I watched the Youtube clip. The script is rotten. The whole angle is awful, Lana is pictured as a slut, Rusev as a bitch (yeah, I wonder why...), Bobby Lashley as a guy who has a first and a last name. The delivery was awful too, but honestly, how do you even save something as poorly written as this ? I so wish Lana & Rusev would work elsewhere.

Been there, done that.

He said the same thing basically in the very first show, which honestly is why I went so hardcore with that notion, because it came off so ridiculous. It was always self-aware as far as the presentation goes. And those commercials. Only Corny isn't aware of it apparently.

They are not trying to mutilate each others. And what's the difference between this and the thousands blade jobs Dusty or Flair did in their careers ? Omega and Mox will most probably end up with much less ugly scars than these two when it's all said and done. And really, pro-wrestling destroys bodies anyway. Hogan dropping the leg drop a thousand times destroyed his hips. The bumps, even the most basics ones, are destroying these guys bodies in the long run. Pro-wrestling isn't healthy. Most guys end up broken down. Tanahashi, probably one of the most brillant storyteller in the history of pro-wrestling, is completely shot at 40 some years old. Bumping on fake glass once of twice is not doing much more damage, really. Pro-wrestling conveys violence. So, here goes the moral compass to begin with…

Now that's a cosplay show I want to watch ! With IMPACT going full fledge with the dick spot, using ref Cameron Adamson who has no legs and Tessa working with men, they really are carving up a different spot for themselves. Mack vs Moose & Fallah vs Elgin were really good I thought last week. I like how they are mixing up really solid matches with the silliest aspect of pro-wrestling (that Ace Austin angle was pure cheese, with Aleshia classic bad acting).

So you'll never watch the ultimate classic that is Headhunter A vs Headhunter B from IWA Japan, in Korakuen. Where the crowd is chanting B ! B ! B ! B ! B ! when A is cutting is own brother's forehead with glass, and believe me, that was actual glass, not the sugary stuff they probably used here (and again, good for them, the just need the visual effect). The 90's japanese sleaze was so awesome before everyone was bumping daily on a thousand lightbulbs...

Drake asked for his release from IMPACT because he did not want to work with Tessa and they let him go, so that's as much as they valued him (granted, they totally fucked up with Kross & Scarlett). I dunno, is there really that much interest for guys like James Storm, Aaron Stevens or Ken Anderson in 2019 ? Older TNA guys, WWE comedy guy…

His absence is definitely a loss for the board. (see what I did ?)

Does the NWA really have the money to throw around to get someone like Scurll, who's badly needed by ROH and whom AEW and WWE will probably go after ? Scurll would be right at home with the rest of the Elite, hopefully that's where he ends up. I really enjoy his work, but ROh really isn't on my radar at all.

Honestly, I've seen enough super violent hardcore matches to see what actual barbwire and glass does to a human flesh. I'm not sure at all the glass nor the spider web were real. This wasn't a BJW of GCW match were the guys were bleeding from everywhere, at all (and good for them, not a criticism at all). Doesn't mean it was pleasant, but to me the most brutal stuff was the bumps on the wood. I mean, that was cringeworthy. That and the shots with wire on the bat/broom, which were definitely not gimmicked.

I'm gonna ruin my brand new AEW fanboy reputation on this board already... As a show overall, I have enjoyed both Bound for Glory and the MLW PPV more than this. Despite this having (some) better matches. Enjoyed Young Bucks vs Ortiz & Santana a whole lot. Like I predicted, Young Bucks are gonna put everyone over. Excellent match. Ricky Morton doing a Canadian Destroyer at the tender age of 65 is cool as hell. Also enjoyed PAC vs Page a whole lot. I actually was thinking (and it's true) during that match I wouldn't mind a Best out of 7 matches between those two. Just terrific straight pro-wrestling with no bullshit. No idea where the dislike for either comes from. PAC is a great worker, Page is very good and coming around better. Then I thought Spears vs Janella was an ok match. Pretty much agree about everything said about Spears before. He's a solid worker. Kinda boring version of Saturn. Tully Blanchard is wasted with him now that the Cody feud is over. Did I just see Tully do the fucking assisted piledriver ? Hope Janela is gonna feud with Sabian over his former partner, he really made the match. The three-way was a disappointment of sorts, because of the stupid way these matches are worked. They tried to make the most sense out of the stupid "gotta tag out" rule, but it should really be 3 guys at the same time. Yeah, Kazarian is kinda scary doing some flips he can't really do great. Private Party looked spotty this time around. The diving sequence was awesome though. Lucha Brothers need to get near the top of the cards. Daniels cospl dressing up as Pentagon was kinda goofy and needless. Loved, LOVED Riho vs Emi Sakura. I mean, Emi Sakura from FMW ? In 2019 ? On a PPV ? And she rules too. Nice Kodo Fuyuki tribute (kudos to Excalibur for catching it). Yeah, loved everything about this match. Hopefully they don't do Riho vs Baker next, because Baker ain't ready and Riho is over. Gimme Riho vs Shanna NOW ! Cody vs Jericho was quite the title match. Jericho is awesome. Cody has developed into a very good main event guy. Interesting finish. One could argue the turn was too quick, but then again, it was obvious since the beginning and MJF could not keep on being a babyface, really, as he never was. The lights out match, well... I guess we should call that the Renee Young Special. Crazy and hilarious at points (the barbwire bats & broom, the crawling in glass), stupid and too slow at other points (mousetraps, heavy boring chain), way too fucking long too. The breaking down of the ring was a nice touch, maybe they'll do the LAX IMPACT match at some point, with the match happening entirely on the wood floor. Never boring despite the lenght, but nowhere close the best crazy-ass violent matches of Lucha Underground to me. Omega is awesome and isn't afraid of doing anything. Mox has quite an aura. So yeah. Some stuff I really loved, some stuff I felt underdelivered. Spears on PPV while Allin was sitting in the crowd was a bit of a WTF. Two big issues that are basically the same : Tony Schiavone was missed badly. JR SUCKED. Like, he was terrible. Not Mauro terrible because he was not ruining the matches, but Mauro at least knows who the fuck he's taking about. JR was Drunk Solie bad. Although at some point, his total miscomprehension and disbelief of what he was watching was actually funny in a Bob-Caudle-listening-to-New-Jack-promos-in-SMW way. But yeah, JR was just plain bad. So there, to me the lesser of the big AEW shows thus far, despite mostly very good to excellent stuff.

Ok, it's all fair and good. Yeah, I would say !

Hey, I didn't even call TKK a Corny cosplayer on that one (ya know, trying to make something personal and polarizing the argument, because that's how things are done now), when I could have, really. So there... Hell, I even agree with some of the points he makes (the kick out of the Black Arrow wasn't needed, especially when Trent did not actually kick out and the ref fucked up). I even said in my previous post I would rather watch that Aldis vs Storm match than some epic Mania WWE/Takeover match. But hey, let's try and trigger (yeah, sorry) the AEW fanboy lol. Kinda lame, really, but whatever...

Basically stopped producing DVD, are selling the stock. Oliver wrote a book. Now doing a podcast, which has not interested me very much. If he ever go back into producing content for KC is anyone's guess.
-
Hum... no. I don't give a flying fuck, really. But it would be nice if you didn't make everything so personal. Don't take your cues from Corny. You can love NWA Powerr and dislike the modern style all you want without referring to those whom you disagree with and go all "Awww, you people are gonna hate this soooo much." Really, no, I don't give a flying fuck. No really. I don't need validation from anyone as far as my tastes go. Hell, I've spend the last 5 years browsing through TNA 2002-2009, watching and loving Lucha Underground, which was watched and loved by at least a dozen people, and IMPACT has been my favourite promotion before AEW showed up, yeah, IMPACT, the promotion that drew less on Twitch than people opening boxes. I don't need anyone liking the same thing I like. I don't care about people disliking the stuff I like. You didn't enjoy PAC vs Trent from Dynamite ? Ok. Cool.

No word in itself in unacceptable. Only context and intent matters. That's why I always laugh/shake my head at every occurence of "the X-word". It's so infantile. And it totally ignores how language actually works, so it makes no difference whatsoever if you write/say "fuck" or "f-word" (which is even stupider when you say it). And yeah, it works for every X-word (I actually used another exemple, but then I figured "fuck" was the easiest way to go). Semiology says hello. That fear of words is absolutely ridiculous and yes, a way to infantilize people. The use of "triggered" in the title of the thread, using the same construction as alt-right dickhead making fun of feminists (for instance), could pass for kinda offensive to some I guess, if you take that construction literally. Still, it's pushing it to me...

Can Taz stay instead of JR ? Kind of a shoot Gorilla Monsoon. Yeah, Baker is basically a rookie at this point.
-
Young Bucks opening the PPV ? I bet on them doing a job, again, to establish P&P. They are gonna be the Jushin Liger of AEW...
-
What ? It was a decent little match. Bea Priestly is good. Baker is way green. I knew it. They look AWESOME.
-
Gonna watch the Dentist (did you know she was ?) and off to bed.
-
Fuck restraint. Seriously. I hope for two zillions dives, a hundred bumps on the apron, buckets of blood and weapons shots and garbage bumps galore in the lights out match. Gimme workrate on cocaine, an orgy of moves and all around insanity.
-
The real question is, did he use papercuts ?
-
I guess he wanted to say she was scary or something, but "They put her picture in prison to cure the sex-offenders" is just not something that works to get that across and even less something that you'd say in 2019 about any woman, for obvious reasons.

It was okay. I didn't see any great stories told at all. Tim Storm is some unknown old guy who held the useless NWA title, so the fuck did I care about his despair to win and whatnot. The psychology was basic but ok. The action was ok. I find Aldis to be pretty dull most of the time if there's not a whole dog & pony show built around him. Storm is a decent 50 years old guy working like it's 1991, but there are the Jericho's and LA Park's and Suzuki's of the world, so paint me unimpressed. Everything was quite ok. It wasn't bad at all, and I'd rather watch that than any WWE Mania (or sadly, Takeovers) Self-conscious epic indeed. Kamille took a great bump, which you gotta love, the spirit of Sensationnal Sherri lives on. Cornette is also out of his depth taking about women. That line about Thunder Rosa was baaaaad.
