JerryvonKramer
Also Toru Tanaka is a phenomenal pick at this point. Not sure how I missed him, figured he'd alread retired and moved to Hollywood to be an actor.
KrisZ
On the big stage he was retired....he was mainly working California indies.
goc
Someone told me to take Tanaka as a Saito partner. Too old for Texas brawling though.
goc
Anybody up for some more youtube scouring for diamonds in the rough? I'm trying to scout non-Vancouver Canadian guys right now. Â As far as my booking style all that stuff was a lie. I am just looking at wrestling tropes and trying to see how I can jam in every single one of them as quickly as possible. goc
I got Flyin Brian's pick via proxy last night but I still see him active as of 10 minutes ago so I will wait an hour or so just in case he changed his mind.
goc
I want to like Tapu & Tio. I loved their gimmick in 1986 Continental as the New Guinea Headhunters and thought they were booked really well for that stint. But they are just so..I don't know the word for it. Lackluster. They just don't feel intense enough to play wild Samoans although to be fair that was not what their gimmick was ever supposed to be when they were, legitimately, the first Samoan brothers tag team. Matt D
The Mild Samoans.
Flyin' Brian
So despite my best efforts to hype them up, although my Samoans might have been the first to use the name they are also probably the least known Samoans. And the Great Tio is my tv champion, but we'll be fixing that real quick.
Matt D
The ICW Public Access champion.
Flyin' Brian
They are the laid back Samoans lol the New Guinea headhunters are interesting and something in my back pocket for later if I repackage them. They never won a title in ICW but were champs in Southwest in 85.
goc
Yes, we talked about their run as The Maoris there and if I could scrub it from my memory I would do so. Tio & Tapu were the guys who were working as savage Maoris yet wrestling their squash match wearing wrestling boots while one of the white bread babyface opponents was wrestling bare foot. Flyin' Brian
The ICW Public Access champion. Can't wait until we do the co promotion with Wayne's World on Cable 10 Community Access Channel in Aurora
rainmakerrtv
Just want to say, I think the AWA currently has one of the most ethnically diverse rosters in North America right now. You can be black, white, Asian, Samoan, Arab, Polish, orange, Commie or Masked, there is a place for you in Minnesota!
goc
I saw Buddy Rose have a very competent match with Frank Dusek once. I strongly suspected it was all Buddy. He is a pretty good authority figure in late 80s WCCW though.
El Boricua
Frank Dusek was on my list of possibilities. From what I've seen he's a solid promo who can speak Spanish.
goc
He IS a good promo and I did not know about him speaking Spanish. That would have upped his value for me actually but I wouldn't have been able to get to him before Jesse.
goc
Tried to beat the drum on ol' Duke Myers to somebody last night. He is a good hand. Was very close to becoming Assassin #2 but Mike Davis had more upside after he loses the mask.
Matt D
I had tried to bribe goc into taking him with his second pick. You wouldn't think he of all people would have scruples
peachchaos
Yeah I probably would've gone for Duke Myers if I hadn't been pressured into making a fast pick by the same person who name dropped Myers...
goc
No you said Hito and never said you were gonna go with Myers don't blame me. A decision is made in an instant not over hours. If it was a conspiracy to trick you out of Myers why would I ever say his name in the first place.
goc
I will take proxy picks from anyone who is worried about their time expiring while they are sleeping tonight. Likely candidates to experience this: JVK (I have his pick) JHawk, Boon (I will be drafting for Boon the rest of the way), dawho5, and Cross Face Chicken Wing  Also, if you see Boon's name, Wahoos name or my name ahead of yours going into an overnight period: make a proxy or you'll wake up to being passed over as I am going to put picks in ASAP to keep the clock moving. goc
We need a new rule that once you go over the time limit so many times, say twice then you don't even get 5 hours any more. You can make a proxy list or you just make your picks when you show up.
goc
This is the current order after Jesse JerryvonKramer - Goes on the clock at 11:30 EST if Jesse's time expires. I will make his pick very close to that time. Dylan Waco - Dylan will most likely make his pick within 30 mins of that. JHawk: - JHawk will either be up to put his pick in or give me a proxy Boon: I have Boon's picks to put in as proxy for the rest of the draft. Boon is gone. dawho5: That means dawho most likely goes on the clock between 12AM-1AM Cross Face Chicken Wing: goc:
dawho5
I'll be waking up at 5 am for work, so I should be covered.
goc
That's good, still struggle to figure out why people would rather use up the majority of their clock time rather than use a proxy though.
