goc Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 To me Bassarab is one of the most below the radar good picks in the draft. Yes he had just started, but by most accounts he is a guy who was a natural, and more importantly he is a good looking babyface that you can put just about anywhere on any card. I have to admit that most guys who never traveled south of Canada are out of my wheelhouse and are just guys who I know from rep or recommendations.
Grimmas Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 To me Bassarab is one of the most below the radar good picks in the draft. Yes he had just started, but by most accounts he is a guy who was a natural, and more importantly he is a good looking babyface that you can put just about anywhere on any card. Which is needed, because outside of Martel my babyface roster was not the most attractive. Unless you love Wahoo face scars?
JerryvonKramer Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Got to be kidding me, another 34-pick gap. How many is that now?
Flyin' Brian Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Gene and Arn never teamed together, kind of a shame I intend to rectify. Was it ever established who Arn's 'dad' was? I know he was Ole's 'nephew', and Ole and Gene and Lars were 'brothers', but not sure how the whole kayfabe family tree went together.
Matt D Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Incidentally, according to Kris, Arn is Ole's son in law. (non-kayfabe). The world needs more proof than what was provided though.
Flyin' Brian Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Now I read something that says Arn was a 'cousin'. This is more confusing than my family tree.
Dylan Waco Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 I have gotten remarkably lucky with the picks this round. Very few guys I had any interest in. I may be able to load up my roster with "wants" yet.
Flyin' Brian Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 And another that said Arn was originally Ole's brother. lol
goc Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 I don't think ANY of the people who claim to be part of the Anderson family are related. At least not by blood.
Flyin' Brian Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Oh, I know not by blood. Kayfabe all the way.
goc Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 The WWF and ICW are pleased to announce that they have agreed 50-50 co-ownership of the following workers: Arn Anderson Gene Anderson Lars Anderson Ole Anderson This marks the first time in wrestling history that all four members of the great Anderson family have been united in one (make that two) place(s). THIS intrigues me.
Boon Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Legit can't wait for the 4 Andersons Vs 4 Jobbers on WWF Challenge...
Matt D Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Their finisher is the quadruple limb wrencher.
KrisZ Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Arn went from Ole's nephew to cousin to brother to cousin to brother to cousin
El Boricua Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Arn went from Ole's nephew to cousin to brother to cousin to brother to cousin That's almost I'm my own grandpa level shenanigans there.
El Boricua Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Fantastic pick by that pencil neck geek RocketCrypt.
Flyin' Brian Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Their finisher is the quadruple limb wrencher. You know, the idea of them taking a guy and quartering him is pretty damn awesome
JerryvonKramer Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Finisher could be called "Hung, drawn and quartered". Imagine the Ole promo going into medieval history to get it over. Re: Blassie, when I took Heenan, I couldn't think of a way of using the three wise men that wouldn't make them feel second string. Those guys deserved better, so I didn't draft them.
Matt D Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 I still think Blassie was part of the key to moving into California for some people. (But just part of it)
JerryvonKramer Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 If I could have prised Stevens and Patterson from Dylan, I might have taken Blassie. But I dunno, my LA cards are going to be small. Superstar Graham will have to carry that load I guess.
goc Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 I will say that the more I try and plan how best to use Duggan after like the initial 3 months, I admire how Bill Watts was able to keep him at the top of the cards and drawing money for nearly 3 years. I love Duggan but he's not the easiest babyface to book around.
Matt D Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 The mid-south crowd was perfectly suited for him in a lot of ways.
goc Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 He still seems a good fit for a small Texas promotion. But yea it really was the perfect situation.
Dylan Waco Posted June 18, 2015 Report Posted June 18, 2015 Looks like the draft is going to stall out just a bit today as I am leaving the house in 20 minutes and I'm not sure what kind of availability I will have until about 8EST
