JerryvonKramer Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Seeing the broadway from the promoter's perspective, it actually must have saved a ton of cash.
El Boricua Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Oh fuck, well there goes my tag division plans. Rodz-Garea would have been the super team to rival all super teams.
RocketCrypt Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Man I was wanting to take the Grapplers as a team I was going to take them with the very next pick.
JerryvonKramer Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Would just like to point out that I've got a 36-pick gap again. That's back-to-back 36-pick gaps.
Beast Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Good pick Rocket, he was on my radar earlier as a backup that I didn't need to use. May have tried to get him down the line.
dedhemingway Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 They were Central States Tag chaps in late '82, figured they were more likely to go than some of my other tag choices. Â Hernandez/Robertson, that is.
goc Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 They were Central States Tag chaps in late '82, figured they were more likely to go than some of my other tag choices. I suspect that was a miscalculation haha but Hercules WAS probably getting ready to go and someone may have been thinking about doing "The Missing Link" transformation for Dewey so it's not really a bad time. Â Dewey Robertson is the future Missing Link if you didn't know.
Jesse Ewiak Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 I'm still not sure if I'm having a good draft or scrambling for anybody who'd be mildly useful in World Class. My one screw up was thinking I could wait on David Von Erich for a round or two later because of his impending doom.
goc Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 At least you have 3 weeks to write him out of Dallas. Imagine MY surprise at Bob Sweetan going in the 5th at least David was young and good looking instead of...well you all know Bob Sweetan.
Matt D Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Â The amount of thought, time and effort some of you guys are putting into this are making me feel justified in my decision not to play long. I'm coming into a rough 3-4 week work period and I know I would have wanted to go all out on this. You can be my booking assistant in a month when you have more free time. Â That is a kind offer. I sort of feel like Ken Mantell in this thing, so caveat emptor. Â that said, I'll be happy to look at how things are in July and chip in. In the meantime, I'm also more than happy to talk to anyone about what they're up to and listen to ideas.
goc Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Joe Blanchard would just like to warn everyone that Matt D's phone line is clearly bugged.
Cross Face Chicken Wing Posted June 15, 2015 Author Report Posted June 15, 2015 Matt D can serve as the Dave Meltzer of this project. Only Matt D appears to understand proper sentence structure and grammar.
Grimmas Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Matt D can serve as the Dave Meltzer of this project. Only Matt D appears to understand proper sentence structure and grammar. Matt D playing the role of Dave Meltzer is freaking amazing. I would love for Matt D to do weekly Wrestling Observer Newsletters!
Matt D Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 i didn't pick a territory because I didn't have time! How the hell am I going to make a fake newsletter about a fake wrestling scenario! Â That said, I was trying really hard to position myself as Terry Justice, just with Fidel Sierra instead of Eddie Gilbert, but either no one got the joke, or it just wasn't funny (probably the latter). Â Depending on what time I have, we'll see.
JerryvonKramer Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Already sensing anti-WWF bias in newsletter coverage.
goc Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 I just want Matt D getting future booking plans from everyone and then just kind of sticking them all in a blender and making really odd rumors when it comes time to write his dirt sheet.
JerryvonKramer Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Depends on how many more of my Puerto Rican jobber crew get taken.
goc Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 I just want Matt D getting future booking plans from everyone and then just kind of sticking them all in a blender and making really odd rumors when it comes time to write his dirt sheet. "Ivan Koloff and Wahoo McDaniel are getting ready to start a hot program being involved in a love triangle with Sunshine!"
Matt D Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 What former champion is going to be joining up with Jimmy Hart in the Central States area? And what will it mean for Kevin Sullivan?
goc Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Oh are you doing PWI headlines? That would be better anyway.
Grimmas Posted June 15, 2015 Report Posted June 15, 2015 Â I just want Matt D getting future booking plans from everyone and then just kind of sticking them all in a blender and making really odd rumors when it comes time to write his dirt sheet. "Ivan Koloff and Wahoo McDaniel are getting ready to start a hot program being involved in a love triangle with Sunshine!" Â Maybe I should draft Sunshine.
