goodhelmet
This is an in-game position who will do the following... NWA President's position is mainly that his vote decides ties on NWA votes and that he controls the booking of the world champion. That's what the real NWA President did. The nominees are Jim Crockett Jr. - JCP Paul Jones - Georgia (Not the manager and arch enemy of Boogie Woogie Man) Bob Geigel - Central States Votes will be seen by others so we can make sure only NWA members are voting. goodhelmet
I voted for Crockett. He was the youngest candidate and the NWA will need young minds leading the way if it is to survive in this exciting, futuristic driven world. goodhelmet
Remember when you vote who has national TV and who doesn't. I just don't trust your leadership group. It seems like they would sell you out in a New York minute.
goc
JHawk wanted NWA membership for WWA.
goodhelmet
OK, I added everyone who would have been a traditional member from the link Kris gave or who indicated they wanted to be a member (Parv, JHawk, dawho). If I messed up, let me know. If any candidate reaches 9 votes, that would be a majority. No need for a runoff election. If nobody reaches 9 votes, the people who selected the candidate with the least amount of votes would have to recast their vote for the top 2 candidates. Is the AWA and Southwest the only 2 non-NWA members???? .

Beast
Toronto abandoning long term partner JCP is improbable at this point and garbage. Agreed. Jim Crockett is confused and unhappy with Jack Tunney.
Grimmas
Toronto abandoning long term partner JCP is improbable at this point and garbage. Agreed. Jim Crockett is confused and unhappy with Jack Tunney. I feel Rick Martel has a better shot at being champion if the Ric Flair promoter is not in charge of the NWA. The JCP relationship is still strong as everybody will see soon.
Beast
We will see.... Jim Crockett may need to reevaluate some of his partnerships if this is how he gets treated in return. Mr. Tunney may not realize that without regular partners sticking together, neither may get what they want. Divided we fall.
JerryvonKramer
Here's what Paul Jones looks like by the way. He actually founded GCW in 1944. He hasn't cropped up in the Georgia stuff I've watched or in shoot interviews really. Jim Barnett is usually the guy who gets talked about, then Ole. goodhelmet
Man, that guy looks old... and out of touch... in the 1970s!!!

RocketCrypt
We know what Jim Crockett thinks about the future of the NWA title, what about the other two?
goodhelmet
We don't know anything about Bob Geigel and Paul Jones except that they are ancient. That is the only thing that has been brought forward. We are old and respected. That has been the entire argument so far.
Beast
And I just want to point out that despite Crockett's backing of Flair, he's never been closed to the other options.

The NWA's key goal is for credibility and legitimacy in the eyes of the fans, so respect and experience go a long way. Jim Crockett Jr. had never promoted a card before 1973 and was seen as standing in his daddy's shoes and had never set foot in the wrestling ring unlike Eddie Graham, Fritz or various other NWA guys, including Bob Giegel. Jones was one of the original architects of the NWA. In short, respect is everything.
goodhelmet
LowBlowPodcast
But if we are basing anything off reality - Paul Jones was never President while Geigel and Crockett both were. So is perceived "experience" more important that perceived "respect?" I think there is a clear dislike for the idea of Beast being president and holding Flair in MACW and not giving him up. I can promise you as the booker of JCP, Flair's schedule will be more than kosher with all those involved. If we simply communicate, I can promise that he will have his opportunities to fulfill dates and everyone will get there chance. Even in my pre-booking, I can say that Flair is more of an attraction than someone who is a week in and week out guy. He is like Andre in the WWF, someone you expect to be gone but when he's here, it is special. I know this gives away some booking plans, and I apologize to Beast, but I think that the irrational fear of containing Flair in one promotion will not be the case. goodhelmet
If Ric Flair doesn't get voted on as the NWA Champion, it doesn't matter if Flair is in MACW or not. Hell, we are only imagining the belt will change hands at Starrcade. Running Japan, I don't care who the champion is. I really would like people to make argumets why they should be President. So far, it feels like a vote on the PWO member, not the person running for President.
