  1. Bockwinkel and Robinson did have a legend match, in Japan 1992 for UWFi.
  2. Honestly the whole thing does not sound that bad. I am sure I have attended much more useless seminars (non-wrestling related) that were way more expensive than this one.
  3. I thought so because Parv replied by talking about 1972 smart fans.
  4. Masahiro Chono was a New Japan guy, so I don't get where the Giant Baba booker comment of Chad came from.
  5. I could not agree more. After both guys throwing the worst strikes imaginable (and lots of them) it really felt good seeing Gulak (and to a lesser degree ZSJ) go all out with the stiffness. Daniel Bryan is slowly jumping the shark as a commentator for me. This week he seemed sounded like Gabe in 2004 switching almost randomly between normal speaking and shouting.
  6. He actually also gets press passes for WWE though he rarely uses them. His main argument (which I think is bullshit) for that is that for wrestling reporting being there live has no benefit. Last year at Wrestlemania he only attended as he could watch the show in a skybox and have access to the commentary.
  7. Wasn't the argument more that this is the most likely thing that would happen to him if he would be signed and called up immediately?
  8. The PS3 app is a buggy piece of shit. I have already become used to the occasional crash and that shows sometimes don't want to disappear from the "continue watching" list, but for some weeks the thing has become much worse. Now sometimes when I start the application the "continue watching" list is just plain empty, sometimes a restart of the the app helps, currently it does not. In addition I have also seen shows that I have never watched or that I finished watching months ago appear at the top of the "continue watching" list. That the whole thing usability-wise lacks the most obvious features (like list WWE shows in a chronological order) I probably don't have to mention.
  9. Ibushi's german suplex looked much more dangerous than the brainbuster.
  10. I actually prefered Tajiri vs. Metalik, Ibushi vs. Alexander was too spotastic / near fall-tastic for my taste.
  11. I remember Meltzer bringing that up.

  13. They really asked for the Goldberg chants by giving him the "feed me more" catchphrase which resonates with "who's next?" a bit too much.
  14. Not being polished is putting it very lightly. He looked like a guy on a 2002 ROH Boston undercard.
  15. That Kenneth Johnson guy might have a great story but he was by far the worst wrestler in the tournament so far. He messed up half of the stuff he tried and stumbled around the ring as if this was his first match. Apart from Johnson I liked the second week much more than the first week. The crowd was also much more into the show.
  16. Kudos to Bix for the Stringer Bell reference.
  17. Who was that comment about having to be a pharmacist when trying to smuggle drugs into Japan about? The only pharmacist in pro wrestling I can think about is Joe Malenko.
  18. The "choking" section might have been the most disturbing thing I have ever heard on a wrestling podcast and that covers a lot of ground.
  19. I think this segment was part of the first WCW TV show I ever watched (either this or the previous one, I am not sure). It's not hard to understand why it took me another year or so until I gave WCW another shot.
  20. As shitty as WCW TV was at this period Beach Blast has a hell of a line-up, at least what Bischoff was running down here.

  22. My favorite thing on the show was JBL telling Bryon Saxton "Jimmy Hoffa is burried somewhere here in New Jersey. I wish you were too." My least favorite thing was Dean Ambrose trying the rebound lariat in a cage.
  23. Considering the goal according to Meltzer (pushing Stephanie's public profile) I am sure it will be as honest as the "a day in my life" article a couple of years ago was.
  24. No (...) Edge and Christian's show does have its moments however. The cold open to this weeks episode was amusing. I thought this was one of the weaker shows they did. Though we got "skullfuck" and even an unbleeped "sheepshagger" on WWE "television".
  25. Somehow I like the cheap burn in the topic title on last night's ratings "New Era Raw ratings back down to really old era levels".
