Lawler chants! This angle is set up so well and not telegraphed by the announcers at all. Hall leaves the ringside area to go troll Larry Zbyszko, and La Parka unmasks as DDP! Hall missed the whole thing. DDP got one in on them. Good angle, but did it really deserve an entire chapter in Positively Page?

This was really well executed and a great idea to begin with.

Ive never read Page's book but his La Parka impression was spot-on. No one saw this one coming.

Right during La Parka’s entrance they show video of him using chairs in previous matches to cut away from him going to ring. La Parka blocks the top rope elbow drop! Diamond Cutter! It was DDP along under the mask. Fun and execution was excellent. Good job by DDP.

Larry refuses to leave the announce booth so we have a 4 way booth. Hall as Savage's lackey is good stuff. We get some basic stuff and then Hall stalks off to the announce booth. Announcers do good not to telegraph anything. The execution on the reveal is fabulous. Great segment.

I always liked this angle. When was this done first? I know that the WWF did this a year earlier with Austin and Vega but I bet there were earlier occurences.

It's fairly rare with actual existing masked gimmicks. Stuff like Austin vs Caribbean Kid, Enforcers vs Screaming Eagles (Freebirds), etc is a lot more common.

Not a match, but the Assassin once attacked Dusty Rhodes during a gift exchange ceremony while wearing a silver mask and passing himself off as El Santo. This must have been 1980 or '81.

Classic angle. Hall trolling Larry Z. was priceless, it's amazing they were already teasing a feud between the two. (Heenan looked legit pissed when Tony told him to stand up for a while).

Still a terrific and out-of-nowhere angle, with all kinds of little touches like showing the montage of La Parka chairshots during his entrance, so we don't suspect anything funny from a lack of accurate La Parka strutting, and Hall leaving ringside as his long-running program with Zbyszko is heating up. DDP is back to being NWO-bulletproof, at least for a little while.
