Loss
Jim Ross! Fresh off of being fired from the WWF. SMW has received quite a few complaints from television stations and even the Knoxville NAACP. All of their interviews from here forward will have a disclaimer, and if they go over the line, they will be censored. New Jack calls the NAACP a bunch of "trained negros in a cage". They make clear that they're here to take on the Rock & Roll Express. They may have beaten all the top teams by wrestling, but they have never been in a fight like The Gangstas would put them through. He tells everyone to kiss his black ass and with that, he's out. Kevin Ridge
Ross found work pretty quickly after getting fired. Thought he was good on the mic in the Bret/1-2-3 Kid match. New Jack talks about people being silenced. Putting Martin Luther King and Arsenio Hall in the same category. New Jack is not a NAACP member. Exposer
JR is in SMW! And so is New Jack! He once again cuts a tremendous promo bashing the NAACP, SMW TV producers, and SMW fans. He finishes by telling everyone to kiss his black ass. Awesome.
soup23
Totally blanked on Ross being in SMW so that was a surprise. I am loving the Gangsters so far and it seems like such a fresh act.
El-P
Hey, haven't seen JR since he was fired from WCW. Nice addition to the company. New Jack's promo is awesome again. The lines about the NAACP are jaw dropping. Holy shit.
PeteF3
Jim Ross is here! Back, more or less, in his original element. He points out that the Gangstas' interviews will be accompanied by disclaimers separating their views from that of Smoky Mountain. New Jack rants in response about how "they" have silenced Martin Luther King, Medgar Evers, and now...Arsenio Hall! Truly that one was the last straw, though I guess Arsenio has ended up with the last laugh. Then he focuses in on the Gangstas' goal: the Rock 'n Roll Express, who've never been in a FIGHT. Another great, heated promo from New Jack full of audacious statements but also hyping up the wrestling issue at hand.
GSR
Jim Ross says that in recent weeks Smoky Mountain Wrestling have received a number of complaints from the TV stations that air the broadcasts, the fans and even from the Knoxville chapter of the NAACP, and as a result from now on all of their interviews will have a disclaimer. The television stations and Smoky Mountain are not going to be responsible for what they’re saying and if they go over the line they will be censored. New Jack says every time you get one of ‘them’ that want to be outspoken you silence them. You silenced Martin Luther King, you silenced Medgar Evers and you’re even trying to silence Arsenio Hall, but he’s going to be here until he feels like leaving. He doesn’t care about these hillbillies not liking him or putting a censor on what he says or does because he’s been censored all his life. He wants to send a message to the NAACP, a bunch of trained Negros in a cage who you tell to jump and they say ‘how high?’ You don’t tell New Jack how high to jump as he’ll tell you to drop dead. He’s going to do what he wants to do, he’s not selling out to anyone and if you don’t like him get your ass in the ring and he’ll beat you like he owns you. Jim Ross asks New Jack what their objective is in SMW, and he says that everywhere they’ve ever been they’ve beaten people until they are tired of beating them. Then one day someone said that they know someone who they haven’t beaten yet, the Rock & Roll Express. He has beaten brothers that have been in jail for murder, beaten brothers that have been in jail for molesting their own children and beaten brothers that have been in jail for stealing cars. The Rock & Roll Express may have beaten all these top teams in wrestling but they’ve never been in a fight, and until those rednecks get in the ring with him he doesn’t consider them top dogs. They’re going to have to survive the whipping that the Gangstas are going to give them and the SMW fans, television producers and NAACP sell outs can kiss his black ass. This feels so fresh and completely unlike anything else that’s gone before. I said it previously, but New Jack projects such an aura of danger and believability in these promos. Looking forward to hearing much, much more from him.
DR Ackermann
Wow. Only 2 years into his career and New Jack is this good on the mic??? Two promos down and New Jack is already the runaway winner for best at interviews in 1994.
cheapshot
New Jack was one of the best promos in Pro Wrestling during this period.
