WWE TV 08/12 - 08/18 Poop every other day to stop global warming
El-P replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Wow, a billionaire NFL owner who donated to the Republican candidate. I'm shocked, I tell you, my brain can't process the information, I'm baffled, really. And then CODY goes on and says that pro-wrestlings couldn't work if it was unionized. Like, wow, totally baffled by the fact a big-ass sport & entertainment corporation would not be some kind of leftist hive. My day is soooo ruined, wow, that's soooo shocking. I won't be able to watch All Out after THAT ONE, for sure... Well, still. There's a world of difference between being funded by some billionaire (and how do you become one anyway ?) who did donate to Trump's campaign (doesn't seem so happy about Trump now though) and getting most of your profit money from doing PR shows for a criminal regime who treats women like second class human beings, kills homosexuals because like Warrior used to say, well you know, and all that good shit. A matter of, let's say, degrees. Keep on trolling though. You totally suck at it (although I did respond this time because I had a few seconds to kill, plus I procrastinate on actual interesting and important thing to do), but apparently that's the only reason you even post on this board. (not gonna respond to anything you'd reply though, just as to save you the trouble... I only feed trolls once every blue moon) -

Talking about global warming (as a heel, mind you) is too political. Doing PR shows for the Saudis isn't. #WWEUniverse -
G1 truly is the absolute masterpiece of pro-wrestling. Just an awesome month. Minor quibles aside (Jeff Cobb not being up to expectations to me, and mostly the baffling booking of Bad Luck Fale), it's just on another level. Awesome last three days at Budokan, awesome final, what else can you say. That sustained heat in the big main events were something. The KENTA angle was great and the crowd was losing it for Shibata (damn, if he can work even one more match, that would be something special). Great tag match too with Suzuki, rested from not doing the G1, finally making a move and beating Okada, setting up some great title match on the way to the Dome. And something has to be said about the terrific work of Kevin Kelly (yeah, he got mixed up at some point, but I can get the exhaustion), Rocky Romero & Chris Charlton. For the first two, calling 19 shows of almost 3 hours over a months and telling the story of the G1 comes off as really special (and it must suck your energy away too). I love the fact there's a beginning and an end. Bow down to Master Gedo. Despite his flaws (nobody's perfect), he's just the best, because after losing Omega at the beginning of the year, things didn't look that hot for NJ. Now, however... Probably gonna take a break until All Out, because I've had my share of awesome pro-wrestling.

Ok, so now I understand the reference earlier to her being a good valet for Shawn Spears. Had no idea. How many couples are split between WWE and AEW ? Spears & Royce Mox & Young Who else if any ? -
I'm gonna play Devil's advocate here because it's a bit rich. We, and by we I mean WE, spend our time criticizing matches and workers, bitching about selling, execution, making fun of movez, making lists, making threads about a guy sucking, complaining about not hoping on the leg enough, wanting people to go the fuck away, shouting about shitty offense and not understanding psychology and whatnot and these guys don't even have the right to respond to some of those criticism because #kayfabein2019 and please keep yourself in character for OUR OWN entertainment ? Come on people.

Can we roll back the tape to when Sasha left because she was a "whiny unprofessional bitch" and all and how the "IIconics are a great team that make the tag title more important than workraty non-over Sasha & Bailey", now ? What does Sasha gets for "taking her ball and go home" ? A big-ass return, while no one even knows what Bailey is doing at the moment (I don't think anyone talked about her match at SS). As far as that IIconic title reign went, well... -
Corny shitstorm incoming. Orange Cassidy can be hilarious in small doses. The challenge is how to use him right. The Nyla Rose piece on Road to was terrific in that they did not hammer down the fact she's transgender. And Jake Roberts dealing the cards was a cool touch.

Come on, it's a great way to have epic matches to end a great feud between two rivals who had some personal emotional issue and.... ok, no rasslin during commercials. -
First show : nostalgia act. All you need to know is there.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
El-P replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
This podcast was dead the day Bruce got back on WWE's paycheck. Well, it had mostly jumped the shark before that point, but it was done then. Bischoff I have no idea, I just quit after a streak of awful shows where the rants had come back in strides. The JR one started off well, but I feel like there are already kinda cruising. Conrad has been wearing himself too thin with doing too much podcasts, talking about the same subjects multiple times. (and I forgot the Schiavone one was still going on, and I actually started by this one which was really cool before it turned into a complete unfunny joke) From now on I think I'm gonna give any of those a chance only if I hear some really good feedback here. -
They are saving their booking genius and star making power for the Fox debut. Get with the program a bit. Well, this thread was not nearly as fun as the Takeover one. You can feel the complete disinterest... BTW, Maria Kanellis wasn't on the show either ? I ask because from what I got from the weekly thread, she was the only thing really talked about week to week after the infamous Heyman reboot...

Peyton Royce is fucking awful at her job. She's a godawful worker. 'member the idiotic meltdown last year about the "offensive" comments by Meltz ? Yeah, I know, not really because it was stupid and irrelevant. Still, that will end up the peak of this girl's mark on the business, because really, I have no idea how she even got that far on the main roster. She can't work a lick. At least her partner, who also sucks, got some kind of goofy "charisma" to her. Alexa Bliss should be working against Becky, she's still an efficient little heel. Ok, that will be all for me. Enjoy the show (just kidding). Hopefully that thread will get some laughs out of me tomorrow.
-
I'm gonna try to catch the pre-show on Youtube if I'm not off to bed already. Just because I want to watch the hilarity that is gonna be the IIconics vs Cross & Bliss.
-
I'm gonna borrow that term sometime if you gently allow me so, because it's hilarious.
-
I'm baffled that they don't have Roman Reigns & Daniel Bryan on the second biggest show of the year. This company makes no sense whatsoever.
-
This. Favourite Meltz match of the G1 thus far is Tanahashi vs EVIL, which is about as understated as you can be as far as big moves go and is all about psychology and storytelling from Tana. The obsession about Meltz star ratings is annoying anyway, but "lol movez" coupled with "Meltz gives this a billion star" is even more annoying. And boring, quite frankly. But yeah, that match sounds unbearable. Isn't the whole overdramatic stuff that has marred Gargano's last two programs, from what I understand, coming straight from Micheals vision ? I mean, "Sorry, I love you" may be the starting point of this style of ridiculous, very badly acted kind of epic.
-
That thread was classic PWO. Hope you guys do the same thing tonight.
-
Wait, we're Sunday night already ?
-
Also, I feel your pain with Mauro, people. He's one reason I won't watch these Takeovers anymore.
-
Who came out to it ? "We're not the Mounties" played in 2019 is high on the WTF range.
-
As someone who doesn't follow NXT at all pretty much (last show I watch was before Mania with Gargano/Cole and Walter/Dunn), when has the tide turned on Gargano ? I mean, last year (what it last year ?) when the first Gargano vs Ciampa match happened, the hype about this guy was crazy, he was the best worker in the world, the best babyface since Ricky Steamboat, his match with Ciampa was the best WWE match ever and whatnot. Now it seems his stuff (matches and angles) turn people (on this board I mean) away.
-
Rarely a match wore a more adequate name. The Triple H wankery epic in all its splendor. Austin didn't manage to not make this boring and overblown.
-
Gargano vs Cole has excess for the sake of it written all over it. The last match of theirs I saw the the epitome of WWE self-conscious epic. I used to love the Takeover shows, but now I can't find myself the motivation to watch them. Especially being one day late on the G1 already. Candice Lerae vs Io Shirai is he one match I would be interested in though, I like both of them. The few I've seen from Mia Yim (granted, it's been a while) I wasn't impressed with.

I went through all the weekly TNA PPV a few years ago. It was 75% hot trash, if I'm being generous. Thus far, I don't see anything that even remotely ressembles what TNA did wrong in AEW. The only thing AEW got from TNA thus far are the cool tunnel entrances.
