Severn weathered out a ferocious assault from Khan and came back with a series of suplexes before pinning him with a backdrop suplex

 

Dingo Warrior & Billy Jack Haynes vs. Rick Gantner & Curtis Hughes

 

A jarring battle of big heavyweights that ended when Billy Jack Haynes caught Gantner coming off the ropes with a power slam to get the win

 

Jeff Jarrett vs. Akira Maeda

 

Jarrett put in a valiant effort before Maeda forced him to tap out to a Guillotine Sleeper

 

Leo Burke vs. "The Cuban Assassin" Angel Acevedo

 

The popular Canadian veteran went to war with his hated rival from the Diamond Exchange. The match ended when Acevedo went for the DDT, but Burke blocked it by grabbing the ropes, then followed with a double leg takedown and cradle to pull out the victory.

 

Black Tiger & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers, Buzz Sawyer & Hack Sawyer

 

A hotly contested six man match that went to the Diamond Exchange when Flowers pinned Regal following a piledriver

 

Pacific Light Heavyweight Title Match : Brian Pillman © vs. Eddie Guerrero

 

In what the fans called the best match of the night, the popular champion from Cincinnati defended his title against the promising second generation star. These two had a long battle with plenty of aerial moves and near falls that ultimately went to Pillman when he pinned Eddie following a flying victory roll.

We are just a few weeks from the last big PCW show of the year, San Diego Battleground, and Pacific Coast Wrestling is set to close out an epic year with a bang. PCW management are now able to announce the main events for both nights.

 

Night One

2/3 Falls Pacific Light Heavyweight Match : Brian Pillman (c) vs. Owen Hart

Night Two

Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Nick Bockwinkel (c) vs. Curt Hennig

In the past year, the profile of the Light Heavyweight Title has risen dramatically, with many great matches that have generated a lot of excitement in the fans. This match pitting the champ against his best friend is bound to be another classic. And closing out the event is what is set to be the biggest match of the year for PCW. Curt Hennig has gotten pinfalls on Nick Bockwinkel in tag matches, and in spite of Bock's declaration that he would not get a rematch, Hennig earned one more shot at the title with his victory in the big battle royal. Will he be able to bring home the gold? We will see!

Two huge main events for San Diego! Can Owen take the Light Heavyweight Title from his best friend? Will they still be friends after the match ends? Does Hennig truly have Bockwinkel's number? So many questions & only one way to get the answers.

Backlund can't stands no more. It's all on the line for Young and Anvil. This has been a great storyline. 

Sawyers are having a pretty good run.

Damn good battle royal! Very well written. It was fun seeing all the rivalries go at it. Cool finish with some friction from Windham. The bottom line is we're going to get an absolute classic for the title between Bock and Hennig.

Props to Hito for doing his job so well. Very reliable soldier. 

I know Barr relished that win. 

Things are really heating up between St. Clair and Payne. 

Wild six man tag that has an even wilder finish. Is Red slowly losing it? 

Just like his brother Owen, Bret takes Bock to his limits. However, Bock regains composure to retain. With all these hard title defenses, I wonder how much this will take out of Bock by Battleground.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Portland Sports Arena, Portland , on ESPN / TSN, November 4^th

 

Leo Burke & Fit Finlay vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers & "The Cuban Assassin" Angel Acevedo

 

Leo Burke has been gunning for the Diamond Exchange ever since they injured his pupil Todd Morton a few weeks back. Trying to keep the members of Black Gold out of the line of fire, he turned to his good friend Fit Finlay to try to make the Exchange pay some dues. The result was a hard hitting match where neither side held back and it was all the ref could do to maintain some kind of order. The arrogant Flowers thought he would humiliate Burke by forcing him to submit to his own Sleeper Hold, but he failed to notice Finlay going to the top rope and coming off with an elbow smash to the back of his head. Burke then made the cover while Finlay held off Acevedo and got the one two three. The Diamond Exchange were seething at this defeat and swearing revenge as they left the ring.

 

Shane Douglas vs. Cactus Jack

 

Douglas may have been spared the match with the Diamond Exchange, but he might have felt like he had gone from the frying pan to the fire as he faced his former colleague in the Army, Cactus Jack. Although they may have been friends a long time in the past, that seemed to all have gone out the window as the two threw down in a vicious battle. Ultimately , Cactus proved to be too much to overcome as he caught Douglas coming off the ropes with a diving elbow smash to pull out the victory.

 

Interview : Don Coss stands in the ring

 

Coss : Ladies and gentlemen, my next guest is the Commissioner of Pacific Coast Wrestling … Dutch Savage.

The crowd cheered Savage as he made his entrance, but he was all business as he headed out to the ring. The normally genial Commissioner and much beloved retired veteran wrestler bore an expression of barely unchecked rage as he joined Coss.

 

Coss : Dutch … Commissioner … I understand you have some declarations to make.

 

Savage : (making an effort to keep control of his anger) That's right, Don. Like many in the PCW community, I am disgusted at the behaviour of some of the wrestlers at the show in Vancouver. First, the Playboy Club affected the results of the match between Buddy Rose and Fit Finlay. Then , the semi main event match between the Brigade and Camp Cornette, a match that many had been looking forward to, was ruined by interference from Sid Vicious, One Man Gang, and Texas Red. The whole show was turned into a complete mess because of their irresponsible actions. Well, I have had it up to here with their nonsense and I am taking action. I am laying down the law and I am not playing favorites. Effective immediately, the following wrestlers are all on probation : Buddy Rose, Fit Finlay, Teijo Khan, The Angel Of Death, Cannonball Grizzly, Pierre Carl Ouellet, Sid Vicious, Ron Simmons, Barry Windham, The One Man Gang, Texas Red, and Big Bubba Rogers. What that means is, between now and San Diego Battleground, they are under orders to steer clear of each other. If any of them interferes in any way in the match of the other, BOTH WRESTLERS are immediately fired! I don't care who is responsible, they are both gone. No appeal, no time off for good behaviour … they are out of here!

 

Coss : Wow, that is a stern punishment, Commissioner!

 

Savage : Oh, I am not stopping there. Much as it pains me to admit it, Mr. Bob Backlund has given me a good idea. As we all know, Pacific Coast Wrestling prides itself on accepting and developing new talent. We have scouted out some amazing young prospects that I am sure the fans will love. It is an exciting time in PCW. But to make way for the new, we need to move on some of the old. And it looks like our probationers have just volunteered to help out in that respect. I was mentioning San Diego Battleground earlier. This year's San Diego Battleground will have a special theme : The Last Chance Saloon. That is because it will be the last chance for several wrestlers to save their jobs. Bob Backlund has put two of his men, Gary Young and Jim Neidhart, in a match with each other where the loser will be forced to leave PCW. A good start, but PCW is not going to stop there. It's going to be a proper house cleaning, making way for the new talent and hopefully ridding me of several headaches in one night . To that end, the following matches have been signed : Teijo Khan and the Angel Of Death will face off with Cannonball Grizzly and Pierre Carl Ouellet in a match where the loser of the fall will be gone from PCW. Ron Simmons will face Sid Vicious in a Loser Leaves Town Match. Texas Red vs. Big Bubba Rogers … Loser Leaves Town Cage Match! One Man Gang vs. Barry Windham … Loser Leaves Town Street Fight! And as for my old nemesis, Buddy Rose …. Ohhhh, I have something special for you. Buddy Rose will square off with Fit Finlay in a Loser Leaves Town Match with a very special stipulation. If either Teijo Khan or the Angel Of Death make any appearance, either at ringside or in the ring, during the course of the match, the entire Playboy Club will be immediately fired from PCW. If your goons try to come to your rescue, Rose, you are all gone, and if Fit Finlay does what I know he can do to you, I might just have you out of my hair anyway. We'll clear the decks and I'm sure have an amazing show to close off 1987 with a bang. Then we will be back in 1988 for another great year in Pacific Coast Wrestling!

 

Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Gary Young

 

Gary Young has found himself an outcast in his own group as his ongoing friction with Jim Neidhart has led to Mr. Bob Backlund and the rest of the Knights Templar turning a cold shoulder to him. With a Loser Leaves Town match with Neidhart on the horizon, Young finds himself desperate to prove himself, and to that end, has pulled out all of the dirty tactics he could against Ouellet. The rough and tough French Canadian was far from amused at this, and fired back with shots whose impact could be heard in the back rows. This was less a wrestling match than a bar fight, but Ouellet tried to get a clean victory with a rollup. Young grabbed two fistfuls of tights to reverse it and pulled out a tainted victory. Young may have gotten the win, but he is certainly not impressing anyone, least of all the Knights Templar.

 

Barry Windham vs. Mr. Hito

 

Another wrestler looking to reestablish themselves is Barry Windham, although he has been sticking to the straight and narrow to do that. After losing the Pacific Heavyweight Title to Nick Bockwinkel, Barry has found himself mired in a lengthy feud with the One Man Gang. Now staring down the barrel of a Loser Leaves Town match with the big 747 and, should he survive that, is determined to get back on the path to great things. Hito gave him quite a fight, but Windham would not be denied. He leveled Hito with a Western Lariat, but then did something unexpected. For the first time, he applied the Claw hold, the same move made famous by his father, Blackjack Mulligan, and forced Hito to tap out. If he can make it past San Diego Battleground, it looks like the sky is the limit for young Windham.

 

Pacific Tag Team Title Match : The Bomb Squad (Chris Candido & Al Snow) © vs. The Southern Boys

 

While their victory over Black Gold for the Pacific Tag Team Titles took a lot of people by surprise, the Bomb Squad have proved to be fighting champions and have not ducked any challengers. Tonight, they would face the wild eyed Southern Boys who have been on a roll since returning to PCW. They had a closely matched battle where is looked like the Southern Boys might just take the titles. But when the ref was distracted trying to maintain order, the Midnight Express snuck into the ring and clobbered Steve Armstrong in the back of the head with Jim Cornette's tennis racquet . Candido gleefully swept in for the pinfall, but Snow looked annoyed as he watched Lane and Eaton dash out of the ring. Regardless, they came out of the match with the titles still in their possession.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Portland Memorial Coliseum , Portland , on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, November 5^th

 

Buddy Rose vs. Black Tiger

 

Buddy Rose came out severely disgruntled by the recent announcement of his Loser Leaves Town match with Fit Finlay, and seeming more than a little bit distracted. Not a good idea to not be giving one's full attention to the former Light Heavyweight champion, and Black Tiger proved to be a considerable opponent for the Playboy. The masked man was trying to get Rose up for the Black Tiger Bomb when a wildly swinging elbow smash from the Playboy caught him full in the face. Rose then followed up with the Inside Out Backbreaker to just barely pull out the win.

 

Texas Red vs. Cactus Jack

 

Once again, Paul Bearer was an unwanted presence at ringside, observing everything that Texas Red did. Red certainly didn't appreciate having anything drawing his attention away from the match, as the wild man from Truth Or Consequences proved to be plenty for him to try to contend with. Cactus threw everything he had at the big Texan, and nothing Red did seemed to be able to put him down for long. He finally was able to hit a Tombstone piledriver to finally get the three count on Cactus Jack. It looked like Bearer might follow Texas Red back from the ring, but Red gave him a disgusted look, and Bearer thought better of it and left by a separate route.

 

Billy Jack Haynes vs. The Angel Of Death

 

Two big, powerful men had a mighty battle that made the ring shake with every move. Angel tried to hit the Death Sentence (top rope flying clothesline) , but Billy Jack ducked it, then hit a lariat on Angel to get a hard fought win.

 

Dan Severn & Jeff Jarrett vs. Rick Gantner & Curtis Hughes

 

While Ronnie P. Gossett's men outweighed the Odd Couple, Severn and Jarrett brought a boatload of grit and determination to the match, and more than held their own against the young Bull and the Cat. Jarrett was even able to catch Gantner off guard with a top rope flying cross body press and score the pinfall. A bit of an upset that certainly upset Gantner, but his partner and his manager were able to get him calmed down after the match.

 

Golden State Tag Team Title Match : British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) © vs. The Midnight Express

 

These two teams have been rivals ever since the Midnights arrived in PCW, and Cornette's men gave a considerable challenge to the two young English gentlemen. The match ended up going right out the window when the Southern Boys, still smarting from yesterday's ambush, rushed out and attacked Lane and Eaton. The Midnight Express won the match by DQ but did not get the titles. This time, the attack led to Commissioner Dutch Savage getting on the ringside microphone and announcing that the two teams were forbidden from interacting until San Diego Battleground, and unless they wanted that match to be Loser Leaves Town, they had best leave the ring right away. Both teams, suitably chastened and not wanting to risk their PCW careers, immediately headed back to the locker room.

 

Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Nick Bockwinkel © vs. Brian Pillman

 

In the lead up to San Diego Battleground, Bockwinkel has not been making it easy on himself, taking on challenges from some of the finest young contenders in PCW. Tonight, he was facing no less a competitor than the Pacific Light Heavyweight champ Brian Pillman, and the Cincinnati native was certainly on fire tonight. The two had a gripping battle that thrilled the fans until Pillman attempted a natural bridge, only for it to be reversed into a roll up by Bockwinkel that decided the contest in favor of the veteran.

Super Strong Machine vs. Al Snow

 

The evening got off to a rip roaring start with a very hot match between one half of the Pacific Tag Team champs and the masked Japanese star. Snow has come seemingly out of nowhere to have several highly rated singles match, and kept this up with his match with Super Strong Machine, with plenty of near falls that ended when Snow tried to go for a Wheelbarrow Suplex, but was countered with a small package by Machine that gave the match to the masked man.

 

Leo Burke vs. "The Cuban Assassin" Angel Acevedo

 

The sheer hatred between Burke and Acevedo proved to be too much for the ring to contain, leading to both men being counted out while brawling at ringside.

 

Chavo Guerrero vs. Jim Neidhart

 

In spite of Chavo's best efforts, Neidhart overpowered him before forcing him to surrender to the Anvilizer (modified Cobra Clutch)

 

Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) vs. Buzz & Hack Sawyer

 

Two of the top tag teems in PCW had a down and dirty fight which went to Coast 2 Coast when Victory pinned Hack with a Victory-Plex

 

Tony St. Clair vs. Chris Candido

 

The other half of the tag champ had his own outstanding singles match, squaring off with the English veteran "Tough" Tony St. Clair. The former Light Heavyweight champ gave St. Clair quite a battle before getting caught flatfooted coming off the ropes with the spinning forearm smash that gave the win to "Tough" Tony

 

California & Submission Title Match : Bob Backlund © vs. Fit Finlay

 

Mr. Bob Backlund has had some intense wrestling matches as dual champ, but the Belfast Bruiser gave him an out and out fight . The two men went at it fist and fire with Backlund ultimately fighting out of an attempted Tombstone Piledriver and trap him in a Backlund Bridge to pull out the victory

 Important distinction : they are on probation, not suspension. The wrestlers are on probation so they will still be wrestling matches between now and San Diego, but one slip, and they are gone.

Also, Backlund didn't have back to back defenses. It was Bockwinkel one night, and Baclund the next.

Burke's having a bit of a career resurgence as him and Finlay hand the Diamond Exchange a rare loss.

Cactus is really proving himself. 

Dutch Savage has had enough! Will the wrestlers be able to control themselves until Battleground? 

It was tainted but that win might be enough to get Young's confidence back. 

Windham busts out the claw! 

Midnights ruin the tag title bout and didn't look like Snow appreciated that.

Rose fought hard for that win. Never underestimate the Playboy. 

I got a kick out of the Red/Cactus match. Bearer has sure taken a liking to Red. 

Haynes shows he can brawl with the best of them. 

Odd Couple get back on the winning track and Gantner was pissed about it.

Thanks to more chaos, Savage comes out with another stern warning. 

Bock is really going out with a bang. Interesting that both Owen and Pillman received recent Pacific title shots with Bock and will now wrestle each other at Battleground.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Oakland Alameda County Arena, Oakland, on ESPN / TSN, November 11^th

 

Super Strong Machine vs. Al Snow

 

Last week at a house show, Machine and Snow had a match that got a lot of positive buzz from the fans. PCW swiftly signed a rematch, and these two did not disappoint. They cranked it into an even higher gear, with more and faster big moves and a truly wicked pace. It seemed like the match would go to Snow when he went up top for a flying splash, but Machine rolled out of the way just in time, and followed up with the Devil Windmill Suplex to score the pinfall. After the match, Machine bowed to Snow in respect, and the two got a round of applause from the fans.

 

Hector Guerrero vs. Gary Young

 

Gary Young has sunk deeper and deeper into dirty tactics the harder he has tried to get his PCW career back on track. Case in point would be this match. Tellingly, none of the other Knights Templar were present for his match with Hector Guerrero. Frustrated at every turn by the fiery star's razzle dazzle and skill, Young broke out of an attempted Butterfly Suplex with a nasty low blow kick, then followed up with a DDT to score the tainted victory. Young may be getting more wins now, but he is certainly not gaining anyone's respect.

First of all, at San Diego Battleground, your two men, Teijo Khan and the Angel Of Death, will be facing Cannonball Grizzly and Pierre Carl Ouellet in a match where the loser of the match will be forced to leave PCW. Then later that same evening, you will have your own loser leaves town match with your nemesis, Fit Finlay. What's more, if Khan or the Angel interfere in any way in that match, you will all be kicked out of PCW. It seems like they really have you behind the eight ball and this could very well be the end of the Playboy Club!

Shane Douglas vs. "The Cuban Assassin" Angel Acevedo

 

As the Army has gone to war with the Diamond Exchange to avenge their fallen comrade Todd Morton, Angel Acevedo has proved an especially tough nut to crack. Hard as a coffin nail, the Cuban Assassin has been a ruthless opponent in any match they have had with the Exchange. Shane Douglas found this out the hard way, as he struggled to get any kind of footing in this match. Acevedo shut down an attempted Belly To Belly Suplex with a brutal elbow shot to the jaw, and followed up with a Piledriver to take the match. Not a good omen for the Army as they head for San Diego Battleground.

 

The Southern Boys vs. Joe & Dean Malenko

 

The tag team division of Pacific Coast Wrestling has always been hot, and it has gotten even hotter with the recent arrivals of the Southern Boys and the Malenko Brothers. These two teams were quite evenly match, and seemed to know each other's moves before they were even executed. They were still going at it when the bell rang to signal a 15 minute time limit draw. There can be no doubt that these two teams are headed for a rematch somewhere down the line.

 

Tony St. Clair vs. Teijo Khan

 

On the way to his showdown with Maxx Payne at San Diego Battleground, St. Clair finds himself across the ring from another big bruiser in the form of Teijo Khan. The hit man of the Playboy Club threw a lot of big bombs at St. Clair, but the English veteran proved why he is known as "Tough" Tony by surviving this assault and coming back with his own hard shots, finally putting down Khan with the Spinning Forearm Smash. An impressive win, but it remains to be seen if he can get the same results against Maxx Payne.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Cow Palace , San Francisco,  on Pacific Super Cards on ESPN / TSN, November 12^th

 

John Tatum vs. Chris Candido

 

Both Jack Victory and Al Snow were in their respective partners' corners for this singles match, but the ref announced before the opening bell that he had been given full authority by Commissioner Dutch Savage to impose full sanctions if there was even the slightest sign of them interfering, up to and including suspension without pay. Snow and Victory stayed quiet but attentive on the sidelines as Tatum and Candido went at it full bore, but when the ref was knocked down, Candido called on his partner to sneak in and attack Tatum. Snow, not wanting to risk being caught by the ref and suspended , refused, much to Candido's displeasure. Candido spent too long arguing with Snow, as he turned around and caught a Superkick from Tatum right to the face. The ref recovered in time to make the count for Tatum. Candido and Snow continued arguing as they left the ring.

 

Black Tiger vs. "Diamond" Timothy Flowers

 

Tiger gave Flowers a real fight, but in the end, the "Diamond" one's deadly Piledriver proved too much to overcome

 

Doug Furnas vs. Bobby Eaton

 

It was a battle of Speed vs. Power, with both men having the advantage at different points in the match. Furnas was eventually able to tip the balance decisively in his favour when he caught Eaton coming off the ropes, then hit a crushing front slam for the one two three.

 

Pierre Carl Ouellet vs. Cactus Jack

 

In what is becoming something of a trend for these two, both men were counted out while brawling in the aisle.

 

Curt Hennig vs. The Angel Of Death

 

Counting down the days to his big Pacific Heavyweight Title shot at San Diego Battleground, Hennig faced a considerable challenge in the big Angel Of Death. The big Playboy Club member hit a lot of hard shots on Hennig, but Hennig was able to duck under the Death Sentence (top rope flying clothesline), then follow up with a jumping neck snap on the prone Angel for the win.

 

Pacific Heavyweight Title Match : Nick Bockwinkel © vs. Jeff Jarrett

 

Hennig's San Diego Battleground opponent, Pacific Heavyweight champ Nick Bockwinkel, faced his own considerable challenger in young Jeff Jarrett. The second generation star thrilled the fans with a number of near falls that got the fans hoping there would be a new champion tonight. Alas , it was not to be, as Bockwinkel hit a belly to back suplex, then put his feet on the ropes for the bridge to successfully defend his title.

Pacific Coast Wrestling show from the Selland Arena, Fresno, November 13^th

 

Steve Blackman vs. Jim Neidhart

 

The Lethal Weapon and the Anvil had one of the hardest hitting matches in quite some time, with shots that echoed around the arena. After a long battle, Neidhart was able to bowl Blackman over with a running shoulder tackle, then followed up with a running powerslam to give the match to the hometown Fresno native.

 

Cannonball Grizzly vs. Mr. Hito

 

Hito made him work hard for it, but Grizzly was still able to pull out the win with the Cannonball Crush (top rope splash).

 

Tony St. Clair & British Steel (Steven Regal & Robbie Brookside) vs. Maxx Payne , Buzz Sawyer & Hack Sawyer

 

A long and fierce six man tag match that Payne took for his team with a front layout suplex on Brookside.

 

Chavo Guerrero vs. Curtis Hughes

 

The Cat mauled Chavo throughout this match, finally putting him away with the Cat's Claw (modified side slam onto the knee)

 

Dan Severn vs. Teijo Khan

 

Khan was a lot to overcome, but the Beast used his considerable technical expertise to pick him apart until forcing him to tap out to the body scissors sleeper.

 

California & Submission Title Match : Bob Backlund © vs. Barry Windham

 

Backlund and Windham had a match for the ages that spilled out of the ring when Windham clotheslined Backlund over the top rope, then followed up with a top rope clothesline to the outside. Unfortunately, neither man was able to make it back into the ring after that, resulting in a double countout.

Pacific Wrestling Showcase from the Olympic Auditorium , Los Angeles , on ESPN / TSN, November 18^th

 

Hector Guerrero vs. Sid Vicious

 

After the strict sanctions put into effect by Commissioner Dutch Savage, there was a sense in this match of Sid Vicious being on what passes for his best behaviour. He seemed more than a little bit lost at having to reign himself in, and Hector capitalized with an effective hit and run offense on the big man. It all came crashing to a halt when Vicious was able to catch him coming off the ropes with a clothesline. Vicious followed up with a devastating chokeslam, then a Power Bomb to put an end to the match. Vicious was once again looking to inflict some post match damage, but Paul Bearer, not wanting to risk the wrath of Dutch Savage (or, for that matter, Ron Simmons), called him off.

 

Bret Hart vs. Gary Young

 

Gary Young has managed to pull off a series of increasingly dirty victories over the past few weeks, and was looking to continue his momentum going into his Loser Leaves Town Match with Jim Neidhart at San Diego Battleground. If he thought his match with Bret Hart was going to be more of the same, he got a rude awakening. The Hitman was distinctly unimpressed with Young, having been well schooled by his father and brothers, and knew every counter and response to his gutter tactics. In desperation, Young attempted a low blow kick, only to find his leg easily caught by Hart. Bret them took him down with a legsweep and followed up with the Sharpshooter, forcing Young to tap out. Not an auspicious lead up for Young's match with Bret's former partner.

 

Curt Hennig vs. Curtis Hughes

 

While Nick Bockwinkel has been facing some tough challengers on the road to his San Diego Battleground title defense, his Battleground opponent Curt Hennig has not been taking it easy either. Tonight, he would have to deal with the big roughneck Curtis "The Cat" Hughes. Hughes was incredibly aggressive with Hennig, raising some doubts as to what condition Hennig would be in for his title match. But Hennig bounced back and hit some big clotheslines to knock Hughes around before going up top for a flying dropkick to score the pinfall. A big win, but the biggest challenge will come in San Diego.

 

Chavo Guerrero vs. Big Bubba Rogers

 

In spite of his man staring down the barrel of a Loser Leaves Town Cage Match with Texas Red, Jim Cornette was all smiles and confidence as he led Big Bubba to the ring. His confidence looked well placed, as the huge Louisville Slugger overwhelmed Chavo, beating him from pillar to post before pinning him with the Big Bubba Slam. A convincing victory that sends a signal to Red that he might have to up his game if he wants to come out of San Diego Battleground still a part of Pacific Coast Wrestling.

 

Coast 2 Coast (John Tatum & Jack Victory) vs. Art Barr & Eddie Guerrero

 

The evening finished off with two of the fastest rising tag teams in PCW having a real barn burner of a match. With their own big San Diego Battleground matches coming up, they were both keen on maintaining their momentum and went all out in a match with lots of double team and combination moves. Barr and Guerrero kept up a wicked pace throughout the match, but this wound up costing them when Barr didn't see Tatum  tag out to Victory, and leapfrogged Tatum only to be caught by Victory with the Victory-Plex. A convincing win for Coast 2 Coast that sets them up well for the upcoming Pacific Tag Team Title Match, but both teams looked very impressive.
