This didn't have the spectacle aspect of the pool match and didn't have the build to the spots of the high end FMW stuff. Real disappointing overall.

[1994-11-30-AAA] Rey Misterio Jr vs Juventud Guerrera
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Really felt like a coming of age match for both competitors as they had the athletic ability to make everything look great here but also had enough skill to make the match solid and not devolve into a straight spotfest or showcase. Finish is a little annoying but this is one of the best matches of the year and feels like you are seeing the future of the genre.- 6 replies

Better than their first two matches but not as good as the brawl around the arena. Good action but a little by the numbers for the intensity of the feud.

[1994-11-26-WCW-Saturday Night] Steve Austin vs Jim Duggan
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
It just feels so wrong for Duggan to be champion and a lot of energy is deflated from WCW as a result. The action and set up here was fine but there is no way to get invested due to who the babyfaces are.- 6 replies

[1994-11-26-SMW-TV] The Gangstas vs Brian Lee & Lance Storm
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Decent tv stuff and pretty good Cacuts/ Candido stuff. Cant really get into Storm in SMW and the Gangsters matches have been more miss than hit so far.- 7 replies

Tough for me to argue against Budokan. It has hosted what I think are the top 3 matches of all time and has been the attraction for a slew of others. You could argue that it has lost a good bit of its luster in recent years with 3,000 people crowds and what not, but it can still arise to the moment and make a title change or match feel special like Morishima/Misawa in 08. #2 would be MSG #3 would be Skydome as a rare venue that always looks great in scope and has featured a hot as hell crowd both times Wrestlemania has been there. Sentimental favorites would include: Omni: Really wish I would have been a little older and could have caught most of the 85-90 shows as when I was old enough to start watching shows there (91-92), the arena in relevance was already on the downswing Georgia Dome: Some hot Nitro crowds and a good crowd for Wrestlemania. ( The Goldberg title win and Undertaker kicking out of the tombstone are still my #1 and #2 moments of live wrestling in my lifetime)

Liked the struggle of this match but couldn't get into fully due to the lack of action. Ending makes Allbright look strong.

[1994-11-29-WAR] Genichiro Tenryu vs Tatsumi Kitahara
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Great stiff wrestling. Loved the flurries by Kitahara being thwarted by Tenryu. Probably Tenryu's best showing since the Onita match. -
Thanks Grimmas for the kind words

Cant believe we talked for two hours on this piece of shit show but maybe Parv's early morning start and my less than sober state helped propel the show.

Kind of the same way, but coming home drunk and turning on some wrestling while going to sleep is a pretty regular occurrence for me considering the wife just crashes right away when we get home.

IWA-MS or some good Memphis fits the bill for me.

Enjoyed Cornette trying to convince Gangsters and Gangsters sticking up for themselves Cactus promo was fine but I am not all that into the Boo angle yet.

Would only put this ahead of the 1995 Final Tag League match which shows how great the feud is. This was a great match and felt like a good showcase match for Taue which has been a rarity in 1994. He was dominating the attack on Kobashi and took the punishment for his team. Also to see how much more Kawada is protected now that he is triple crown champ.

[1994-11-23-WWF-Survivor Series] The Undertaker vs Yokozuna (Casket)
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Decent ending to the feud and Norris has a pretty good special enforcer role. -
Every time I watch this match and look at the time, I worry it wont hold up. It always does though and I love the action and the acting and finish is wrestling at its storyline best.

[1994-11-20-AJW-Big Egg Universe] Aja Kong vs Dynamite Kansai
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
I thought this was great and again in a tournament format they didn't have the emotional impact of some other matches but the action was great. Kong spinning backfist looked brutal and I have become a big fan of Kansai in 1994.- 10 replies

Agree that this was too long and their stock match. Still fun but the comedy has been done better elsewhere and better wrestling was also mixed in.

[1994-11-20-AJW-Big Egg Universe] Dynamite Kansai vs Kyoko Inoue
soup23 replied to Loss's topic in November 1994
Kyoko vs. more powerful opponents works so much better for me than here mano a mano like the singles match vs. Toyota. The stretching and mat work here was relatively pointless but featured tight submission work. The nearfall section was worked really well and never felt like Your turn my turn. Sneaky top 100 match contender for me on the year.- 9 replies
