aka "We don't give a fuck about the real world. Here comes the money." Hopefully this is gonna bite them in the ass hard eventually. Karma is a bitch.

From embarrassing to more embarrassing to even more embarrassing. Hogan is the gift that keeps on giving stupid shit.
-
Wait, they have a heel turn on a guy who's legit announcing he has fucking leukemia ? What year are we again ?
-
Wow, that's terrible for the guy. Hopefully he'll beat this awful disease and be healthy again soon.

Watch the Bellas do hard jobs at #Evolution... Hey, if that's true, good for them. Now, watch Micheals & Lesnar go insane. The following weeks are gonna be very interesting...
-
Yep. That was pretty much the deal I think. No ovary and no syrian on the show. On the other hand, they didn't mind having the Daivaris so they could work a heat segment against Iran... Didn't one of them receive death threats or something ?
-
It never, ever gets old. The best part is Sean Oliver's reaction though, he really didn't expect this.
-
Finally dove into S2 and : Hell yeah. Awesome episode. S2 has been even better than S1 thus far. And we're getting a S3 ! Kia Stevens was terrific in "her" episode too, hopefully she pops up in other good TV shows or movies.

WWE TV 10/15/18 - 10/21/18: Fear, Loathing, and PRACTICE!!
El-P replied to fakeplastictrees's topic in WWE
Considering their own sets of "ethics", it's totally not that. It's just them doing charity PR using the name of a god-awful human being who was famous in his post-wrestling years for his hate speeches. Undoing his life's work would have been to produce a DVD to shit on the guy and tell the story of how big a failure he was at his job. (apart from being the wife of a hate-filled steroid idiot, what the fuck did Dana "Warrior" (seriously) do to warrant any attention to begin with anyway ?) -
Yeah, that could totally happen considering the regime just dismembered and decapitated a journalist who was doing just that. In all seriousness, it's amazing no one employed by the company is saying anything. What is it ? The fucking mafia ? In any other entertainment company in the world, you'd have people coming up and opening their mouth, expressing *at the very least* their discomfort going there and working in front of these criminals. It really doesn't shed a positive light on any of them. It's like there's no possible life outside of WWE in their mind. Kinda pathetic, really.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
El-P replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
It's funny that the main theme of these fall of 98 PPV's shows is that despite the product being hot as hell, the product really wasn't very good at all. There are gonna sell the Survivor Series 98 as some kind of "great story", although to me it's the beginning of the end. Interesting btw that more often than not, Bruce refers as a match "telling a great story" when infact he's talking about the overall booking, not the inner workings of a match. -
Since I've been super angry about it, I guess I should address that one. I stopped watching WWE after the first Saudi Arabia show, not because I'm such an great social activist that I had to do something about it, ya know, but simply because it legit felt *wrong* to me. It's not like I have to pay for this stuff, it's on my TV. But still. I have watched a few women's matches dating back from the last PPV (or the one before ? Who knows these days, not too sure) as I intended to only watch the Evolution joke of a PPV, so it was putting myself back on track with what was happening. I did put on the Australian debacle the other day as a background sound because it was happening during the day. As of now, I'm completely done. The one *big* difference that stuff made with me was that last year, after the crazy Mania week-end, I was contemplating the idea of, what the hell, going to Mania in 19 or 20, just for the sake of it, do it one time and have fun even though I really don't care for the company. After the first Saudi show, that idea died immediately. And it's not coming back. Ever. So there's that. But yeah, honestly, I was pretty much done anyway, and watching the women PPV would have been the only exception really, because I have enjoyed the girls this last two/three years (hell, at points they were the only part of the show I really enjoyed). But now, it's just not worth the uneasy feeling. I feel these people are absolute pieces of shit now (the pic Bix choosed for his article was great, all the McMahons dancing around, basking in their unshameful glory). Not that I cared about them a whole lot before, but at some point, a line gets drawn. I'm not sure I said it before (I think I did.... I probably did.... yeah), but FUCK THESE PEOPLE. I have been reducing my pro-wrestling watch anyway, and the upcoming months will probably be very busy for me IRL. With LU season ending sooner than later, it leaves me with iMPACT and the big NJ shows (and maybe MLW on Youtube) to fill my pro-wrestling fix if I need it. That's more than enough.
-
Yeah. It's pretty sad. Plus the fact is it's not "entertainment" as in "just entertainment". There's a heavy political content there. Hell, it's mostly political. Because who the fuck cares about what happens on these shows as far as pro-wrestling goes ? I mean, from a "WWE UNIVERSE" point of view, if such a thing does or can exist in such a context, these are giant house shows. The main idea, why the shows have been bought, is promoting a "modern, progressive" image of and for the regime. "Just entertainment" would be bad enough, but it's clearly not it. (of course "just entertainment" doesn't exist anyway, but it's not the issue here)
-
Thanks for digging the exact quote. Yeah, I'm not sure how that definitely refers to the WWE event. Hopefully it doesn't... And yeah, what FMKK said about conservatives. They are much much closer than opposites, in many ways.
-
FUCK THESE MOTERFUCKING PEOPLE. (yeah, I'm all worked up. Problem anyone ?) Seriously, how dare they ? It's one thing to play pretend when you're talking about pro-rassslin' and shit. Ok let's pretend Stephy invented feminism and WWE is the very first company that produced any serious female pro-wrestling in the US, fuck that, in da World and these great japanese workers just took a quickie class in NXT before showing up that great at the MYC. But pretending the WWE doing a propaganda piece can "lead to change" as far as the politics of Saudi Arabia.... These people are gutless and/or brainless. Honestly, between the ridiculous outpoor of hate on Meltz two months ago because he made some inconsequential (yes, really, sorry) comment on someone's body and the way they now defend their boss for doing propaganda work for a criminal regime who just trapped, tortured, murdered, dismembered and apparently decapitated a journalist (yeah, it's worth repeating again and again what we are really dealing with here next time you'll hear about the Crown Jewels show, it's all about praising and working for the regime who did *this*) ... yeah... ...where's the *vomit* emoticon anyway ?....
-
Da fuck ? And I thought she looked kinda… creepy (in a good way)... Well, I guess the talk about improvement over time will have me not quit just yet (I only watched the first 10 episodes). Plus the later episodes are now available here on YT, which is quite cool and handy. (Jack Swagger in both LU and MLW is kinda rough though)
-
As far as this goes : Fuck each and everyone of them. There's no "separating the person from the performer" in this context. I hope they had a blast at Smackdown cheering this guy who puts "smiles on the faces" of a regime that just ordered the brutal murder and dismembering of a journalist. It's way past the point of embarrassing.
-
Covering the Snuka murder was really, really bad. But we're more in "extremely sleazy old-school carny shit". Selling yourself for an obscene amount of dollars to do propaganda pieces (because that's all these shows are) for a criminal regime is a whole other level of soulless capitalistic zero-ethic bullshit. I'm not sure anything compares, to be honest. (well, financing and actively being a part, true Linda, of the cabinet of Trump may be equally as bad in the grand scheme of things, really, considering the influence this piece of trash has in the current world)
-
Of course it is (easy to say that on a message board), and of course it's me being angry (because quite frankly, I've been a pro-wrestling fan for almost 30 years, 8 of which as a WWF fan, and it's a really awful feeling to imagine that you've had so much fun thanks to some truly disgusting, awful human beings). Still, at some point, you gotta ask yourself what the hell you're doing with your life.
-
And really... we can make all the bad jokes we want about it (and I sure made some awful ones already), but in the end, a political regime just lurred a journalist into their consulat, kidnapped him, tortured him (yeah, that's called "interrogation"), killed by ("by accident") and dismembered him. Just think about the atrocity of this act. And the WWE is gonna take the money and, most probably, run their *second* (this year, more coming) propaganda show for this regime. So, fuck them. (And really, fuck anyone who still supports them from this point on. And that includes each and everyone of the workers who, apparently, are all against doing the show. This is now or never people, get a set of balls, refuse to do it and unionize.)
-
This is gonna be the first ever PPV broadcast from Parts Unknown !!!
-
"You can't see those human rights abuse." Brillant. (watching those propaganda clips again should be enough for anyone to unsubscribe to the Network, really)
-
Wait until Lita shows up. That PPV match has the potential to be godawful, as Lita was always a terrible worker and Trish in her prime was decent at best. If the match is better than this, give crazy credits to Bliss and James (who was already solely responsible for making Trish look a hundred times better than she actually was at that Mania).
-
Well, a few episodes more, and there's way too much thing I don't care for here (some awful indieriffic work, the 80's revivalist stuff does zilch for me). The novelty of Schiavone calling indie matches are worn off (not that he isn't good). And too many guys that I can watch in a more fun context (LU or iMPACT).
