jpchicago23 Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 Ok this is a little game that I thought of on another board a few years back that basically defines certain wrestlers best matches as well as opening up peoples eyes to other matches they might not have known about. The way it works is the first person would name a wrestler and what they think their best match is. Then people reply with what they think until there are 3 replies with the same match, on that third and deciding reply that person would then name a different wrestler and continue the chain. We could do 5 replies of the same match but that might take forever with such differing opinions. I'll start it off with Terry Funk and say his match against Flair at Clash 89. Now as soon as there are 3 replies with the same match, that last person throws another name out there
soup23 Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 Terry Funk vs. Ric Flair Great American Bash 1989
jpchicago23 Posted February 14, 2013 Author Report Posted February 14, 2013 Ok so if another person voted for GAB 89 that person has to think of another wrestler and name a match. On another board a lot of people got confused about the concept but i dont think we'll have that problem here
soup23 Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 I am sort of confused does it have to be the same match or just the same two opponents? I perfer the Bash match to the Clash one myself.
goc Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 I am sort of confused does it have to be the same match or just the same two opponents? I perfer the Bash match to the Clash one myself. It's supposed to be whatever you think is Terry Funk's best match. So if you think the Bash match w/Flair is his best match, that'd be your answer.

Correct. Its whatever your favorite is... it can be completely different from anyone elses its just that when there are 3 alike answers that third person changes the wrestler.
Jimmy Redman Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 Terry Funk vs Ric Flair, GAB 1989, and we have a winner. I shall throw up Stan Hansen, and Hansen vs Andre, NJ 23/9/81.
World's Worst Man Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 I'll second Hansen vs. Kobashi 7/29/93
jdw Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 Hansen vs. Kobashi 7/29/93. Looks like third in. Okay... Antonio Inoki, which should get some variance. And no cheating by claiming a long series of singles matches combined into being more than a singles match. 07/27/78 Antonio Inoki vs Bob Backlund
jpchicago23 Posted February 15, 2013 Author Report Posted February 15, 2013 The 96 Vader match. I think it was 96 right? With the sick suplex
jkc31 Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 I liked the 4/16/80 match against Backlund from Miami Beach
soup23 Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 Ill second the 7/27/78 one hour draw vs. Backlund
Yo-Yo's Roomie Posted February 15, 2013 Report Posted February 15, 2013 Inoki/Fujinami/Ueda/Hoshino/Kimura Vs Maeda/Takada/Fujiwara/Yamazaki/Kido (3/26/86)
World's Worst Man Posted February 16, 2013 Report Posted February 16, 2013 I will second that 10-man from 3/26/86
WingedEagle Posted February 20, 2013 Report Posted February 20, 2013 This needs to be revived. I have to go Inoki vs. Vader 1/4/96 as I haven't seen the 80s NJ set so I'm probably missing most of his best work.
jpchicago23 Posted February 20, 2013 Author Report Posted February 20, 2013 Yea that's the same reason I picked the vader match even though I have the NJ set, I just haven't gotten to it
Ditch Posted February 22, 2013 Report Posted February 22, 2013 I was wondering if Inoki would kill this. Which IMO shows how overrated he is; very few matches where Inoki is blow-away great.
