She has had that problem - let's call it a lack of assertiveness going back to her days on the indies. Her role was being soundly beaten by her opponents. The only time she went 50/50 with her opponent from what I've seen were in matches with her mother.

AJ Styles on Chris Jericho's podcast was real interesting listen. AJ has very much done the rounds interview wise but he seems to open up more to a fellow Wrestler about his disappointments about TNA as a business. Recommended. 20 minutes into the podcast the interview starts.

PWInsider WWE's letter noted that they are now offering, free of charge, financial and debt assistance serves through a financial firm for anyone who was ever under contract. The assistance would include help with financial management and for talents who are in debt, help with debt consolidation. WWE is also offering a $5,000 per semester scholarship to any former talents who wish to further their college education. The letter noted that talented needed to enroll by 8/1 to be eligible for the $5,000 available for them for the Fall 2014 semester and then provide proof of enrollment to WWE. The letters were sent out earlier this week and former talents are just starting to receive them. Obviously, this is a huge positive for anyone who chooses to take WWE up on the offers. Cesaro vs Sheamus at the Dublin live event I saw was phenomenal two weeks ago. Obviously Sheamus was the returning hero there and crowd will be different tonight but in the ring they really delivered the goods. Meltzer reported the idea that the main event would come down to Roman Reigns on his own versus all three Evolution members with Roman beating all three. All for that one.

Yeah it was first time came across as something that could draw actual money in the traditional sense. Raw and Smackdown have been inconsequential squashes.

I need to highlight how great this week's show with Paul Orndroff is. He beat throat cancer so he seems to have a given him a welcome sunnier disposition. The cancer has left him very hoarse sounding but has removed that dumb jock sound to his voice too. So it is like a different person talking.

Saw her, Sheamus and Devitt early on. Sheamus was horrendously boring and poor before he hit WWE. Thought Devitt was a really good but I thought he would just another talented guy in the NWA Ireland crew. But with Becky I thought WWE immediately. It was just as obvious as nose on your face. Yeah it has been a long road for her. After she got hurt with her head injury (that was less severe long term than what the internet though) she was super conflicted about Wrestling again for a host of reasons. At a time where sightings of her were like Elvis I twisted her arm to go to a show back in October 2008. She left with 3 matches left after not really enjoying herself. Had the impression that it was worse for her than a lot of other Wrestlers when they leave Wrestling as she had like this weight of her talent on her shoulders and an obligation to serve them. Rather than it just being a Wrestler that missed the adrenaline rush of being in the ring or playing Pro Wrestler.

I'll calm down in a minute but Becky Lynch made her debut at the NXT tapings tonight. Sasha and Summer Rae both broke character and visually marked out when Becky's music hit - Sasha is famed for never breaking character. Becky beat Summer Rae with an Exploder suplex - her signature move on the indies. So crazy about two years ago I thought Rebecca was utterly completely done with Wrestling leaving this legacy of this incredible young Wrestler who sadly retired.

Ok this sounds really silly but hear me out. The Performance Center has an on site psychologist - who from what I know helps talent deal with incoming trappings of fame and life on the road. The Divas are also under a lot of body pressure so that is dealt with as well. Anyway is having psychologist vetting talent really conductive to the process of developing new stars looking at it coldly/selfishly from the greedy promoter or demanding fan point of view? In the case of flagging another Benoit the answer is an obvious yes. But there has been less pathological cases who drew a lot of match and had great matches.

I am with W2BTD on this one. Also it is not just working style either. Of the trained from scratch people WWE is recruiting it is a rather different profile of person than before. Someone who doesn't know or care that much about Wrestling prior who have lots of Degrees, interests and side businesses outside of Wrestling. This may lead to a more dispassionate workforce. The greats have always you have to live and breath the business. Hard to argue that this approach to preferable to some of the poor souls who committed suicide after being released from your OVWs as the invested everything into Wrestling but still you/WWE lose something in that exchange too. The driving force behind those hires are Joey Mercury and William Regal. Regal in particular is effusive about the idea of the NXT talent learning off World travelled wrestlers as NXT talent won't be travelling the World themselves as part of a maturation period. Regal is trying to bring the Japanese or European learning excursion to the Performance Centre.

Rusev IS a Lana vehicle. That was honestly the intent since the beginning. WWE loved Lana's speaking and acting since day one.
