I remember a few years ago, after one of Rey's knee surgeries, Dave reported that Rey's doctor told hm that he didn't want him even jumping onto the curb from the road.

The 1/24 tag draw bored me to tears. Regarding AJW, I'd also suggest Toyota/Aja from 3/26 with Toyota's title win and their WWWA rematch from June (not solid on the exact date) where Aja gets it back.
-
I could see including the last few minutes of this to show that the teams went to a draw, but this doesn't need to be shown in full. I'd also suggest Kawada/Akiyama 3/21, Kobashi/Misawa 3/26, and Kawada/Misawa 4/6

I haven't seen it in years, so I dunno if the whole match is any good, but I'll also add the Bret/Martel IC Title match from PTW. Or at least just the finish with Bret in the crab and Shawn attacking him to get Martel dq'd, which led to their ridiculous Summerslam match.

I second this, but for the reason being that it was one of the very few times that the WWF Champion (cleanly or not) actually got pinned on TV.

Tommy Dreamer invades USWA from 6/14/97 (according to Youtube). A nice companion to the Lawler invasion of ECW (which I'm sure will be on the set already), Dreamer hits everyone who moves and trashes the studio. While the USWA fans are going crazy and chanting ECW. A great of example of how popular ECW was at this time.

Anything involving the Rockers dissension that led to their breakup in '92. Hogan/Undertaker from Survivor Series, one of Hogan's few WWF jobs. If not the whole match, just the aftermath of the jailhouse match at Summerslam with the Mountie in the NYC jail.
-
Loss, do you anticipate a lot of Shawn on this set? Offhand, I'm thinking of the barbershop angle that ended the Rockers, the first ladder match with Bret, the IC Title win over Davey Boy, Survivor Series with Bret, and Marty's return at the end of the year where Sherri got clocked with the mirror.

From AJW: Hokuto and Kandori vs. Kong and Nakano 3/27. A tag match between four of the best, with Hokuto and Kandori having to play nice. One of my all time favorite matches.

I seem to recall reading, somewhere, that Starrcade was going to be Magnum beating Nikita in an I Quit match. -

Last weekend, Ted DiBiase made an indy appearance and I took the opportunity to ask him his opinions regarding Jumbo being the GOAT. He said that he'd rate Jumbo as one of the greatest Japanese wrestlers of all time, but that he felt that Terry was the best of all time. He also mentioned that he'd trained in Amarillo with Jumbo. -

Billy Robinson is definitely up there. -
Russo says that "a lot" of the Goldust character was his creation. Like was said before, I could see him as a quick placeholder champion, maybe in Sid's role at Survivor Series.

In the sense of the absurdly tough, yet past his prime, Valentine going over the pretty boy Bagwell.

How has nobody mentioned Green Lantern Fan yet?

Silver Kings (Los Cowboys) vs. Freebirds from Clash of Champions XIX. A really fun match with the Luchadores having the cojones to bring all kinds of cool offense, despite only being there to put over the Freebirds. Pillman/Lyger vs. Benoit/Wellington from the same show as well, featuring the possible US debut of an Asai Moonsault. Savage vs. Roberts from the Feb SNME, mostly for the angle at the end where UT saves Savage and Liz. Plus, the Jake/UT funeral parlor angle. If you want to show how campy WWF was at times, then the Warrior/Papa Shango stuff is right there. Also, at least a couple of the Nailz vignettes and the angle where he attacks Bossman. LOD/Money Inc from Summerslam, as the last hurrah of the Road Warriors for nearly four years. The PTW angle where Perfect agrees to team with Savage and pours a pitcher of water on Heenan's head. Greg Valentine vs. Marcus Alexander Bagwell from Beach Blast. A shining example of the Bill Watts mentality. The Paul Orndorff heel turn in SMW, where he snaps and starts dishing out piledrivers (illegal in SMW) like there's no tomorrow.
-
I'd also suggest Yamazaki vs JT Southern from UWFI 7/3/91. Yamazaki supposedly (depending on if you believe Southern) got fed up and started shooting on him.

When did it become somewhat normal for the WWF/WWE Champion to lay down in non title and tag matches? Other than Miz and Rey, the only other person I remember doing it quite a bit was HHH, putting over RVD and Booker several times before winning the blowoff. The only other times I can recall the champion jobbing are Nash in a RAW six man from 1995 putting over Bulldog, and Shawn at IYH International Incident putting over Vader. -
Definitely the Savage/Roberts snakebite angle from WWF TV, and their Tuesday in TX match and angle afterward.

I'm adding this to my list of stuff to try to pick up sooner rather than later, along with Santo's rudo turn and the Satanico/Koshinaka hair match. -

Ditch, what's your basis for putting TNA at number 2? -
Stuart's post saying that Nakamura over Ignashov brought him to tears is still amongst the funniest things I've read when it came to NJ fanboys going gaga over Nakamura.

I imagine he'll do the same thing he's always done, just follow the DG storylines and angles and act like it's always been that way. It was cool when Shingo was in the middle of the whole CIMA/Doi feud in 2007 and teamed with both of them on back to back ROH shows. But it's just annoying now WARRIORS are babyfaces on one show, but heels on the next called Blood Warriors and we're all supposed to just accept it.

I'm wondering if Pac/Yoshino winning the tag titles is a sign over which stable is going to win the decision match for having Pac in their stable. Or, since the PPV won't be airing for a few months, does this mean that if Pac joins Blood Warriors, he'll be joining W-1 by the time it airs?
