Not when all the situations are interconnected. We're talking about WWE employees. Plus it's really not a matter of excusing anything, on the contrary. It's a matter of major hypocrisy from the #outrage crowd. Acting outraged at isolated offensive attitude/actions by WWE employee while still supporting the company shows a total disconnect with reality and total hypocrisy. Godawful, embarrassing analogy that has nothing to do with anything.

Basically if A is bad and B is godawful, you can't ask A to be fired by/from B for moral reasons, especially if in the end it's because it makes you feel better about watching B's product without bad element A in it, despite B being much worse than A in the grand scheme of things. (not singling out anyone on the board BTW, just making a point about yet another fake outrage "putaclic", as we say in French, article)

One individual saying stupid shit on a message board 10 years ago (for lack of other evidence presented of him saying racist shit in 2018 thus far) = Public traded corporation signing multimillion dollars contract to do propaganda work for a criminal regime (in 2018). Ok. No difference level of bad game...

Callahan vs Lawlor was everything the Havoc match wasn't. Really good garbage brawl. Callahan is pretty damn consistent in those, and Filthy Tom really impressed me in this context. One of the best Fusion match, easily. It's odd, I always enjoyed the pairing of Vampiro & Striker in LU (and even during drunken Triplemanias), but on Fusion, Striker often comes off quite annoying to me and he detracts from Schiavone's work. I mean, the idea that Low-ki shaved head is like "pins & needles" when he shoves his head against his opponent's chest, for fuck's sake.

This. It's ridiculous. But people love pointing fingers, it's a way to feel better about themselves. Really now, I don't care one way or another, but a bunch of posts on an internet board 10 years ago ? How does that even compare to the WWE doing actual propaganda for the criminal Saudi regime ? But we should expect those morally immaculate WWE executives to take actions against this guy, so people can comfortably mark out to NXT on the Network, as they give 9,99$ every month to that great company who does propaganda for the Saudi regime (and financed Trump's campaign, and uses the name of a relentless homophobe to to PR charity work every year etc etc etc ....). Major disconnect.

Can we dig up the stuff AJ said about homosexuals too then ?

Twitter pro-wrestling is the worst. Wait. Twitter is the worst.

Thank you for providing the details of the story. It's just awful.

In other news, Salina de la Renta is petitioning to remove the licence of a PR wrestler who basically threw a cinderblock on a back on another guy's head. https://www.change.org/p/luchadores-retiro-de-licencia-de-luchador-a-hector-pérez-porro-conocido-como-angel-o-demonio?utm_content=okt_psf_wa_shlinks%3Ashlink&recruiter=885135958&utm_source=share_petition&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_abi.pacific_abi_select_all_contacts.select_all.pacific_email_copy_en_gb_4.v1.pacific_email_copy_en_us_5.v1.pacific_email_copy_en_us_3.control.pacific_post_sap_share_gmail_abi.control.lightning_2primary_share_options_more.control&utm_medium=whatsapp (the video is absolutely pretty upsetting, what the hell was that ?)

I'm becoming a Hart Foundation fan (I wonder how they can use the name though). Pillman Jr.'s got a whole lot of potential. Teddy Hart is insane. Seriously, doomsday device-style canadian destroyer ? I'm there. And of course, Harry is Harry, and he's got style too in this context (as opposed to just be a big gaijin bully in NJ, which he portrays really well too). I guess theis super smooth hip-hop instrumental theme doesn't hurt. Marko Stunt is a nice novelty I guess. It's gonna be fun watch him get killed seven ways to Sunday.

It was such a depressing time following the news around FMW back then. You're doing a terrific job with this project BTW.

Not really. That being said, I do enjoy browsing through the ppv threads, like I used to when I wasn't watching regularly to see what could appeal to me and cherry pick (plus at some point reading the threads was the best part of the PPV's anyway). I guess I posted this time purely out of habit. Of course you are. But that's ok. "None taken". But that makes two, wait, three unecessary posts by now, including that one. I could (since I don't have to pay for it anyway). But is it necessary ? Not really.

I didn't think so. For two guys who pack up more than 100 years, it was a perfectly fine match. I guess expectations are running wild these days. Since the craziness aspect is a part of every PCO match, that damn bump from the top rope to the apron was fucking insane. The never-ending promo/translation stuff at the end was kinda messy, although I liked the fact it looked organic. On the other hand, Havoc vs Callahan was a letdown, but I guess I just don't care one bit for Havoc. The whole staples and papercuts with lemon & salt is just for shits and giggles and it gets old very quick (especially the papercut nonsense). I expected a blood & guts match, I got some not funny indy comedy match... Considering the stuff Callahan has done in LU or iMPACT, this kinda sucked (but again, Havoc stuff usually does).

I guess the one match I would have loved is Charlotte vs Ronda. Oh well...

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard

Unless any strong feedback, not interested in this week's show either. Can't bear to listen to them waxing poetics about how "great storytelling" Survivor Series 98 was. It was the first event that put a real dent in my WWF fandom back then, where the booking of the big swerve was more important than the actual pro-wrestling (the entire card pretty much sucked as far as in-ring action went). -
What was the greatest raw of the attitude era?

And Owen Hart vs Brian Pillman (with Terri Runnels dressed as a whore), having a fake-ass match on purpose, just a few weeks (days ?) before Pillman's death. -
Exhibit #X of why 2018 has been the craziest and most exciting year in pro-wrestling in 20 years : just browse Youtube and you get to watch Pentagon Jr. vs L.A. Park having a terrific, terrific garbagey brawl, announced by Tony fucking Schiavone. I really liked Salina wearing LA Park's colors too, cool aesthetic detail, the kind of which I always loved in old-school wrestling (Jimmy Hart's outfit, Rick Rude's tights). Is LA Park really 53 ? Seems insane considering how well he bumps and execute his spots. Back to back winner matches involving the Lucha Brothers too, which I'm glad I get to see more of outside of LU.

Okada vs Omega 2/3 falls. Greatest match I've ever watched.
-
Game changer indeed...

Gotta say also I really like Ki's new style of "Hitman" (the video game, not Bret Hart) promos. Very different and refreshing.

Pretty fascinating indeed. Thanks for sharing.

At one point, the entire concept of "pro-wrestling royalty" should really been questioned. This struck me during the Shaul Guerrero segment at Ultima Lucha (which was very fun, don't get me wrong, but Striker talking about her being "pro-wrestling royalty" really made me think about the whole thing). There's this very bizarre notion in pro-wrestling that if your family has been in the business before, you automatically get respected (well, unless you're Erik Watts) because of some really twisted feeling of "wrestling dynasty". Who the fuck cares about who you parents or brothers/sisters are ? Nia Jaxx totally is a product of this mentality. She's a shitty worker with no presence and no promo ability, and she's been proven dangerous, yet she's been given more than most women who worked hard for 20 years (where's Cheerleader Melissa's sweet contract ?).

Well, I have been skipping the lastest ones and you all sure are making me save three hours of listening with this one. Yeah, I feel this has fallen into a tired formula, which was gonna happen eventually anyway, but listen back to an old episode now and the differences are striking. -
Those Byron Reed matches are exactly some of what I don't care about in MLW, way too indieriffic and cosplayish (as in "look at me do all those moves and pretend selling" way). I dunno, maybe he'll grow on me but he's kinda like generic flippy indy worker N°whatever at this point (unlike Koto, who's displayed much more than this to me). On the other hand, Fenix vs Low-Ki from E24 was the easily best match on Fusion thus far, truly excellent stuff. Ki pacing it and really getting heat on Fenix, who's a great babyface (as showed by his LU stuff where he was more charismatic than Puma) made it super solid structurally, with all the stiff offense and crazy shit you'd expect. Salina is definitely an excellent manager, she doesn't has to do much in term of spots at ringside, but she does it really well. It's striking how short all these guys are though, unless she's a really big girl, as she looks as tall as many of them despite wearing flat shoes. Anyway, this was pretty ace.
