Sendai Girls 20th anniversary! Incredible show, Reina Takano's debut was thrilling shit and suggests she has a pretty bright future. Spike vs. Senka was just perfect and I'm excited to see where both go from here. Hyperspeed are now a permanent addition which fits well enough and will be a welcome part of shows to come, curious as to the prospect of singles stuff with them down the line. BBMB vs. Red Energy is exactly what you expect from those two teams and therefore very good, and Big Hash vs. VENY wasnt my favorite of the matches from her title reign (that honor goes to the Iida or Manami matches) but was certainly well enjoyed.

Watched this, ZAMAYA is a Zaria rip-off which is not something I would have ever expected to say. Kojima teaching Kozone how to do lariats on a tree is exactly what I want from a segment. First time watching Austin Aries, he's actually really good, solid match against Diego Hill. Last I checked Trevor Lee was a heel, but Riddle is wrestling it like he's the heel and Trevor is a face. I guess it's just heel vs heel where the crowd is cheering for nobody? they sure were loud though. Take away?: I should watch some Austin Aries

So, first night of the G1, how we feeling? Wolf vs. Henare was fine, encouraging for both of them but not worth going out of the way for. OSKAR and Ice both showed out against mediocre opponents. Shingo tried his hardest and still failed to carry a 85% dead Jake Lee. Kinda wasn't paying attention to ZSJ vs. Umino. Uemura vs. Newman was really exciting even if the dynamic was kinda unclear, messy match but an enjoyable one nonetheless. Oleg vs. Oiwa was exactly what we knew it would be going in, more evidence they're two of the best in the company and Oiwa is one of the best doing it period. Tsuji vs. Takeshita was once again exactly what you expect from the two of them, big fat meh. Decent show overall. Any predictions for this year?

You know my whole ballot has completely fallen apart, the whole thing was held together by willpower and a deadline and now its probably completely changed already and will continue to do so.

Not to mention Steve Wright is pretty controversial even among britwres fans from what I've seen, too much wrestling skill meets too much ego = giving nobody anything ever and a lot of his matches are kinda ruined that way by just stiffing the fuck out of everyone the whole time because he could. I really like his stuff with Mile Zrno though, I will say. Of the britwres candidates despite his notoriety he was never one id've really expected to do well (unlike say, Pat Roach who got hardcore shafted, which is partially my fault for not getting into him sooner but oh well).

Gotta agree with this, feels like he's rapidly losing momentum and also just obviously repeating what theyve done with Andrade. I like the DCF much more than most, but christ not literally every single heel has to be in the faction lol.

I think I've really come around on MJF this year, a bit indulgent sometimes but truly is there anyone trying harder right now? Granted a good bit of that is due to reading Matt D's reviews, I'm an easily swayed person.

Watched the matches I wanted to watch skipping a few like Omega/ZSJ and Ospreay/Swerve I never had interest in. It's good to see Mox return to being a heel even if it's just for one match. Totally shouldve pulled the trigger on SLK as champ she looked right at home in AEW in the match even if it felt like it couldve shaved off 3-5 minutes, which come to think of it means she's even more suited to AEW. Mone/Maya was definitely MOTN, they really set the match up to mean so much between the tournament final, maya facing her idol, and the nods to her brother's recent passing, and they really milked the tension. Specifically I loved the spot where they kept trying and failing to power eachother up, really engaging stuff. Maya has a bit to go in personality department but she feels really capable of being atop the division at this rate. Cage match was just fucking fun, Max sweeping away the tacks was brilliant and I'm a sucker for everything Mark Briscoe at this point. Also, I watched the pre-show the night after and Garcia/Moloney was really solid shit, I think I'm starting to get the hype around Garcia. I have a softspot for Skye Blue so Maika and Skye Blue was fun, and Thunder Rosa was such a delightful ball of energy in the tag with Olympia.

I don't think the Oba/Brock thing is quite as bad in the grand scheme of things. I mean morally speaking its more Lesnar which, ew, and it's pretty stupid to have him relinquish his title shot when he could just, beat Lesnar "because we all knew he was gonna cost me anyways" and THEN use his shot but I guess its an unwritten rule you can only keep your shot for like 2 weeks max. But overall its at least not as bad of a direction as Bron's getting in the vision. Anyways I'm not watching because it's almost comical how little of worth there is to watch there at this point even setting aside MAGA, Lesnar & The Saudis.

Yeah, I think Sheamus is one of the few people I'd say is good enough to be worth signing at 48 with a completely fucked up back and spine, You're getting like a max 12 matches out of him but it'd be one hell of a 7-12 match run. That said, more old guys coming out of WWE is definitely the opposite of what they need right now, MCMG already feels like pushing it if that rumor is true.

How do we feel about Sayaka Kurara? It's pretty wild the level of push she's gotten

Anyways i've become a full on Senka truther, I dont think there's anyone more exciting in wrestling even including Miu. I absolutely adored the Spike match on the recent Sendai 20th anniversary show (not to discredit Spike who I also really like), and between that and the Miyu and Hero matches I'm pretty convinced. I'm also really starting to fall in love with Ryohei Oiwa, he's just exactly what I want to see from wrestling (and it doesnt hurt he's super fuckin hot). Uemura really gets me fired up watching him too. Also really losing hope for Bron & Oba at this rate.
