If anyone is interested in seeing something in the style I'm going to go for with my write-ups (although, without going so long on the matches, nor fully writing out the promos unless I really feel I can get the voice right), here is something from a few years ago, but in the same era as what we're doing.

I think new guys breaking in over the next few months should still start where they started, and then people can trade them out or release them if they have no need for them.

I will be around today if you need me to make a proxy pick for you. I am doing picks for Boon, dawho5, JHawk, Flyin' Brian & TravJ1979 (if they are not around) off of their lists and if you want me to do the same for you I can do so. Just give me a list with more than 2 names if you want me to finish out your draft OR tell me you want to be removed from the draft order once those 2 names are gone if that is all you have.

I am going to try and start writing today. I have a 6 month outline for the majority of my first 15 picks it's just gathering all that stuff together from all the different PMs it is in and then turning it into a totally different format of a story outline into a wrestling show.

Also, I can not wait until the draft is over so I can clean up my PM mailbox.

I would like everyone to confess just how much "scouting" they did for this. I will admit I watched a LOT of All Star Wrestling from Vancouver that I would have absolutely NEVER watched if it wasn't for this draft. Also watched a fair bit of Portland & some Grand Prix. Small town wrestling up north is very different from small town southern territories, which is what I'm far more familiar with.

I knew a LOT of the lesser names from the South on the list down to the Roy Lee Welchs and Charlie Cooks of the list. I knew almost nothing about the Portland & Canada regulars outside of "I kind of like Leo Burke & Ron Starr seems like a real bad ass"

I like to at least have some idea of a guy's skill level, potential & limitations if I'm going to use him as more than a total jobber.

After consulting with Wahoos Leg on where he could find video of the All Star scrubs on his starting roster, I now have enough picks from Wahoo that I will easily finish out his draft. Also totally finishing out Boon & TravJ1979's drafts. And putting in proxy picks for JHawk, dedhemingway, dawho5, Flyin' Brian & Grimmas. So if you want me to put in your proxy picks send them to me.

This post is half to get you to use me as a proxy so we can finish this draft, the other part is so I can keep track.

I read a ton of history on Stampede and watched a good amount from there and Portland. I really wish I had been prepared BEFORE the draft, because it seemed like every time I actually would discover someone worthwhile, they'd get picked up right away (usually by Dylan).

Although, noticing how many Stampede guys have been drafted kinda adds to the mystique of the territory, which has never been one of my favorites. Then again, I'm running a promotion with Bret Hart as my ace in 1983, mystique is about all I got...

If you are at the point where you are looking at the lists and don't know of anyone left that you want or even recognize, you might just be done drafting.

I tried and tried to figure out what to do with Tamba. I couldn't think of anything but "loveable jobber" (which is a stretch with those scars) who eventually gets killed by Abby whenever I want to do an Abby run.

Get me his non-union, Mexican equivalent.

The original Tamba the Flying Elephant match I saw of his in Mexico was from sometime in the 80s and looked like SUCH a fun gimmick. I think it's gone now though :(

I am really liking my job crew.

You can see a clear hierarchy.

SD Jones, George Steele, Mr. Fuji - lower midcard

Baron Scicluna, Dominic Denucci, Victor Riveria - JTTS

Steve King, Pete Doherty - pure jobber

I want more pure jobbers.
