Don't change that channel all that flippin' around! You're about to see the hottest show in town. The biggest stars and the biggest brawls, the biggest hits and the biggest falls. Non stop action no messin' around, pretty soon we're comin' to your town. The way you like it, the way it used to be...Smoky Mountain Wrestling's on TV! You are watching professional wrestling on Knoxville's WEEE-LP, UPN Channel 32! Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV. From the WEEE-LP studio in Knoxville Tennessee. Airdate: 11/15/97 *Opening video of SMW action set to "Into the fire" by Dokken" Match #1 The Public Enemy (Rocco Roc & Johnny Grunge) defeat Shark Boy & the debuting "Pinoy Boy" TJ Perkins with Grunge pinning Perkins with a diving legdrop. Perkins, who commentary mentioned was "still in highschool". impressed fans with his fast paced offense but cou;dn't overcome his bigger, more experienced opposition. The Public Enemy cut a promo running down the Tennessee Volunteers for their "fluke win" a couple of weeks ago and saying they aren't finished with those "redneck punks by a longshot." Match #2 The debuting Eric Young defeated Scorpio (Tony Falk in a mask) with a wheelbarrow neckbreaker. Father James Mitchell & the Nasty Boys cut a promo saying that the Rock n Roll may have escaped with the tag titles at Halloween Scream but that is just a minor setback. Mitchell says the Nasty's are exactly his types of men. Brutal, vicious and more than ready to give in to their darker impulses. Says he has harnessed the darkness within them and is going to steer them directly to the tag team titles because they are officially demanding a rematch with the Express at Thanksgiving Thunder. Match #3 "Iron Man" Tommy Cairo defeats Jimmy Jannetty with a Powerslam. Woman cuts a promo saying Terry Gordy made the biggest mistake of his life last week by deciding to turn her down as a manager and especially thinking he could challenge the Earthquake. Says what Woman wants, Woman gets and what she wants is to make Gordy regret ever coming back to SMW. Says she's found just the man who can make that happen and if Gordy has the guts that man will be coming to Thanksgiving Thunder and waiting for him. Mai Event. SMW TV Tite qualifier. Silver Wings defeats "The Outlaw" Kendall Windham. Windham looked to hit Silver with his cowbell but Mongo ran down and snatched it away with SW taking advantage of Windham yelling at Mongo to perform a O"Conner roll. Windham was irate and rolled out of the ring and charges Mongo and the show ended with security trying to separate the two. -
LA. The Dreamboats didn't appreciate the Blondes getting involved in their business. Awesome tames the Beast. Austin stuns Blackman. Lee & Rhodes seems to have buried the hatchet. Terry sends Ricky a message using his little brother. The Southern Boys get some payback. Busick puts down Douglas in spite of Cornette. The Ministry has gathered some tough enemies. Pillman with a Beautiful victory. Three successful title defenses close out PCW's latest stint in the City of Angels. Santa Barbara. Young is proving to be quite the prospect. Azul defeats a stripped down Beetljuice. Iron & Steel take advantage of a delegated Wings of Fire. A fiery Eddie melts Snow. Regal & Sotty both hold on to their gold.

Sugar gets some Sweet revenge on Dream Machine. Latin Desire would look good with some titles I must admit. Taylor takes his rematch with Burke in stride. Anyone else surprised that the Moondogs were smart enough to steal a win without Akbar? Morrow takes advantage of a conveniently placed battle royal to crown new National Tag champs. The Mighty Yankee may have just taken out a Olympian. The Fantastics are fired up to take on the Express. Muraco's dark side comes out and I don't think Graham likes what he saw.

Smoky Mountain Wrestling news for November. The start of a beautiful friendship?: SMW owner Jim Cornette recently made waves by announcing that his promotions Nevember supershow, Thanksgiving Thunder, will air live on Fox Sports South. This agreement will allow the event to be broadcast in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina & Tennessee on cable and throughout the country via DirectTV. Reports suggest Mr Cornette has come to the conclusion that SMW cannot continue to rely on small municipal networks like WEEE-TV in the long term. Sources also indicate that if Thanksgiving Thunder is a success than it will mark the start of a more substantial agreement going forward. WCW relationship update: The working relationship between Smoky Mountain Wrestling and World Championship Wrestling announced last month has yet to materialize on either companies product but that appears ready to change. After a lengthy period of coordinating plans and people's schedules the two companies are seemingly ready to move forward as sources have said that WCW will "have a presence" at Thanksgiving Thunder. Given the size of the platform and the potential dealings rumored to be on the table, it's sensible that Mr Cornette would use the relationship with WCW to draw maximum eyes to the product.

Hart's departure really hurt the Canadians. His time in the Army seems to have done Bundy some good. Zeus may have just taken Bossman out of the equation. That finish to the Haku/Jannetty match should be in a highlight reel. Mean Mark being protected in a loss to the Macho Man speaks well to his future.

The Road Warriors respond. After utterly brutalizing two local talents the NWA World Tag Team champions joined Mooney and in their usual colorful style, addressed the challenge by Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard from last week. They said it doesn't matter if there's four horsemen or forty, they'll tear through anyone and everyone who tries to take these belts from them just as they've done for nearly a full year now. They finish by saying Arn & Tully are gonna wish they never came back to the NWA. Speaking of the Horsemen. JJ Dillion was notable by his absence as Harley Race claimed a win with his trusty Piledriver. Race then joins Mooney and says all he's heard since Halloween Havoc is people questioning the future of the Horsemen now that Ric Flair, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard are back. He says if the three of them have reached out to the "real Horsemen" he hasn't heard of it. Says if any of them have anything to say to him they can come out and say to his face like a man. After a brief wait, Ric Flair comes out dressed to the nines. He says he wants to make it perfectly clear that of course the three of them have the utmost respect for Harley Race for everything he's done in this business, BUT the Four Horsemen was supposed to represent the best of the best, the elite of the wrestling world and, with all respect, he doesn't feel the current group lives up to that standard. Race asks what that's supposed to mean and Ric says as an example, Harley is one of the best to ever do it, a seven time NWA World champion, but those days are clearly behind him. Race says if Flair truly believes that then how about they meet at Starrcade and we'll see if Race is still an elite level talent or not. This finally brings Dillion out to try and diffuse the situation but neither man seems to pay him much attention. Flair says if he has to be the one to make Race face reality than so be it, he accepts! NWA Junior Heavyweight Championship. Too Cold Scorpio joined Mooney after defeating his opponent with his beautiful 450 splash and announced that after his victory in the brutal stretcher match at Halloween Havoc, the championship committee has granted him another shot at the NWA Junior Heavyweight title when he takes on "Wrestling Royalty" Brian Christopher at Starrcade. The Paul Jones Army. Jones was leading the Eliminators against the team of Jimmy Valiant and the NWA Heritage champion Tommy Rich. The youngsters gave a good showing, no doubt still riding high from winning the Six Man Tag titles, but the veteran instincts of "Wildfire" and the "Boogie Woogie Man" turned the tides and seemed to be closing in on a win when Jones signaled to the back which summoned Ivan Koloff & The Super Destroyer who stormed the ring causing a disqualification. The brawl was on with the Army's numbers giving them the edge until Shaska Whatley & the Nightmares ran down to make the save. Now the Army was outnumbered but Jones once again signaled to the back at which point KAMALA charged down the isle. The "Ugandan Giant" hit the ring like a wrecking ball dropping all the Army's enemies with chops to the head. The show ended with an all-out assault by Jones' men highlighted by Ivan choking Valiant with the "Russian chain" and Kamala hitting repeated splashes on Rich.

Jerry Jarrett makes waves with the announcement of the USWA. Jimmy Hart has his suspect for who was under the Freddy mask. The Fuller/Golden family feud had begun in earnest. Somebody finally addresses DWB'd forearm "injury" though the matter isn't settled. Tojo & Tarzan finally cross the line with Lance but Sarge is there to save the day. Marlin lays down the law, Shook Baby is for decoration only!

PCW's cage is going to be putting in some serious work over these two nights.

You are watching professional wrestling on Knoxville's WEEE-LP, UPN Channel 32! Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV. From the WEEE-LP studio in Knoxville Tennessee. Originally airing on 11/08/97. *Opening video of SMW action set to Into the fire by Dokken* Caudle & Cornette welcome fans to another exciting episode of SMW action. Cornette hypes his announcement from last week that Thanksgiving Thunder will air live on Fox Sports South, the single biggest platform the promotion has ever had. Caudle adds that matches for the event will be announced in the coming weeks and he's got the first big announcement right now. Smoky Mountain Wrestling is bringing back its Televised Title. Qualifying matches will be held over the next several weeks with the winners meeting at Thanksgiving Thunder in a four corner elimination match to determine the new champion. Expect more big matches in the weeks to come but for right now let's head to ring! Match #1. Non title. The Rock n Roll Express Ricky Morton Robert Gibson defeat The Shadows with a double dropkick to Shadow #1. The Express join Bob Caudle and are over the moon to once again be Smoky Mountain Tag Team Champions. The promo continues for a bit until Father James Mitchell comes out and starts running down the champs. They argue back and forth until The Nasty Boys attack the Express from behind. The beat down is on with Mitchell cheering the whole thing on. The Express are left in a heap while Mitchell poses with the Nasty Boys. Match #2 The debuting Robert Roode defeats Todd Morton with a running clothesline to the back of the head. The young Canadian had a naturally cocky demeanor that irked many in the audience. Terry Gordy is with Caudle who officially welcomes him back to SMW. Gordy thanks him and says his win at Halloween Scream was just the first step to getting back to the Smoky Mountain Heavyweight Title. He held it once before and it was taken from him much too soon. Woman comes out and tells Gordy that trying to take the title off Earthquake is a waste of time because nobody can stop her force of nature. In fact she says, Gordy would be much better served by signing with Woman's stable. She could use someone to carry her bags while she's shopping. Gordy sarcastically thanks her for the "generous offer" but says he'll stick with his original plan. Woman says he'll regret that decision, after all, hell hath no fury like Woman scorned. Match #3 Steve Mongo McMichael defeats "Tough" Tony Falk with the "Mongo Spike" Mongo joins Caudle and puts over his issue with Kendall Windham. Mongo says he doesn't care about Windham's family legacy, where he's been, what he's done, none of it. Says he ain't afraid of nobody but God and if the "Outlaw" wants to go another round he ain't a hard man to find. Main Event. Smoky Mountain Wrestling TV Title Tournament. "Devious" Danny Doring w/Woman defeats American Kickboxer. Woman tripped AK as he came off the ropes and he stumbled into "Wham, Bam, Thank you ma'am". -
PWF- Professional Wrestling Federation (FLORIDA 1989-)

The New Breed steal the first win in PWF. Hoss with a solid showing. Precious shows up and immediately makes a scene. I like that PWF is wasting no time establishing tournaments to crown their champions. Interesting angle for Grizzly. The High Chief is looking strong. This episode did a great job setting up how dangerous the House of Humperdinck is. PWF is off to a strong start. -
Disalvo gets to flex a bit. Jammer already making friends I see. Thornton comes through for the Parliament. Hyped for Orndorff vs Hansen. Well the RnR didn't hold those national tag titles for long. David Sammartino ain't no quiter, though Larry surely wishes he were. Hogan is confident Nikita will be there come bell time but Debeers continues to circle the scene.

Oakland. Jack is gonna make Iron & Steel rue the day they chased that bounty. Lee finally gets called out on his behavior and Hall drops a bombshell that he won't be teaming with his Brigade brethren due to his own clash with Awesome. The Lover Boy outsmarts Lynn. Something is definitely up between Beetlejuice & the Minister. If the Superstars could get a match with someone their own size, I think that would help. At least Stromfront had a bad night too. San Francisco. Douglas recapture the momentum. Rhodes tries to prove Lee wrong but Gordy is too much. Tina helps Rose to another win. The Diamond Exchange goes bust in trios action. The OWC prove they can both hang in singles action even though neither gets a title. Fresno. Adams' Superkick ko's Pillman. Severn submits Smothers. Lynn rebounds. Hall completes a bad night for the Southern Boys. Eddie & Dean push the Midnights to the brink. Regal is still the best wrestler in California.

The Outlaws win the gold but the Faces of Fear ruin the celebration. Pretty good trick by Finlay. The towel man cometh! Vega proves to have more guys than brains. Vince decides to let the Wolfpac earn their spots. Like the idea of qualifier matches determining the opponents. Rikishi gets some shine. The New Nation adds some muscle in the form of the Ultimate Fighting Machine.

Gary Hart earns his keep by bringing in Bundy. Tito really pushed Muta tonight.

NWA TV: Fallout from Halloween Havoc. 1. Starrcade With Halloween Havoc in the books, we are officially on the road to the biggest night on the wrestling calendar, Starrcade. Jim Crockett Jr announces that the event will air live on pay per view, Thanksgiving night from the Greensboro Coliseum. He confirms the main event will see "Nature Boy" Buddy Landel defend the Ten Pounds of Gold against the "Doctor of Desire" Tom Prichard. 2. How many Horsemen are there? Perhaps the biggest story coming out of Halloween Havoc is the return of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard to the NWA. The three men joined Sean Mooney who asked Flair how he could once again side with these two men who both turned on him. Flair says they were brought together by their mutual desire to be the best to ever do it. He admits he & Tully allowed the NWA World title to come between them but they also pushed each other more than anyone either of them had ever been in the ring with. After they all left the NWA for various reasons Arn sat them all down and reminded them that they're better together. Mooney ask what's their relationship with the current ideration of the Four Horsemen but none of them really give a straight answer. Arn takes control of the interview and says he and Tully are calling out The Road Warriors. Those "face painted freaks" have disgraced the art of tag team wrestling long enough and at Starrcade he and Tully will set things right. 3. Manny Fernandez Fernandez won the "Trick or Treat" battle royal and now has a guaranteed shot at the NWA United States Title at Starrcade. After decimating a local talent Fernandez joins Mooney and says he feels like he's been spinning his wheels in the NWA forever. He's sick and tired of his career not going anywhere, sick and tired of being overlooked and he's sick and tired of being sick and tired. He's got no issue with Kevin Von Erich but the US title is the key to getting the respect he deserves in the NWA and he won't let it slip from his grasp.

Portland. Riggins & Starr better get their heads in the game. So the Mnister is cool with Beetlejuice's more restrained self. Sadly for Cornette, Mother's lawyers couldn't get him entirely out of Dutch's plans. Also, 'hoyden" lol. Jackal draws some fire out of Payne. Iron & Steel are starting to attract some fans. Given this is the territory that produced the "bull pen" & the "wild dogs" i'm not surprised. The Terror Collective largely no sell Dutch's announcement but the two junior members aren't as convincing. Austin also seems to be gathering a following. Awesome & Gordy both looking strong. Rose & Scotty prove Stormfront can go down. Hope the Superstars were paying attention. A pair of successful defenses cap off the night. Eugene. Condrey didn't need Bully's help tonight. The Dreamboats are hyped for their title shot. Dibiase & Hall each impress. Albright pushes Regal to the limit. Cornette's racquet gives the Midnights another win.

After a couple warm up matches, K-Dawg puts down the Moondog to really get things going. Latin Desire gets the win but also a few bruises to go with it. All of Devastation Inc gets involved in a chaotic brawl. Taylor retains but Burke has got to get a rematch. The entertaining reign of the Olympians finally comes to a close thanks to the power of Rock n Roll! I think Idolmania just sputtered out.
-
SMW adds Frankie Kazarian & Robert Roode then drops.
-
Al Poling / 911 and drop.
-
@rainmakerrtvwith two is next.
-
NWA takes Tony Halme.
-
@LowBlowPodcastis up next.
-
NWA adds Bill Demont.
-
I'm a little confused by the list, am I still up?

This weeks episode was mainly covering the fallout from Halloween Scream but Cornette made sure to deliver the announcement he promised last week and it did indeed deliver. Cornette says he's that SMW's next big event, Thanksgiving Thunder will held at the Asheville Civic Center's Thomas Wolfe Auditorium in Asheville North Carolina. He's signed a deal that will see this event aired live on Thanksgiving night on Fox Sports South!
