  1. This. Schiavone is making the comebacks of all comebacks, really. I love it so much. And really, I love everything so much. Getting close to @Jimmy Redman mode, especially with this succession of events : _so wait, AEW has a French girl who's actually from Lisbon (which I love for different reasons) ? And she's GOOD too, showed a lot of character and charisma and seems quite solid in the ring and had one of the better the best women's match in AEW thus far with Shida, who's awesome. And she's full time ? Ok, I'm not a sport fan and I don't pull for the home team, but as far as pro-wrestling goes, different story. This is my girl ! NIQUE TOUT SHANNA !!! (got a kick at of Excalibur trying his best to pronounce her name the most French way possible as he does with Le champion. JR is not there at all BTW) _then, Brandi is apparently a bruja now and she's summoning Kong to murder some bitches ? This is straight out of Salina a few weeks ago on MLW which was straight out of LU. AEW just wants to please me now. _then, the fucking heat angle with the Rock'n'Roll Express, and Ricky Morton is still terrific at 65 years old. This guy, they should have a relationship with his school for sure. (also, that short-circuit their first appearance on NWA quite a bit, having an entire AEW arena chanting "Rock'n'roll" and making them more relevant than they've been in... dunno, 30 years ?... right before an actual cosplay match. Somewhere, I think I heard Corny's head implode) And then of course the great contract signing with Hager & Dustin working a Limo angle like it's WCW 1991 (speaking of selling, Dustin's was classic here), a great six men match with more awesome cosplay costume (bang again, somewhere), an intriguing video package in pixelarts and Jack Evans looking godlike, another heat angle (damn, Ortiz & Santana are doing great already), and a really cool main event with a result I did not see coming, including a pinfall by counter small package like Bret Hart is agenting and Scorpio Sky looking godlike. Yeah. Total and utter mark for all this shit.

As I've always been a huge Cornette fan (as a performer, historian, character in general), I'm sad to say I have to agree. His ridiculous stances against anything AEW related has been embarrassing enough (I mean, from a business standpoint, it makes the NWA look terrible and bush league), but that kind of stuff won't fly if he wants to be kept in a position of visibility. I remember him not understanding the topic of depression *at all* years ago on his podcast, making light of it I believe when some famous musician commited suicide (Cornell maybe ? Or it was even before that). Cornette is the perfect announcer for the NWA and he's better then 99% of announcers anyway, but the kind of stuff won't fly. And in a general fashion, watching Corny "booking" himself into a corner like this with his ridiculous statements is really sad, as I'm willing to bet most of the guy he spits on actually do respect him as a performer a whole lot (Janella, Ryan and the kind are huge pro-wrestling fans, how could they not love Jim Cornette ?). As far as replacement, no idea. Corny is just the perfect guy for the role. Mike Tenay would work, but he's out of the game I believe (Damn, I'd love Tenay to show up in AEW just once).
  3. Survivor Series : Team Fox vs Team MBS. Winner takes Smackdown.
  4. Dignity ? Self-respect maybe ?
  5. I wonder what saudi women who came by themselves to the stadium thought about the women's match in term of how great progress it is for them. Wait, they could not come y themselves. Sorry. The american girls got paid to entertain and do PR for a guy who ordered the murder and beheading of a journalist and basically for a regime who legally kill homosexuals, among other things. They got to be so proud now, for sure, shedding tears and whatnot. Fuck all this tone death occidental sensitivity. Just wanted to throw that out there.
  6. Indeed. There's also jokes to make about the idea WWE booked a show in Saudi Arabia and excepted their talent to be all fresh & ready to work live on FOX the next day.
  7. Yeah, the Saudis should have known they were gonna get a bunch of shitty matches and terrible booking.
  8. Well, apparently some people (Sapp, Satin) are reporting a fuel issue. I wonder who got to left first.
  9. Hopefully no idiot bought alcholol or drug somewhere or something. Or had some sextapes left on his/her phone… You just never know, I knew people who basically were cleaning their phone before going to the region, just in case.
  10. Odd. It is current and updated every week. Are you sure you're on Itunes and not Apple Podcast or something ? Or you need to refresh the thing maybe.
  11. Agreed. Much like also he did not dismiss the whole Shane Douglas conversation about Flair in ECW, just doesn't remember it happening but can see how and in what context it could or may have happened.
  12. Great job by IMPACT for their first show on an actual TV station in a while. Callihan winning the title is poetic justice, as he's been the absolute MVP since I've been back watching the promotion. He's made everyone he worked with better and more interesting, and now he's gonna pass the title, eventually, to Tessa, the other MVP, at Slammiversary one year after their first match. Or at least that should be the plan, and it would be wonderful booking. Yeah, really loving what this little promotion with no hype and tons of bagage is doing. RVD as a slimy middle-aged veteran taking credit for the current generation while being massaged by his way younger and super slutty girlfriend is a great idea. So ECW in spirit. Another cool idea, using their Flashback of the Week segment to introduce the Su Yung character, and cutting to what's gonna be her new transformed, ALIVE, incarnation. I was always wondering what she looked like under the makeup. I'm looking forward to see where this is going. Austin vs Eddie was an very good brawl, and they have been doing a tremendous job building up Ace Austin as a character. The Ken Shamrock vs Joey Ryan segment was gold. If Shamrock was that good on promos in 1997... This should be tons of fun. Again, kinda cool that a guy like Shamrock gets it. Fallah Bah speaking while high was fun. Enjoying his series of matches with Elgin, whose presence has rightfully so been limited to what he does best : work matches, not angles. Hopefully Kiera did not fuck up her shoulder too bad, that looked really hurtful. Yeah, between IMPACT and AEW, honestly, I have more than enough to be perfectly happy and excited with my weekly pro-wrestling fix.
  13. Yes it is. Search for "Arn". Or you're gonna find it directed from Conrad's other podcasts.
  14. I understand it as if they took bumps into the barricades outside the ring.

    Wow
  16. After a few weeks, I can safely say this is Conrad's best podcast. Arn is just a pleasure to listen to, it never goes too long, it doesn't sound like any of his other podcast. Also, when Arn is confronted with something from the Observer that is obviously wrong, his answer : "Whoever told this to Meltzer was setting him up." Wow. Imagine that. How refreshing. Yeah, I was wrong, this podcast is great, and I'm glad I can finally hear of one my top favourite wrestler ever go into shoot interview mode without restrain. Another cool thing is when they insert one of those classic promos. Arn was so ridiculously great on the mic.
  17. You know if we follow the rule of the country, Lana gets stoned to death. This is HOPE, they tell you.
  18. These guys are being thrown an insane amount of money to do jackshit in a Blood Money show, while NXT guys are still waiting for they pity-fuck raise. I'm sure morale is at an all time apex right now.

He should have straight called him gay. Now, that's some heat for good ol' AJ boy...

I maintain the best gimmick for Balor was Facefuckme Finn. Great name too. And make him a gay porn actor (Val Venis, only better), because he's all about the LGBTQ+ community, after all he took a picture in Saudi and posted it on his Instagram once in the plane back home, he's a rebel. I wonder if he'll do something crazy today too to fight homophobia and transphobia after entertaining the Prince of Dark Ages.

    AEW Dark Megathread

Yep. But damn some of this one was really fun, and it's so cool (and bizarre) to see Emi Sakura get over in a US promotion in 2019. Also, Allie is everythingAEW needs for their white meat babyface. She is no dentist, but she's a solid veteran worker with charisma, she just knows how to handle herself, how to move, how to get herself over. So the opener was the match Corny blew his gasket about, because of a 2 sc comedy spot by Sonny Kiss ? If Corny could get his head out of his ass, he would have seen that this was actually a really good match (way better than any match on NWA Powerr thus far too, just in passing) with a super solid performance by Dustin Rhodes. Sonny looked better than he had before in AEW, I hope they keep that team going, because they could be a cool unit and a great way to teach Sonny. Also, Peter Avalon is actually quite a solid worker and promo, he always gets heat, old-school style, bashing the cities every week. Yeah, I said it, I enjoy what they have did with the Librarian gimmick. Leva doing a few comedy spots and taking bumps is mighty fine with me. That MJF interview was quite interesting too, he managed to keep his heelish edge while acting babyface and taking about an actual real issue. i enjoy this little weekly bit. Also, that garbage car crash was fun.

Pretty brutal yet accurate way of describing things.

I agree the different format is interesting, but after four weeks it already kind of a drag to me because I don't see any really exciting on the horizon as far as actual matches go, apart from maybe Kingston & Homicide vs R'n'R, hopefully. I like Cabana, Drake and James Storm quite enough, but Aldis, as much as he's excellent on the mic, doesn't exactly set my world on fire once the bell rings. Guys like Jocephus, those tag team champs, Dawsons, Anderson are a waste of my time. Aaron Stevens is gonna do comedy, that's ok, he's very good at it, but he doesn't exactly spark my interest. Plus I have to say, the classic NWA setup feels old already to me, but I've stated my case about the cosplay element before. I will keep watching until the PPV, like I've done with MLW (and it paid off since I enjoyed the last three weeks quite a bit and the PPV line-up is actually interesting), but I need way more than what they did this week.

    AEW Dark Megathread

Yeah, but how much time do you think Jerry Lawler devoted to actually teach anything to anyone during his stint in WWE ?
