  1. Thanks for the comments and I will adjust that for future episodes. Unfortunately I already recorded this week's episode, so it will take some time. Next week we start to go into the Extreme Vault and review the ECW ppvs in order. Next week after that will be a top 6 episode, so hopefully that keeps things spiced up. Actually, I am considering going into a rotation of Week 1: Extreme Vault (ECW PPV reviews) Week 2: Wrestler Snapshot Week 3: Top 6 Week 4: Whatever we feel like that week
  2. I love love love the main event of '89. Heenan's family is the greatest heel team ever. From Arn & Haku being workhorses to Heenan being the perfect chicken shit heel in the corner. Then you have The Rockers and Warrior and even Niedhart as a great babyface team. Just an amazing story through out.
  3. What happened to Western Canada and Ontario?
  4. It was a real fun one to do, thanks for listening.
  5. Click here. On this week’s episode, Steven Graham is joined by Dylan Hales (Wrestling Culture) and Jason Mann (Wrestlespective Radio) to focus the Wrestler Snapshot #6 on “Gentleman” Chris Adams. We also answer the listener question of the week and give our recommendations. A very fun episode this week. 6. Click here. On this week’s episode, Steven Graham is joined by Will (of Wrestling with the Past) and Johnny Sorrow (of Titans of Wrestling) to discuss the Clash of the Champions. Although that happens a little, the show has more tangents than a first-year Calculus text book. The crew discuss everything from black wrestlers and fat wrestlers to Val Venis and Vince Russo. If you are looking for a discussion on the Clash of the Champions, look elsewhere. If you are looking for fun, look here. 7. I've heard this a lot. Wrestler A is having a great year, look at all these great matches. If wrestler B has another great match in this upcoming bout, then he is a shoe in for wrestler of the year. I understand a lot of people determine that a wrestler's greatness is determined by the quantity of quality matches. However, I never thought about it that way. I look at the performances. A wrestler can be an amazing seller and be great in the ring, but does not have the opportunity to have the great matches. For example, Chris Masters' run on Superstars is considered great by many, however how many great matches did it produce? Just curious on what people's thoughts are on this.
  8. Sorry about the audio issues, but I am glad people enjoyed the concept. Especially since I plan to re-visit it a lot. An episode on Chris Adams with Dylan and Jason Mann (of Wrestlespective) is on tap for two weeks from now. Next week is the promised COTC show with Johnny & Will. So, some good stuff on the horizon.
  9. File currently being replaced, if yours sounds like crap. Re-download in an hour.
  10. Click here. On this week’s episode of The Pro-Wrestling Super Show on The Place to be Nation, Steven Graham is joined by Pete (of Titans of Wrestling podcast) and Scott Criscuolo (of Place to be Podcast, Main Event podcast, and the Extra Point podcast). Finally The Wrestler Snapshot has returned, now in audio form. The Wrestler Snapshot #5 focuses on Chris Jericho. The panel also answers the “Listener Question of the week” and gives their recommendations. You can follow along at home, as the panel discusses these matches. 1) Chris Jericho vs. Lance Storm (Ladder Match, 2/4/94) 2) Chris Jericho vs. Ultimo Dragon (WAR 7/7/95)* 3) Chris Jericho vs. Ultimo Dragon (WCW Bash at the Beach ’97)** 4) Chris Jericho vs. Christian (Ladder Match, WWE Unforgiven ’04)** 5) Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio (WWE The Bash ’09)** * – as seen on the Chris Jericho WWE DVD release ** – as seen on the WWE Network Remember to like, subscribe, rate and review on iTunes (if you want to) and to check out the PWSS on tumblr @ prowrestlingsupershow.tumblr.com.

  12. Pete (Titans) and Scott (Place to be Podcast) will be doing the return of The Wrestler Snapshot on Chris Jericho tonight. If you have any questions you can post them here, whether Jericho or not Jericho related. We'll answer anything as the listener question of the week.

Click here On this week's Pro-Wrestling Super Show, Steven Graham is joined by Justin Rozzero (of Place to be Podcast, Kevin Kelly Show, etc...) and Aaron George (of Place to be Nation) to do a "Year at a Glance" of the WWF in 1996. 14. La Parka in WCW. Seriously, he could had been the guy to take down the nWo.
  15. It would be funny if something happened in the game and the entire crowd started celebrating in the middle of a meaningless match just to hear JBL and Cole try to justify that it was because of the action in the ring I was at a Ring of Honor show last year when the Leafs were in the playoffs and when the Leafs scored the crowd went nuts and finally when the Leafs won the game, the crowd erupted. I never watched the show to see what the announcers said though.
  16. This was the most fun episode yet, i would think. Just all over the place sillyness.
  17. Go here for the episode. On this week’s Pro-Wrestling Super Show at the Place to be Nation, Steven Graham is joined by Kelly from Titans of Wrestling & Parv from Titans of Wrestling and Where The Big Boys Play to discuss our Top 6 in Unheralded Roles, to answer the listener question of the week and to give our recommendations. It’s an episode that is plagued with technical difficulties. Remember to subscribe and rate and review in iTunes, please. In other news, the Pro-Wrestling Super Show has arrived on Tumblr. 18. Shit, I am still in 88 (in watching all ppvs ever) and I want to catch up before I listen to anymore. Sadly, I have to delay listening to this one.
  19. These will be in a somewhat chronological order as I think of them: time limit draws near falls gimmicks masks elaborate robes elaborate ring attire heels & babyfaces rope running leaping off of the turnbuckles using the turnbuckles as a weapon visually impressive looking holds that would not be effective in a shoot throws more complex finishes more exciting looking highspots flying head scissors as state of the art flying managers heel managers cheating cheating heel managers blood foreign objects valets promos brawling outside of the ring no DQ matches closed fists angles post match brawls pre match attacks run ins matches that don't take place in a ring tag team matches six man tag team matches eight man tag team matches elimination tag team matches babyface in peril top rope splash as state of the art flying signature moves as finishes head drops stiff bombs table spots fire inter-gender matches entrance music moonsaults as state of the art flying MMA holds tapping out to submit pyro theatrical storytelling/psychology heel authority figures wacky flipz & topes as state of the art flying You get the idea. I can list a million more. At some point in time, each of these things failed to exist. All were created or innovated to add more excitement to the matches or in some cases, the presentation of the matches. New moves, different pacing, new layers of psychology, whatever. And over the course of time, when these changes pile up, you end up with a change of standards that is very hard (if not impossible) to go back from. If you eliminate everything from this list, you are left with two bland looking men exchanging worked amateur wrestling holds. Had wrestling never evolved, had the standards never changed, we would still be looking at two bland men exchanging worked wrestling holds. How is this so hard to understand? The standards are constantly changing. Good or bad doesn't matter. Personal taste is irrelevant. The standards change whether you like it or not. That's how the world works. Things evolve. Nothing stays stagnant. Ok, if you define standards as what you listed then yes they change. I thought we were talking about standards, as in the ways to judge a match. Does it have good psychology? Does it entertain me and the crowd? Is there an emotional connection, etc.... Those have not changed. I can see why you thought everybody was idiots.
  20. So, what are the standards that have changed. Let's be specific
  21. The part about your argument that I do not get is this: if you feel standards change, that means that 1989 wrestling is worse than 2014 wrestling. That just isn't true. If standards change, then things are getting better. There are parts that are better and there are parts that are worse. False. I never, ever said or made the argument that wrestling constantly gets better over time. I said standards change. For better or worse. Two totally different things. You may very well prefer to watch that 90 minute best of three falls world title match I alluded to consisting of 90% matwork contested by gimmickless men in plain black tights. It is 100% opinion based whether that is better or worse, but it is indisputable that standards have changes since that was the norm. So, what exactly do you mean by standards change? If all you mean is that in a modern match you expect better finishers, than sure. However, what does that have to do with anything? You can watch old stuff and just expect it to end differently. It doesn't really change anything. I just don't get what you are saying?
  22. The part about your argument that I do not get is this: if you feel standards change, that means that 1989 wrestling is worse than 2014 wrestling. That just isn't true. If standards change, then things are getting better. There are parts that are better and there are parts that are worse.
  23. I just did some looking into this and there seems to be an issue with itunes v11 that gives a lot of people errors with podcasts. There are threads on apple support, with no responses from apple. It's something about how itunes interacts with podcasts. That is incredibly annoying.
  24. This is my scenario as well. I download through iTunes onto my iPod, and every time the episode glitches. The Lucha episode stopped and had to be restarted about seven times, until I finally said I'd had enough and moved on to something else. That is so strange. I have to do some research into this.
