2CW Fan Cam - Rob Van Dam VS Sami Callihan From last Monday. A curiosity more than anything else given both are WWE bound. Both do their signature stuff and that's it really.
-
Yay. Also William Regal takes an interest in him like he does Danielson, Hero, Claudio etc. So you must accept Fergal in your heart, Dylan.

Likewise but he had a very dull 2012 as a babyface. A change was needed. Total "here we go again" subject for me. Personally I hate when people find out I like Wrestling and ask have seen Sheamus for a litany of reasons both before pre-WWE and WWE. Simply he is just really plastic and even on the Irish indies he modelled himself after what Americans wanted an Irish wrestler to be and not what an Irish person wants an Irish wrestler to be. He means a nth of what The British Bulldog meant to British people. I would much prefer Devitt in WWE just for that reason alone as he is more authentic. Although at times in WWE Sheamus can have some interesting matches in the interest of fairness. But on Devitt and WWE as I've said on DVDR he at moment has an amazing work life balance given his super push and ability to spend half his time in his hometown - which is a really nice seaside town that people work their way to or retire to. I was never told a figure but it has been emphasised to me he is loaded relatively speaking. New Japan pays all his accommodation and travel too. Devitt's attempt at learning Japanese was a massive failure as he so he is probably aloof to all the usual Wrestling politics - if there is any with him that is as he is essentially a son of the promotion being only gaijin they hung onto during their absolute worst times and coming up from the Dojo. So knowing what I've said WWE would have pay him enough to wretch him away from the paternal promotional of New Japan and make it worth his while to leave Ireland at the same time. I've been told Fergal doesn't like America all that much either. Also from my own experiences Fergal prefers to be anonymous in Ireland. Sheamus as an Irish indy Wrestler had a showbiz agent and that agent had him at every party in Dublin so he could get photographed by showbiz magazine. Devitt has never contacted his local paper for publicity. WWE would have to pay him a massive downside which I don't see happening. He isn't Mistico and the Irish American audience doesn't have the potential the Hispanic audience does for WWE. What does say an additional $100,000 a year mean when he now has to pay road and relocation expenses? Don't worry for me as I will get by authentic Irish jollies when Devitt's student and I guess ex-Wrestling prodigy given she is 26 now Rebecca Knox reports to NXT in the next week or so. Sorry to takeover your thread, Dylan

Gabe still reps for him hard and says Ki has been a total professional. Even DGUSA/EVOLVE's level of business Low Ki is probably a real difference maker and worth the headache.

Then you haven't being paying attention. Devitt has been solid gold since his heel turn. He has been getting the biggest of big pushes for a Junior Gaijin. He won the Best of Super Juniors in a clean sweep. He has become a heat machine in his current role. His interviews and Twitter are a riot. Calling out people from every major promotion in Japan and the US. I am Irish and know Fergal decently but moreso his friends and trainees so I have to check myself for personal bias but everyday I see evidence of his and New Japan's fanbase growing in the West at least at a greatly increased rate than before his heel turn. Devitt, Bryan and The Shield are the big wrestler/character stories of the year for me. With the three being real neck and neck. The only thing on this show that looks like it might appeal to me on any level is Ishii/Nak v. Suzuki/Benjamin and even that is hard to say because Benjamin is there. After watching this shit HoH show, no way in hell I have the stomach to sit through this entire thing right now Not the stiff majesty of Goto vs Shibata? Meltzer had it at ****3/4 and some people say it is their match of the year. Meltzer also seemed to have watched some matches off the show a second time just for recreation so to speak. He liked the show that much.

It is here if Dylan wants to debunk the 1st/2nd show of the year: http://www.dailymotion.com/playlist/x2pn0t...1#video=x11aq35

It is a bit more than that with him in fairness. I would be relatively fine if he was just stiffing dudes in the ring here and there. But it is not jobbing in situations where companies had been more than fair in how they booked him up to that point and thinking it is real are the more annoying things. Who knows about WWE but most certainly would be riding the New Japan gravy train still if he just played ball once.

A man with masses of talent and a super cool aesthetic but who was born with the worst business sense in modern Wrestling has seemingly burnt every bridge: Source: Wrestling Observer.

Meltzer said Shawn was talking about Daniel Bryan if it was already obvious: His main event of Raw didn't do that well a quarter hour: Credit: Wrestling Observer Newsletter I guess size matters as much as we don't like to hear that.

anarchistxx it is in Philly there's plenty of crowd favourites in the heels match and Randy Orton vs Daniel Bryan wasn' hurt on Monday by being babyface vs babyface either. Surprised at the amount of people who have seen an issue with the two MITB matches this year.
-
For whatever it is worth Christian/Uso vs The Shield got over hugely with the crowd. I think their appeal is based on exciting matches as much as being supposedly unstoppable.

Scott Bowden's Lawler interview is a great read. http://kentuckyfriedwrestling.com/theword2...d-jackie-fargo/

Gabe on Facebook: I heard from someone who only reports news once in a while but is really solid. He said that the Briscoes departure has to do with a delayed SBG Corporate reaction to Jay's homophobic tweets. He says he can't report it yet for whatever reason. The tweets came from the first week of May.

Member's section of PWInsider.com It is a real lessening of effect as Cornette has gotten a lot more hostile and negative reactions from those who listened to it compared to his "god damn Russo/Jim Herd" era interviews from fans to wrestlers to announcers. Don't see many people say "good old Corny" , ajtroma.
-
On a happier note Mark James and Jim Cornette are doing a Midnight Express scrapbook type book on the history of merchandising in Memphis Wrestling first available at Charlotte fanfest. Think Wrestling programs to Vinyl records to photographs. Jim Cornette estimates that in the 8 years he was doing photography both Lawler and Dundee sold 300,000 photos EACH at $2 a piece.

The TV tapings last Sunday were their last scheduled appearances and they have gone on hiatus for an undisclosed amount of time according to Mike Johnson. Bare in mind Jay Briscoe is still World champion. No one seems to know what is going on they may me heading to greener pastures. Also I know one of them has another child on the way but that can't really explain all this.
-
Triple whammy today: ROH has listened to your complaints and has DROPPED iPPV The Briscoes may be leaving. Haven't listened to this yet

Don't want to turn this into a massive discussion or anything but I am really taken aback by the volume of Chris Benoit "Remember The Wrestler" type sentiment on Twitter over the murder weekend anniversary. It is like the tide is turning and/or some people feel it is time enough after 6 years. Think what you want about the idea of remembering him but a lot of the sentiment is really tactless/careless.
-
For what is worth Chris DeJoseph said this weekend on the Torch that Shawn Michaels and William Regal had to fight to get him back. I'd love to hear a day by day breakdown too one day.

Watch the NJPW iPPV instead.

Pictures have a layer of humour given the oft repeated shoot interview claim that Howard has a massive collection of porn.
-
Meltzer said on his podcast with Foley he believes it airs the 30th. Foley for those who don't know was on the show before too.

Wish I could tell you anything but it is completely forgettable.
