jpchicago23
I wanted to make this favorite brawls ever but that can be pretty vague so i went the southern route. For me there's nothing I love more than seeing Terry Funk or Jerry Lawler go punch for punch with a motherfucker from the trailer park. I also love the southern stereotypical stuff like chains in the trunks and throwing powder in the eyes. Some of my favorite matches are the Funk/Lawler series, The Dustin Rhodes/Stud Stable stuff and the Lawler/Moondogs stuff. What are some other favorites or best of all time? Doesn't necessarily have to be contested I'm the south either example being Rich/Funk from ECW
jm29195
Apart from the Stud Stable stuff, does the Horsemen/Doom street fight from Starrcade 1990 count - always loved that one, particularly how much they got in to the time they had for the match. rainmakerrtv
The third Tupelo Concession Stand Brawl, Onita/Fuchi vs Gilbert/Morton, great ferocity and just pulling out all the stops.
Kostka
Buzz Sawyer vs Jim Duggan from 11/85 (I think) is the best wild brawl I've EVER seen.
KB8
Duggan/Sawyer is probably the gold standard for me, too.
jpchicago23
Doom/Horsemen definitely counts fucking love that much. I still have to watch the Duggan Sawyer match. I have the mid south set and haven't got that far into it.
goodhelmet
Buzz Sawyer vs Jim Duggan from 11/85 (I think) is the best wild brawl I've EVER seen. Duggan/Sawyer is probably the gold standard for me, too. Yep.
King Solomon
Short but sweet and took place in the North but in the vien of a southern brawl, Martel-Hansen Superclash
jpchicago23
Is there anything from WWE or TNA that could be considered a classic southern style brawl? One of the Storm/Roode matches maybe? I'm going back on a southern kick and may even do a southern project of sorts. I've seen a lot of the Texas,Mid South, and Memphis stuff but the rest of the 80s southern wrestling is a blind spot for me
Loss
Check out Eddy vs JBL from Judgment Day 2004. It's definitely a WWE main event, but it has that flavor.
jpchicago23
If that's the one where Eddie blades the gusher I've seen it and yea it definitely fits. HIAC 1 maybe? Especially with the finish
jpchicago23
Doesn't necessarily have to be a brawl for the project I'm thinking of either but a southern style match. I just mostly consider the southern style as brawling but i guess a match like Shawn/Jarrett could be considered southern
NintendoLogic
Would the Boot Camp Match qualify? I've heard Eddy/JBL described as Southern style, but I don't agree with that. Your mileage may vary.
goodhelmet
Not a brawl per se, but the Hardys vs. MNM match Rumble 2007 is as Southern tag as it gets.
jpchicago23
Im not sure, its a great brawl I'm just not sure if its southern. There's gotta be some good stuff from Alabama,Georgia, and Florida as well.

jpchicago23
I should've just titled it Southern style matches
peachchaos
Buzz Sawyer vs Jim Duggan from 11/85 (I think) is the best wild brawl I've EVER seen. Duggan/Sawyer is probably the gold standard for me, too. Yep. Watched this last night and it blew me away. Almost a predecessor to Lesnar-Cena, albeit with less UFC-inspiration and a much MUCH better ending.
jpchicago23
I never got that far on the Mid South set but i might have to check it out now

Badlittlekitten
Fabulous Ones vs. The Moondogs matches are my Memphis brawls of choice. I also love the 'dressing room brawl' with Jerry Lawler, Bill Dundee vs King Carl, Don Bass & Black Prince. I enjoyed it more than the concession stand fights because I could actually see what was happening and it didn't go on forever.
goodhelmet
All of those are awesome.
jpchicago23
I like the Funk/Gilbert stuff in ECW. The chain match is pretty southern

ohtani's jacket
Fabulous Ones vs. The Moondogs matches are my Memphis brawls of choice. This feud is so awesome. It may be my favourite stuff from Memphis.
