BigBadMick
Great concept. Could you perhaps do a feature listing your Top 5 WCW matches from various years in WCW?

PeteF3
So, so glad to see this show crop up (or return)--especially because there's probably a *million* weird forgotten things in WCW that are far weirder and far more forgotten than WWF stuff like Battle Kat or Friar Ferguson. Just spitballing about the Underdog Challenge here--maybe Watts was trying to create "pushed jobbers" like the Sal Sincere/TL Hopper types brought in by the WWF in 1996? That is, give some guys a few wins just to add a bit more intrigue to squash matches, only in a far more Watts-ian way than the WWF did? Bigelow34
Thanks Pete! I am having a blast! That is a really good point on the tournament, that is certainly a possibility. Build up the jobbers with some wins and name value.
thebrainfollower
Great third episode JT and Allan. Not sure how I know this but Hasslehoff was indeed irate his show was featuring Hulk Hogan and wrestling and refused to do any scenes with them, hence the split storylines. Bigelow34
Thanks Brain! That is amazing ... Allan nailed it... the Hoff flexed his creative control!
thebrainfollower
If it were Downtown Abby I would understand it (though the NWO invading the abby would rule) but as you guys said it's Baywatch. It's not exactly high concept art itself.

thebrainfollower
Uncensored 96 was the first WCW PPV I ever bought (the other was Starrcade 96 then a friend of mine got a box, which we did as well around April 98). At the time my closest friend had gotten back into wrestling via Monday Nitro because his guys (Hogan, Savage, etc) were headlining again. We were both so baffled by this card that we decided to give WCW a shot. Coupled with a declining interest in the WWF we thought this might spark a new tradition. And with the exception of Regal-Finlay this is a pretty awful card from top to bottom. I don't recall Konnan vs. Eddie Guerrero, maybe I should give that another shot. But we taped it so I did watch this THING quite a few times afterwards for a laugh and would bust it out in college if someone wanted to watch a bad wrestling match. So it has some special memories for me.
JRH
The WCW Keith Hart IIRC is not the same one as the one from Stampede, he was just a regular jobber.
PeteF3
I thought that about Keith Hart as well, but as I listened to it I started to second-guess myself since the match they were describing seemed to be about the time Owen had his cup of coffee in WCW. I thought, "Well, it's possible he came in to work TVs as well..."
Bigelow34
That makes total sense... I kind of assumed that as I was saying it but like you mentioned, the timing was close enough that just maybe... Thanks for listening guys!

JRH
I was actually the one who sent in the "dream match" topic, thanks for using it! BTW, The PPV that was supposedly advertised with "we're the ppv company and even we dont know whats going to happen" was Fall Brawl 99, but i havent seen any evidence of that ad existing (i even tried google images, no dice).
