  1. John Cena has been incredible in "Peacemaker" on HBO MAX. Seriously, as far as acting goes, he's better than Dwayne Johnson. He's hilarious and the show is just incredibly great.
  2. GCW show was super fun. They billed it as "The biggest Indie show ever" and there was a lot of Indie shit. But I really liked it. Well worth 25 bucks. And the production work is really great considering. The vignettes looked great, the camera work was sharp, it looked great. Well, that one fucker who PCO piledrived onto a ladder didn't look great. That fucker landed headfirst onto a rung and bent it, and his neck.
  3. Jeff Jarrett as the Last Outlaw is great. He just grabbed Vlad!
  4. Hahaha, this rules. Cardona's reinvention is great. This is the first time I've ever given a shit about him.
  5. I'm watching it right now. The multi man ladder match is on and it's a fucking mess. A fun mess, though. Vlad the superfan is at ringside , that's cool.
  6. Anyone else watching the GCW PPV tonight?
  7. They're missing out on those of us who have cut the cord and only stream and watch network on antennas. The TNT and TBS aps only work if you type in your cable/ Satellite info. It's only for people with cable. I'd watch Dynamite if I could, but that's the big difference still between AEW and WWE that no one talks about. AEW Dynamite is only available to people with cable. I can't imagine Khan isn't trying to figure out a streaming deal with some service.
  8. Is it the shard of wood from Magnum vs. Tully? It must have some tales to tell.
  9. So was Gorgeous George, Rikki Starr, Adrian Street and many others. Playing on the homophobia of wrestling fans is something that's thankfully past us, right? But we can still appreciate the commitment performers make when embracing a character. Dustin totally became something new and insane and made it work so much that he still wears the paint and jumpsuit as part of his current character.
  10. I'm listening to Don Muraco on Stories with Brisco and Bradshaw. Muraco explained why he did the "eating a meatball sandwich while beating up Frank Williams " thing it that match. They had given him Albano as his manager so he wanted to reflect the influence of his new manager, by being a gross slob. He said it was the worst heartburn he ever had.
  11. Sami's the best. When folks were scratching their heads at him probably re-signing, I figured they just don't watch. Sami is one the handful of guys allowed to do bullet points and improv on the mic, and he seems to have creative input on his stuff. Squeaky wheel gets the grease, given Sami's rep as someone who always has something to say loudly backstage. Vince tends to like guys like that who bitch but have ideas. Thats why his heel character is so great. It's his real personality turned up to 10, shit turned up to 19.
  12. At the SuperShow we went to this past Summer , I saw at least three little girls dressed up as Alexa with the Lilly dolls.
  13. Demons sure, gimmick? I don't think so. Goldust was great. Watching Dustin create a character that's all his, instead of being Dusty Jr., and owning it, was fantastic.
  14. There was also some folks asking why Kenny is apparently still cool with Scrull, and his response is summed up as " Cornette's an asshole cuck!" And he called a guy a pedo based on the guys profile pic of him and his daughter. Lots of stupidity to go around. And it's not Twitter's fault. I've seen folks seem to blame the platform when people act like assholes. That's like me saying this message board made ME act like an asshole the many times I have.
  15. Kingston is the best character AEW has, but .... that ain't happening anytime soon or ever. I buy every AEW PPV and the only REAL disappointment has been Eddie always losing. Wins and losses don't matter overall but Christ. Eddie has to get a PPV win that means something soon, or else it's not gonna matter when they get around to it.
  16. Unless he's about to become TV character "Evil Mr. Khan" , owner who thinks his experience as a brown person who's also a billionaire and thinks people of color winning fake pro wrestling matches, is comparable to the struggle, he fucked up. I'm fantasy booking that he was partying with Jericho when he decided to make a total asshole out of himself. Billionaires are all awful people. Even if they make a great Pro Wrestling show.
  17. The only wrestling podcast/ YouTube show I listen to anymore regularly is Stories with Briscoe and Bradshaw. The sound quality isn't always the best, but it's really, really good. I know " everyone hates JBL" but this is 2021 JBL. He's not the same guy he was 15 years ago. And Gerald Brisco is just the best guy.
  18. That Chicago crowd was hot as hell last night, especially for the end segment.
  19. My copy of the book arrived this past weekend. I'm almost done reading it, great stuff. The description of the Four Horseman that kicks off the Flair vs. Morton chapter made me laugh out loud.
  20. Not any weirder than Ox Baker at my first ROH show but definitely not close as cool as Ox Baker and Dusty Rhodes kicking off and ending the show where Jay Briscoe almost bled to death. Who knows, though? Maybe Braun got the DVD's and loved Carnage Crew as much as I did. I'm not gonna gatekeeper that giant redneck. Edit: I really need to write up the experiences I had at those ROH and JAPW shows from those two years. I was so lucky to be at some really great shows and be there for the explosion of stars like Joe, Punk, Danielson, AJ, Homicide, The Briscoes, Matt Striker( The unibrow guy, not the bad announcer), and THE EMBASSY. Wow, I'm rambling. But it really was an amazing two years of wrestling shows in Philly and Jersey..and eventually NYC.
  21. I was pretty much a regular at ROH shows from 2004- early 2006. I had a lot of fun, made some pals and acquaintances, including Samoa Joe, and saw a ton of great wrestling shows. Promotions come and promotions go, and ROH lasted longer than anyone thought it would. Sad to see it go, even though I haven't watched it in years.
  22. Old couples often pass away at the same time. I worked in elder care for 23 years and many, many times I saw one partner pass and then the other pass soon after. It's actually quite beautiful. Kal Rudman was an amazing man whose influence on the music biz lives on to this day. And Kal and Dick Graham are the best announcing team ever. They made every match at the Spectrum special.
  23. I'm currently reading the book "American Comics: A History " by Jeremy Dauber. It's outstanding and essential reading for comics fans.
  24. Jax aside, I think the point being discussed is how fans will dismiss reckless behavior from " great" performers and also shit on reckless behavior from " bad" performers. It's the whole thing where fans praise stiff work from their favs and bitch about stiff work from the wrestlers who aren't " good workers".
  25. The other three " EVP's" all turned heel and flourished. Cody just seems to be fighting against what the crowd wants.
