Guys who made better action figures than wrestlers

That's a weird figure. Is it a custom? It's got his Viscera era blonde mohawk but his Big Daddy V gear. Seems like either a custom or Jakks (was it still Jakks?) got really lazy and just re-used the head off of the last Viscera figure.

Strangely it was packaged in a two-pack with JBL in a suit. I found it by accident trying to find a picture of his 2" Jakks Micro Aggression figure as that was the last set of WWE toys I actively purchased a couple dozen of (and Viscera and Tommy Dreamer had a blood feud in my league ^_^ ).

That's some serious ingergalactic championship action. And what I'm saying is the answer is lead heel of the jr. heavyweight division Wesley Crusher.

I do remember one TNG fan that I knew who didn't hate Wesley Crusher. The character was a great example of a heel babyface.

I had about a dozen WWF action figures back in the day. My parents didn't understand that if you're going to get Ax, you have to get the Smasher as well. I probably preferred the Bushwhackers in plastic at the time.

Anybody else prefer the Galoob WCW guys to the Hasbro's, at least for playability? The ring was pretty cool with the cage, a spring loaded turnbuckle and a catapult for jumping off the one corner. Plus the hammer for the ringbell made a nice weapon. And thankfully each wrestler came with a belt because WCW had a lot of titles in 1991! The Hasbro ring was pretty great too though. Never seen an LJN ring or Remco ring in person yet. Windham, Arn, Zenk and Pillman were my favorites for actually playing with.

I also used GI Joes a lot, but usually as just real wrestlers. My brother and I would take turns booking the WWF or NWA/WCW so we could have competing companies. I pretty much only booked PPVs and Clashes/SNMEs since I never thought to use job guys. Come to think of it without many enhancement guys it was like Monday Night Wars booking seven years early. "Outback" was Hogan, "Lifticket" was Piper, "Croc Master" was Warrior, etc and of course Sgt Slaughter was himself. Dibiase was the dress blues version of Gung Ho since it was closest to a suit. I remember the RnR Express being my world tag champs and Southern Boys being my US champs, I think I gave Michael Wallstreet and Terry Taylor a TV title feud. Wish I could remember more of it now. Might have made Arn the WCW champ splitting with Flair, as I loved using him to hit the spinebuster. Also putting on submissions was fun, sacrificed a lot of broken knees and crotches in the process..

I was in a store with my Dad once, and saw a bunch of non-wrestlers, like Mean Gene and Jimmy Hart, and freaked out when I saw Freddie Blassie. I begged for him, to go with my Sheik and Volkoff, but couldn't get him for some reason. A few days later, we went back to get it, but it was gone, and I never saw it again.

Bix's Ted Arcidi is a good pic, along with Ken Patera. I was always partial to Paul Orndorff since his positioning made it look like he was ready to give someone a pile driver.

For me the best Galoob figure was Butch Reed. His figure seemed thicker than the rest of them and his pose had a really good punching hand and was also good for clotheslines and powerslams.

Reed was good also, Simmons was the worst of the bunch, but I still didn't like that they had white tennis shoes and sweatpants instead of their real gear. Couldn't even hazard a guess as to why they chose to do that.
