GSR Posted July 18, 2011 Report Share Posted July 18, 2011 I thought Embry and Dave Brown were both tremendous in this segment, and sleazy sums Embry up to a tee. Kimberly was OK, although she did a far better job than any other of the USWA women of the time (Miss Texas, C.J., Miss Jennifer etc) could have. Brown's utter disdain and contempt for Embry after he had twice forced himself on Kim, and then refusing to let him talk when he had something to say was quality. Embry comes out and is such a fucking shitstain. I love it. Embry forces himself on Kimberly and takes her slaps and resistance as "she liked it!" DWG does a horrible promo, Embry comes out and harasses her. Embry's glee after pushing himself onto the DWG was weird, he almost seemed like a bit of a simpleton who really thought she liked him, instead of the sleazy dirtbag he's supposed to be. What was she supposed to be, a female Dusty Rhodes who spellbinds the crowd with her peerless gift of gab? She had a message and she delivered it like someone who's really not used to doing much talking (which she isn't), but she pulled it off perfectly well. Give her a break, for heaven's sake. I agree with Dave; two kisses from Embry to Kim was too much, and Kim never got to really slap the taste out of his mouth or even retaliate verbally (no, "Tony's gonna kill you!" doesn't count). One kiss and a resounding slap would have been sufficient, or maybe the jobber Embry was supposed to squash could have come to Kim's aid. I loved Dave showing a little backbone and refusing to let him rant. I'm not sure about the "She liked it!" routine. Yes, it made Embry look a little thick, but the alternatives (such as physical violence after Kim inevitably slapped him) were way worse. I notice what segment's next.
