    I always get a kick out of Bill Dundee short jokes for some reason. Nice way to date the promo referencing the '90 Super Bowl. Remember when the Super Bowl was almost guaranteed to be a blowout?

    Great promo by all involved. Love the return of coked up Flair promos. Liked Ole using the phrase "work like us" before correcting himself and saying "wrestle like us." Kizafizabe brother!

    Did the camera intentionally mis the racquet shot, since Turner had changed their rules on weapons shots several times over the years? Really good match. I like to think the reason Eaton took that crazy bump off the top to the floor is because Stan and Corny were goading Bobby backstage that Cactus had taken his spot as the craziest bumper in WCW after the Nestea Plunge spot at the Clash, so this was Bobby throwing down the gauntlet to young Mr. Foley. Really like Funk on commentary. He doesn't really have a great voice for it, but he's able to be funny and informative while also being somewhat neutral towards heels and faces. Wish he would have stuck with it rather than making a dozen depressing comebacks, but what can you do?

    Nobody is saying wait until retirement to put guys into the HOF, since lord knows nobody actually retires in pro wrestling. But I don't think there is anything wrong with waiting until a wrestler's prime is over before considering them for the ballot. Punk's run as a main eventer really started about a year ago, and he will be on the ballot in two. Is there any good reason why we should be debating his HOF merits when he will still be very much early into the period which will make or break his resume as a candidate? Most baseball players don't hit the HOF ballot until they are well into their 40s, and well past their prime, where it is easier to evaluate their careers. No reason this shouldn't be done the same way for a wrestling Hall of Fame.

    One thing worth asking is if Magnum would have stayed in WCW post-'88 after Dusty left. Dusty was one of Magnum's biggest friends in the office and it's possible Magnum would have followed Dusty out the door and to Florida, especially if he hadn't gotten the NWA title by that point.

    You're not the only one - Dundee seems to have no idea who Rockin' Randy is either, as he seems to be making up a height and a weight for him in the promo, and even a character for the guy, assuming a guy with the name Rockin' Randy will want to fight him. Lawler is great throughout this, first looking for Bill Dundee under the table, making fun of Dave Brown as he's going over details for the school, and then laughing uproariously at the idea of a Bill Dundee wrestling school. Not sure if that was so great for business, but live TV, you know?

    Does it make me a bad person that I want to see Lawler get real heat out of these segments? Seems like every fan wants to be insulted by Lawler.

    Fuller is such a great promo. Brian Lee is a bump on a log, but Robert Fuller is great.

    Oh man, the debut of Arrogance! I would have loved to have been in the brainstorming session where Vince came up with this idea...I imagine it involved Scarface-levels of cocaine.

    "Never before have two men been so equally matched in popularity, strength, and stamina." Man, that is a pretty backhanded compliment he's paying to Hulk Hogan! Sounds like they want to protect the IC title by not immediately making the match for the WWF title and drawing out which title will be defended, and making it both titles on the line also protects the IC title some (even though it's ludicrous to think Hulk Hogan actually has a shot at winning the IC belt). These are things that WWE just doesn't care about today, and that's a shame.

    Man, how was Vader's eye ever OK after this? Are we sure he hasn't been rocking a glass eye the past several years? Anyway, this was a war, and major props to Vader for finishing this match with his eye in that kind of shape, and not really slowing down much, either. Is it as good a match as it would have been if he had two good eyes? Maybe not, but I also didn't see Vader noticeably scale back his repertoire as a result, either.

    Good match, like most I really enjoyed the Tenryu/Choshu exchanges, but then again, I've pretty much liked everything I've seen out of Tenryu on the set so far.

    Which goes back to the point that Dave has put people on the ballot WAY too early. We shouldn't be talking about CM Punk's Hall of Fame chances for another 10 years, minimum.

    The crowd really likes Jumbo, and Jumbo seems to like mugging for the crowd. Good match. Question, is there a reason there is no commentary for this match, but there is commentary for Zbyszko/Saito?

    Good, borderline great match. Zbyszko doesn't do much on offense, but like Loss said, there isn't any wasted movement either. He has almost a Jimmy Connors thing going with all the screaming and yelling he is doung, both on offense and while he is selling. Saito as a babyface is interesting, and he does a great job getting the crowd behind him. Maybe the last truly great AWA World title match? At the very least, probably the last time the title was really relevant anyway.

    I guess they couldn't really say "Sting injured his knee slipping off the cage," so as far as covering your ass goes, this is as good an excuse as any. Can't really be portraying the future of the company as clumsy or weak. Still, they probably should have taped something backstage that they could have shown either here or on WCW (unless they DID tape something and I just haven't seen it yet) just to make it look better, since most of the fans who watched the Clash could tell how he was injured.

    Nothing to add that hasn't already been said - a fun transition from Terry Funk to Jim Cornette.

    Alright, so Kerry definitely fucked that chick, right? I like to think this is Kerry Von Erich's Rocky IV moment, only somehow his version of Rocky V winds up even more depressing than the actual film, since Rocky doesn't blow his brains out at the end of Rocky V because he's about to go to prison (although in retrospect, maybe he should have).

    Really enjoyed the finish and it had a nice visual with Fujiwara trying to get the ankle submission but Maeda chokes him out while he's bleeding from the mouth. There were times before the finish where this failed to keep my attention, but overall, a good match.

    What a clusterfuck. As it was, J-Tex was about two months past their expiration date as top heels going into the match, as evidenced by the Dragon Master somehow being part of a major Clash main event. It's heel vs heel, and the only wrestler the fans seem to like is Muta, who's wrestling his last match as a regular. And Sting wrecks his knee coming down from the cage and is never quite the same, only Flair doesn't realize it and tries to attack him anyway. The match itself is fine, fun to watch Sawyer bump around and the crowd go nuts for Muta, but this is pretty much a disaster.

    Ole Anderson seems a lot more comfortable being a heel. The steel cage beat the Horsemen to the job of injuring Sting.

    Damn, I mean Doom, gets unmasked. Making the announcers think that Doom was anybody other than Butch Reed and Ron Simmons made them look stupider than Norman and Rick Steiner combined.
