Loss Posted December 20, 2010 Author Report Posted December 20, 2010 Terrific match. Interesting how much these guys sell for each other compared to other guys on the roster, as Kid totally dominates about 80% of this match and Shawn sells his ass off for him. I can't think of too many people that got that much offense in on Shawn around this time. But it shows how far being willing to sell for a heel can go in adding to a match. Worth watching.
Tim Evans Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 It was crazy how this match was basically booked around a concussion angle given what's happening these days. I liked Lawler's line about how concussions are really serious. Good match though. I didn't even think Kid was around after the baby bottle incident?
KB8 Posted December 15, 2011 Report Posted December 15, 2011 Man, Kid really blasted Shawn with a few of those kicks. I thought this was an awesome TV match. Bunch of really cool spots, nice build, nice finish...I remembered liking it a lot, and it definitely held up.
Kevin Ridge Posted July 27, 2013 Report Posted July 27, 2013 Even the Razor versus Kid match from In Your House had the Kid dominating much of the match. Kid could have been a strong heel for WWF at the time but would other guys have sold for him as much outside the Kliq. Bret must have not been able to hear Lawler during match or something as he seemed to be ignoring his comments. Match itself was really good though. As great as the Kid's kicks looked it was a weak looking super kick by Michaels to finish though.
PeteF3 Posted January 7, 2015 Report Posted January 7, 2015 Another Clique special, as these two work together well to put on a hot TV match, with Shawn putting Kid over pretty big even though Kid's just about gone from the company. Kid gets in some brutal-looking spin kicks, and the way he can come off as a dominant heel at his size continues to impress, 6 years after the Jerry Lynn series.
soup23 Posted February 9, 2015 Report Posted February 9, 2015 Here we go, a fun match that helped get me through this lull of stuff. Kid again allows HBK to be a great face and provides some great dick qualities while looking strong in defeat. This matches really needed to be more common on Raw by this point and HBK is on a roll heading into Mania in ring. ***
tim Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 Really good TV match. Kid is really effective working as a heel on top, which is a position his size obviously handicaps him against. The kicks look really good. Michaels' comeback is great with a really good looking moonsault and a flying forearm that actually looks like strong offense. Great ending with a Kid top rope legdrop missing by a hair to set up the SCM.
Calvin Posted November 23, 2023 Report Posted November 23, 2023 Fun television match. It's rare to see Shawn with the size or power advantage. He's able to impose himself physically on the comparatively diminutive Waltman, but soon finds himself in hot water when he underestimates Kid's heelish moxie. ***
dawho5 Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 Great match with the exception of Shawn's oversell out of the corner where he actually trips over Kid following a dropkick. Really great work by both, Shawn in showing vulnerability and Kid shows he can look like a complete badass. Odd structure with the only real shine being Shawn backdropping Kid over the top during his entrance. still worked though.
