  1. Yep. This is a pretty much an awesome southern brawl. Hard to find much better in that genre.
  2. Man, you NEED to watch all Onita-era FMW then. Big time Onita fan myself, for basically the same reasons. That and the melodramatical selling. I love the irony of about 99,99% of idiots who thought Onita was all about doing crazy shit and bleeding like a pig so they do the same shit in indies for zilch money, while Onita's real deal was fucking selling. Sure, he was doing crazy shit, but not nearly as stupid as anything that has been done since, and he was making shitload of money doing it. Oh, anyway, I love Onita. Wild Thing by X + water bottles + crying = greatest pro-wrestling outros ever.
  3. Flair's entrance with Liz & Woman throwing Savage's money is amazingly obnoxious. Woman slapping Savage with his own money while he was being restrained is the icing on the cake. The dive over the rope to the floor is something to see. Not much of a match since the Giant since impervious to pain here (Hogan must really be special, or Flair is just a bitch), but all the ways Flair finds to cheat his ass off are really well executed. Fun post-match too when Sullivan grabs the chair from Arn just at the wrong time so the Giant thinks *he* was the one hitting him from behind. Arn's reaction is classic too, especially when he realizes the Giant will not spare him either. Good stuff.
  4. Luger is hilarious here, from the way he changes gears while on his way to the ring as soon as Sting watches him, to the way he loses his shit all over Bagwell, to his ridiculous post-match celebration. Remember how dull and boring he was a year earlier in the WWF ? He made a decent little TV match into the highlight of the week.
  5. Yep, much better than I remembered. Savage showed much more fire here than he did against most of the midcarders he faced since he debuted in WCW. And ironically, him giving "less" to Finlay made for a better match that looked more like a struggle.
  6. Way too long, but better than I remembered. They worked really hard, Sting especially, and Hawk had to carry the load for the entire match since Animal looked gassed pretty quick. I agree this is Booker T's breakthrough performance. The ending is really funny and well thought.
  7. Two things hurt this match : total lack of heat, because Finlay wasn't over and he hasn't been built as a babyface; it was very much your-turn/my-turn, and would have gone over big time in Japan with this kind of stiffness. So yeah, the brutality and ultra-crispness were great, but a great match it wasn't. Gotta love the announcers marking out. WCW was presenting so many fresh new styles at this point that the audience didn't always knew what to make of it. Perfect match for Korakuen Hall though.
  8. It's pretty scary that the idea of "fresh" in 2014 is to get a 45 year old back after a four years absence and push him to the top against a proven draw failure thas has been pushed since the mid-00's.
  9. Same here. And I don't use Word at all. Really frustrating.
  10. Thanks for the laugh.
  11. I already talked about this in lenght in the past and don't intend to do it again. They do bother me. But anyway, this is neither here nor there since as I said it Lawer is better than good to me.
  12. HOLY MOTHERFUCKING SHIT !!!!! YOU'LL GET BANNED FROM YOUR OWN BOARD !!!!!! Okay, maybe not. But you pointed a whole lot of stuff that bother me about Lawler. You forgot the no-sell comebacks. Though honestly I have Lawler at "very good/excellent", so he doesn't belong in this thread for me. Fuji at his peak was great (like Takada, you know), so no.
  13. That made him look even better.
  14. Thats' a good point. I don't think so. All of a sudden, Steph is sluting it up a notch on TV, Savage seems to be backballed and the rumours that he fucked her just appear from nowhere. Fantaisies.
  15. This bug really is annoying. At times I don't understand why it doesn't work.
  16. Brad Armstrong.
  17. The Steiners showing up unannounced on Nitro was yet another one of those "holy shit" moment, with more guys with actual star power showing up on TV. Against the Road Warrior to boot, the dream match of all dream match for US tag team wrestling. Nice bomb throwing power match. Disjointed, but it had to be expected. Steiners doing the job was a surprise too, but they were building up the Warriors for Uncensored, and the Steiners didn't lose any polish from that loss. Cool stuff.
  18. It would have been a nice touch if Pillman didn't leave WCW afterward. Or if it turned into an angle with ECW. As it is, it's nothing.
  19. FUCK YES ! Eye gouging stuff.
  20. Match was okay. Putting the TV belt on Luger was a waste, he didn't need it. They are teasing a Badd heel turn, as he gets agressive with the Doll. He's a goner. I wish he had stayed in WCW, if only to spare us Sable, TV celebrity.
  21. The two Cornette episode were pure gold. Shitload of great stories. The Phil Hickerson/Dennis Condrey/Tohjo Yamamoto double turn rib story was one of the funniest thing I ever heard.
  22. Nitro was pre-empted that week. Anyway, this match is so redondant at this point, we've seen this a million time, and it's exactly what Loss said, your usual Flair vs Sting stuff with the order of sequences mixed up, as always. Tells no story, it's just a bunch of stuff. The no-finish gimmick was a nice throwback to the days of old, but it also garanteed a shit finish, which of course it was in the end.
  23. At some point, nostalgia is getting toward senility. I mean, who *really* wants to see Hogan at WM (or on the Network) *again*. It was a nice nostalgia stint back in 2003 (which overstayed its welcome quite quickly though). Eleven years ago. Nostalgia only goes so far. At this point, bringing Hogan back is almost necrophilia.
  24. Here we go again. The debate PWO doesn't want to see again, just next to Flair vs Bret. But yeah, it was 13 years ago. Those people are gone, and they won't come back for Sting who didn't brought them back to TNA either.
  25. All of this... in 2014 ? Seriously ? This is sooooooo 2002.
