Loss
Captain Lou and Bruno Sammartino plug a 900 line to play wrestling trivia. Win a Nintendo, a power glove and a collection of wrestling's greatest hits!
PeteF3
I wonder how much you had to drop on the hotline until you got to the "win an NES" part. More or less than the cost of the actual system?
Bix
This hotline, or at least the toll free 800 number backdoor to it, existed well into the mid '90s. You couldn't win anything from it, but...yeah.
soup23
Can imagine bruno answering questions against a kid with a Nintendo on the line.
Kevin Ridge
Power Glove! Nice gift there. Too bad Bruno didn’t complete the bodyslam of Albano. Hotline seemed sketchy.
Cox
What an awesome carny scam. Is that the voiceover guy for Crazy Eddie doing the voiceover here?
Laney
This is a nice bit of 90's nostalgia with the Power Glove being offered as a prize. I wonder what was on that "Wrestling's Greatest Hits" video.
JerryvonKramer
Hands up then, who actually had a power glove? I had R.O.B., but never the glove.
TravJ1979
I called this numerous times as a kid and it was a complete ripoff. One question I remember was "Shawn Michaels once went by which name" and the "correct" answer was Sean Royal. Ugh. My friend's grandpa won $1,000 on a scratch off around this time and he bought my friend a power glove. It sucked. The movie "the wizard" made it look cool. In reality, the AVGN pretty much summed up our experience with that piece of crap
garretta
I actually remember this commercial dimly. I wonder if Bruno and Lou had anything to do with it after filming the commercial; I can't imagine Bruno being too happy once he found out what a scam it was. Lou's sporting the Super Mario mustache here.
drew wardlaw
My friend's neighbor had a power glove and the thing didn't work, or we were too little and stupid to work it. I think it only worked with certain games maybe? We tried it with like Mario 2 or something and it didn't do anything. In The Wizard they used it with a racing game.
