From what I can remember Ricky Starks beat Eddie Kingston and Question Mark beat Colt Cabana in the TV title tournament. Melina, Thunder Rosa, and Marty Belle beat ODB, Allison Kaye, and the 3rd lady I’m blanking on. James Storm and Royce Isaacs went to a no contest. During a promo Trevor Murdoch and Zicky Dice were cutting about the TV title tournament The Pope came out and pretty much cut a promo sounding like Dusty and saying he was looking for his Horsemen. Zicky tried to put himself over to get in Pope’s faction but Pope walked off. There was also a drawing to see who would be facing each other next in the TV title tournament and Tim Storm will face Nick Aldis. Eli Drake cut a promo I skipped, Josephus was dressed as Santa throwing stuff into the crowd and then shouting down an old man who also looked like Santa. There might something I missed but it seemed like a good episode. I’ll have to go back through and watch everything.

The best wrestling board game hands down right now it The SuperShow. Extremely easy to learn, it has a great following who actually put on events for real titles, and also has cards for real wrestlers like Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. The packs come with fictional wrestlers that play unique. It’s a dice rolling game where you have to get a lead move and follow up move in prior to playing your finisher. Your lead and follow up cards sometimes have STOP signs on them that can stop moves in the right conditions. Also if you you pay enough money you can create your own wrestler with the creators that can be used by you or sold to others. You should be able to get this at your local gaming store. From the National Wrestling Alliance website: On last week's #NWAPowerrr, NWA President William Patrick Corgan (aka Billy Corgan) teased an announcement that would open the envelope for talents to be a part of the National Wrestling Alliance. Today, the National Wrestling Alliance and Lightning One announce a new series that will join NWA Powerrr and Ten Pounds Of Gold… The new show is called The Circle Squared. This series will allow new talents an opportunity to put their money where their mouth is to get a chance to earn an NWA Talent contract. This competition show allows talents selected to step up to the circle of the podium to exhibit their talents on the microphone before stepping into the square of the ring to show their physical abilities in a wrestling match. The key to making the NWA roster and eventually NWA Powerrr will be in these talents ability to connect with the the live audience in Atlanta and the audience watching all over the world. The ultimate winner of The Circle Squared will earn an National Wrestling Alliance contract.

WWE explanation of the finish from wrestlinginc: The WWE website officially lists the main event as ending by Match Stoppage. They wrote the following at the end of the match recap, noting that the referee called the match off: "Clearly sensing that a line was about to be crossed, the referee tried to stop Rollins from using the hammer. But The Beastslayer did it anyway, bringing the tool straight down on the whole pile, causing the ref to wave off the match while a crew of medics tended to Wyatt. Rollins, who was clearly on the verge of madness, made the mistake of straddling his fallen foe and quickly found himself ensnared in the Mandible Claw as Wyatt rose up from his back and continued his attack. Rollins was helpless to respond as Wyatt took him outside the ring, exposing the arena floor by tearing up the mat. It became clear that the Universal Championship was the last thing on Wyatt's mind. Wyatt smashed Rollins face-first into the arena floor with Sister Abigail and applied the Mandible Claw once again. This time, the writhing Rollins was spared only by the signature shrieks that precede Wyatt's exit. Hell in a Cell did not end with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt as Universal Champion. But clearly, he'd gotten what he came for all the same."

Trying to get into Lucha (Need help)
Sweet Brown Koko replied to Sweet Brown Koko's topic in Pro Wrestling
I like mat work and brawling. I like high flying too as long as it has a purpose. Not a fan of Indy MOVEZ.... -
**Note - I had to create a new account (Formerly Lust Hogan) since I wasn’t able to log in using that one for some reason.... So I’m trying to get into lucha and have no clue where to begin. What are books and matches that you would recommend? What’s the lucha equivalent of Hogan/Andre - something easy for the masses to understand? I would like to find some easily understandable matches and then escalate. I would also like to read more about the intricacies of lucha as well. Any help would be appreciated!!
