The Austin & Foley podcasts are particularly outstanding. Have really complicated feelings towards Foley. At one stage far and away my favourite Wrestler but that changed after Hardcore Diaries and surrounding/subsequent events but ultimately he has immense positives. This was one of his showings than made me feel guilty about having "animosity" towards him.

Brock has always sweated like a beast. Even in his early twenties. The colour he is concerns me but the rest of his body - legs mainly was still milky white.

Dear god... WWE office thinks he is. A lot and I mean a lot of old timers cite him as someone who is a great worker. The same old timers tend to be friends of or least admirers of Randy's father Bob Orton. Back to Meltzer if want to play the crony/bias game he is very close friends with Larry Matysik who again is very close to Bob Orton. Larry controversially to say the least listed Randy Orton as #50 in his 50 Greatest Professional Wrestlers of All Time book - excluding Rey Mysterio. Larry's defences of that were never really convincing. Larry has a lot of value and perspective but he is a huge homer for St. Louis. Someone who comes from the St. Louis Wrestling scene and that I trust as a SOURCE says Bob (and possibly Randy) is a Meltzer source. I've known this person since 2007 and has never lied or been wrong.

This is kind of a silly post. You are assuming AAA and WWE are ran the same way in terms of level of agent, referee instruction, strictness of time cues and that all WWE wrestlers all known basic Spanish.

Haven't listened yet but Bob was on Marc Maron's podcast last week and WCW was mentioned.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
rovert replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
The current state of play to recap: The very latest from PWInsider: Bully is/was due to be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. Was a road agent/booker/office personnel guy at TNA too. Top babyface on the TNA TV too with weeks and weeks of shows in the can - booked the show around himself potentially. When you think it can't get worse it does. -

I get a massive kick out of Sparx. I discovered her after friends were Tweeting about her hilarious Vine and Instagram videos featuring her dog Peanut and her family. In terms of Wrestling she real is a talent to track. Myself and others keep falling into a trap of thinking we have her talents pegged then she shows something extra and/or constantly. She doesn't just do power spots either but nutso dives too. For a muscle girl she still has a pretty face and curves too. If WWE or TNA don't pick her up evidently they are fucking up. Intergender Wrestling is a hard thing to discuss as it has too much scope for generalisations for something that has too many schools of thought operating. I understand the uncomfortableness and awkwardness criticisms but on a niche level AIW and Beyond Wrestling have shown that it can be done right and not something that hurts the perception of the male Wrestlers involved.

Hope it is just because he isn't on Summerslam.

Re: racism in WWE Wade Keller said that it goes to the top of the Company. Vince McMahon has a racially offensive name for his private jet and Ranjin Singh's nickname is Taiban.

While the thought occurs to me if anyone has a Kindle and an Online Observer subscription the Send to Kindle app is utterly amazing with one click it sends the Observer properly formatted to your Kindle. Works well with the Torch newsletter or any other website I can think of: http://www.amazon.com/gp/sendtokindle

Scary update on AAA's El Rey Show from Cubsfan's Lucha blog. Take the time to read it. It is worth it.

No he didn't it was in F4Weekly so it was Bryan and/or Bix.

Yup and grossly under delivered on the not afraid to burn bridges thing.

Washington Post picked up on the ADR firing story: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/early-lead/wp/2014/08/09/wwe-fires-superstar-alberto-del-rio-for-reportedly-slapping-employee-who-allegedly-told-a-racist-joke/

Yeah he is very sharp guy who at times gets the pretenious label thrown at him. He's a setup up on John Pollock or Ariel Helwini - who I both like to make a rough comparison. Jordan is my go to guy for audio UFC coverage on the bigger fight weekends. Skilled broadcaster and his context setting pre-ample to his podcast always gets me excited.

I think things like The Wrestling Channel and Powerslam created awareness but I think the biggest thing and why this era is different is that Wrestling promoters are tapping into the local drink and sports culture - soccer and darts.

Worth noting Alberto is both friends of Punk and Rey. Might be an ally if Punk or Rey's situation goes legal.

there's also a guy on reddit who frequents r/squaredcircle under the name MetsFan4Ever who claims to be a former employee of WWE who has done AMA's and revealed a lot of backstage info from when he worked there (left in like 2011 I think). Normally "some guy on an internet forum" is not a good source, but the mods there have verified his claims but at his request cannot reveal his identity. Anyway he has talked about Kevin Dunn being arguably more feared by talent than Vince because he's a weird, unreasonable guy who is quick to bury people that cross him. I know a lot of smarts frequent r/squaredCircle so that might have helped fuel the recent anti-Dunn sentiment in the IWC as well. By revealed infomation you mean took information from the Dave Lagana/Court Bauer type podcasts and repeated them to a less sophisticated/knowledge posters on that forum. He was the source of the "AJ Lee is pregnant" thing.

Softened/developed relationships with people who plugged that book the most but that book was as tone deaf and uneven of a book I have ever read.
