The Vince is a "genius" shit gets tossed around a lot, but it really must take a special kind of genius to look at the Sheepherders and say, "I'm gonna make you two into delightful babyfaces!" and make it work.

Ridiculous quotes from WO.com columnists

So I sez, "It was only 78,000 ... SEVENTY-EIGHT." She looked at me like she'd never even heard of Zane Bresloff! "So I says, Junk YARD Dog?..more like Junk FOOD Dog, AMIRITE?!!!!" -
That hits the nail right on the head, man. I remember when I was like, 14 and the Bulldogs had just first started appearing on TV. My best friend and I were talking wrestling and he asked me if I had seen this new team The British Bulldogs. I hadn't, and the next Saturday we were watching together and they were on. It was like seeing a shot of exciting shit we'd never seen before from two guys who looked cool and jacked. A lot of it doesn't hold up for me now, but at the time it was fucking cool.

Ha, that's awesome dude.

Linda McMahon for Senate catch-all thread

And a lot of it is that they didn't grow up rich, at least Vince didn't, and he still has a chip on his shoulder about it. -
Muraco wasn't a cool heel. I was just a weird kid.
-
And The Magnificent Muraco did this and this I can't find the promo where Backlund has just lost the belt, does a heartfelt interview with Mean Gene where he's crying...he leaves, Muraco and Albano walk in and start going "BOOO HOOO! BOO HOOO! WAH! WAH!" It was glorious. He's the greatest heel ever.
-
PWI? Come on, bro. I loves me some Patera, but the draws there are Bruno and Backlund with Patera being a part of it cause he wasn't a fat typical WWWF heel. Muraco was so fucking hated it was insane. I liked him and wouldn't say so to my pals cause they loved Snuka so much they'd have kicked my ass.
-
Dylan, The Snuka/ Muraco feud had people my age at the time wanting to see Muraco killed. It was one of THE most heated feuds ever. Teenage boys in the NorthEast worshiped Snuka and wanted to see him eat Muraco's entrails. That's why the end of the cage match stinks so much. And I know Bock traveled, but not like Flair who had to wrestle so many stiffs as a touring NWA Champ.

1. Jerry Blackwell or Vader? After seeing what I've seen from the AWA set, I'm saying Blackwell. Blackwell was just done and gone when I first saw AWA in the 80's so the set has really shown me just how awesome he was. Give me the short giant fat guy who taunts like a crazy redneck and bumps like a pinball over the fat guy with a jockstrap on his face. Ed Wiskowski/Col. Debeers or Dutch Mantell? : I love Wiskowski, but Dutch is on that "other level" as far as I'm concerned. Ken Patera or Don Muraco?: Oh Muraco in a cakewalk. The Magnificent Muraco was cool as fuck AND had people frothing at the mouth wanting him to die. "Smart" fans of the day called him a lazy beach bum..so they made it part of his character. Patera, while great, always side absorbed heat. He absorbed Blackwell and Sheik's heat and he absorbed Studd and Heenan's heat. Nick Bockwinkel or Ric Flair?: Flair, if only for the fact we never got to see Bock travel territories and work with all the local heroes and stiffs. But Bockwinkel was so fucking awesome.

Yeah, if I was gonna answer based on what I see at house shows then Cena and Rey are definitely draws.

I posted this at DVDR in the Too Short section re: The AWA set, and just realized I might get a better set of answers here. It was regarding the Lawler/ Mulligan vs The Sheiks match. "Yeah, I loved this for all the reasons already mentioned. Lawler was just fucking awesome and so was Blackwell. That multiple fist drop spot looked fucking killer. Patera was really good, too. Mulligan stunk, but it didn't hurt the match. Was Mulligan ever good? I've only seen a tiny bit of his Seventies stuff, not enough to form an opinion. But I've seen a lot of his Eighties stuff and he pretty much stinks. I love his interviews and all that, though. Hell, I remember seeing the guy live at a WWF show at the Spectrum in 1986 at the very end of his career. He wrestled Jimmy Jack Funk and won really quick. But he was totally gassed. We were sitting next to the entrance and when he walked by after the match, the poor guy looked like he was about to have a heart attack. Granted, Vince had him dressing up in full "Bunkhouse" clothes at the time so he was wearing jeans and a heavy red long underwear/ union suit type top out there under the hot lights." I just found the card at The History Of WWE site, man was that a packed show. -

So, is it crazy that I want Resident Evil to "unretire" to put his two cents in?
