  1. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/06/wwe-money-in-bank-2016-live-blog.html I'm gonna be doing a live blog over at Segunda Caida. I don't really know the card, just know that this will hopefully be the end of awful Raw segments with Jericho and Ambrose hanging out in a ring with ladders.
  2. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/06/is-tna-not-entirely-terrible-now-small.html?m=1 I watched TNA last night for the first time in maybe a year? 2? And I actually really enjoyed it. Hardy vs Galloway was real good, fun Trevor Lee match, fun 10 man tag, actually overall enjoyed the vibe of the show. Granted there was fat forward aplenty, but you just can't watch modern wrestling tv or porn without FF. Still, pleasantly surprised.
  3. We were usually at church on Saturday mornings, so my dad would set a tape to record cartoons on Fox, NBC or CBS (we only had an antennae so only got a few channels). Since he would just let the tape run on one channel for the 6 hours of tape, I just had to figure out what channel had the best cartoon lineup. I must have chosen Fox one week as at the end of the tape was WWF (I think it aired at 10 or 11 AM in our area) and I vividly remember seeing Jake Roberts rip off Rick Rude's tights and drag him around the ring by his torn tights. I was horrified. The idea of someone pantsing me and dragging me around had never occurred to me as something that could happen. But, for whatever reason I was hooked. This must have been towards the end of 1988, when I was 7.

  5. Ah thanks for posting it! It took awhile to write and was maybe not necessary, but it was fun to go back and revisit the history of my opinions.
  6. I used to be impressed by how football players were able to maintain traction and turn on a dime on soft grass, but then I looked closer and discovered they wore cleats!!
  7. They seem at least to be matching the talented guys up more often without ruining things by throwing Porky or Pierroth in there. Pierroth has been one of the most consistently awesome guys over the past year. I'll admit I've wondered if I've let the contempt others have for him colour my impression of him somewhat, but I'll still need a lot of convincing of this. From what I've seen he can be decent in brawls but frequently messes up anything more complex. I was apparently unaware at how in the minority I am on liking Comandante Pierroth. Perhaps I've just gotten lucky with the sample of his matches I've watched over the last year plus. Prompted by your question and what I feel are some pretty unnecessary tweets aimed at me, I'm working on a blog post at Segunda Caida going over why I like Pierroth, and finding when he first started standing out to me as someone to check out.

Man I thought Miz looked terrible in that match

    WWE Payback

Shame due to the match layout that Ryback's insane gorilla press slam was hardly sold. That thing was awesome.

I'm doing a live blog over at Segunda Caida. I so far do not see the point of that Corbin/Ziggler match. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/05/wwe-payback-2016-live-blog.html Nowhere to go but up!
  12. Any idea when the most recent season of Total Divas goes up on the Network? It just ended last week on E!
  13. And it should be noted that I wasn't aware of how liked or disliked the main event six man was before I watched and wrote about it. I avoided any results or thoughts from others. Now I don't think you're saying I was burying it to be kewl or something, just pointing out I went into the shows not knowing anything. I fully know how live experience can have a completely different effect on matches. It's one of the reasons I've not gone back and watched last years Mania weekend Evolve/WWN shows, as they were my favorite live shows of the year. Shoot, same reason I've never gone back and watched ROH's Cow Palace show from like 7-8 years ago. But damn that main event six man was bad I agree with you on Thatcher. I may have been his earliest drum thumper, and he's just lacked for me this year. Both of his Callihan matches have underwhelmed me, among other stuff. Where I used to think Gulak was a distant 3rd in the whole Thatcher/Busick/Gulak group, Gulak is now consistently my favorite guy to watch, with Yehi right there with him. Riddle is a flat out natural. I even mentioned in some review that I don't think there's been an easier wrestling ROY since Jun Akiyama.
  14. You don't possibly see how one thing is even worse than all those other really bad things you mentioned?
  15. This really isn't about being a good person. There are assholes, and then there are people who murder their children. It's not like he just took a couple shits in a couple gym bags.
  16. The infamous Ishii/Makabe "next level psychology" match aired on AXS TV this week. They occasionally clip matches and I was wondering if they would clip out that horrible exchange so JR and Barnett wouldn't have to embarrass themselves covering it up. But they showed it in all its glory and JR dug his heels in and talked about all of the brutality on display.
  17. Phil and I reviewed the WWN Supershow and three of the matches from it landed on our MOTY list. Second half of the show wasn't much but that first half can stand up against any wrestling show ever. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/04/wwn-supershow-mercury-rising-4216.html Hopefully we can get reviews up for 58 and 59 soon.
  18. I'm confident I'm not being affected by the recency of it, but Shane/Taker was one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen. I felt bad for both men, and it was just the slowest prolonged death of a match. Both guys looked like they needed to be taken out back and shot.
  19. Any chance somebody can upload this match? It doesn't appear to be online. The 30 min. time limit draw between these two teams from a week before is online, but not a whisper of this one. Help?
  20. I'm doing a live blog and watching it with my buddy Tim Livingston. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/04/wrestlemania-32-live-blog.html That Kalisto/Ryback match was tons of fun. This was the best Ryback has looked in ages.
  21. On Jericho's podcast he said it was after Cliff Burton died.... in the middle of Hulkamania. His story keeps evolving as he originally said he was "best pals" with Lars during the "early days" of Metallica. "Early days" can be taken any way, from the inception of the band right on up to Burton's death where he now says he auditioned. I love the thought of Hogan really digging Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets enough to quit the biz, but..... It's probably more believable than him also trying to play bass in the Stones at the same time. Would've been news to Bill Wyman.
  22. So, Terry Funk showed up and was awesome, and I really really liked that Big E/Rusev match.

That interviewer was so distractingly bad.

    WWE Roadblock

Man that main event was dull. And that visual pin was just about the most poorly executed false finishes I've ever seen. Was Reigns not available to confront anybody? Is he hurt?

Who was the agent that decided to have Stardust take 95% of the Zayn match?
