Male companion? This is why wrestling sucks, Orlando should just say "This is my gay lover" on TV and let that be that.

Also worth nothing: Ric Flair's birth name is PHELPS.

I was thinking it was, but didn't want to say without being sure. But yes, I could almost swear he said in his book that his birth name was Fred Phelps.

Or just say "my boyfriend". Orlando is bi, and has been pushing for doing this angle/gimmick for several years. Given this is wrestling, and Russo is a shit writer, it's likely to be extremely poorly written.

On Naitch... it's not terribly surprising.

As I mentioned at Cageside, he referred to Kanyon's sexual orientation as eferred to Chris Kanyon's sexual orientation as "the choices he made in his lifestyle" during their phone confrontation on The Howard Stern Show.

At WC, indy wrestler Matt Farmer posted that "From those that I heard from Ric was more than justified for confronting the guy. Guess everyone was upset over this guys over the top behavior and was embarrassed because they frequent this bar often."

Please don't ask me how associating with a flamboyant gay guy in a club in south Florida could be embarrassing, much less outside the norm.

In Flair's mind, a Straight guy dancing around naked (sometimes with a wrestling robe on but his special place exposed) and waving around his dick > a gay guy dancing in a gay way and making the wrestlers look gay by association

I wonder how Dave Meltzer will spin it.

Yep, the only publication that covered his being yelled at for throwing blood in the crowd last week.

Yep, never mention his financial issues.

Yep, had more details than any other media outlet on the deal with his wife.

Yep, go fuck yourself.

I think everyone knew Dave would report it, but the question would be how would he attempt to make it sound like a misunderstanding, or dismiss it as "boys being boys" or whatever.

I mean, he does mention his money problems but makes it sound like it was all because of his divorces and not from him living his gimmick for the last 30 years. The way he reported the last deal with his wife was pretty embarrassing as well, he went out of his way to make it sound like Ric was just trying to have fun and his shrew wife was being a Buzz Killington. Also responding "go fuck yourself" when someone mentions he protects his boy is a bit childish as well. We all know they're buds, no one is expecting a scathing expose on the Flair family dirty laundry, but don't act like you're above reproach.

What you said.

Oh, irony !

Speaking of Dave has anyone hear the newly posted Ted DiBiase Torch Talk from 1994? Ted speaks highly of Meltzer. He relates a story of bumping into Dave just before he debuted in the WWF stating Dave was incredulous initially on why such a respected and renowned wrestler would ever join the WWF. Essentially thinking Ted sold out but not in those exact words.

I can't remember Dave ever going to the "go fuck yourself" spot before.

Alverez IS a bad influence it seems

It's more the board, I think. Just the other day, Meltz got major pissed that some members were bashing him because he didn't praise Michaels' retirement enough. I mean, how dense does someone have to be to think Meltzer is biased AGAINST SHAWN MICHAELS~!

I guess only calling him "one of" the best big-match workers of all time as opposed to the undeniable, certified king is burying Shawn. I really like Shawn but even I had to pause for a second at that...

I think it's just his ongoing downhill emotions towards wrestling, really. He hates TNA, barely tolerates WWE, doesn't seem to think much of the fans anymore, and seems to only keep watching out of some sense of obligation since wrestling is what put him on the map.

Obviously not this place but nothing irks me more than "I'm too cool to talk about wrestling on a wrestling board and if you do you're an idiot" Just ran across some of that and felt the need to post how much it still pisses me off
